Oliran: Have you resolved the LASBCA issue?
I might be of help if you don't mind. Thank you for your concern, I wouldn’t mind for sure but they demanded I pay them 100k since an approval scheme hasn’t been set yet for the site which is at boys town ipaja(just handed to the family over court judgement) and that I needed to get the permit from them too. But if there is anything otherwise I could do , for sure I would welcome the idea not to pay that sum of money that is off the records |

Donoppy: Wow! This definitely a huge difference in price as compared to the price I had to pay all together for planks ,bamboo,nails and the likes that amounted to 1.2m+ And this even despite I had some I trust to have to take the carpenter to go get the wood. I will like to follow up on the roofing because I know that’s where another huge spending will come to surface and I am looking forward to start paying detailed attention from that point onward. This people don’t even pity anyone building house at all |

My house is 4 flats of 3unit of 2bedroom and 1 unit of 3bedroom .i used 210 bags of cement, bought 2 tipper of 30tons of sand ,2 tippers of 30tons of granite of which i still hv some granite remaining , total spent is 2.2m inclusive staircase, plumbing material , electrical materials and labour Wow! This definitely a huge difference in price as compared to the price I had to pay all together for planks ,bamboo,nails and the likes that amounted to 1.2m+ And this even despite I had some I trust to have to take the carpenter to go get the wood. |

Esotechng: Hello sir, its nomal here in lagos. They where at my site last month before i cast my decking and we negotiated. They gave me a bill of 300k here at ajah, i negotiated 100k, gave them 50k and pleaded to pay the Balance later on. U see, u were suppose to get an approval with your structural detailing drawing before u commerce with the job. If they shuld seal up ur property u wil pay the 250k for unseal and then even pay for the so called approval. My advise will be to negotiate with them. sometimes engineers knows this, but because of the requirements and timing to gettig this approval, they rather just commerce with the construction and settle the field agents, speaking from experience as am into build and sell. Hope this helps. Yeah , you are right because I even noticed in the area they marked almost all the construction ongoing there with this so called LABSCA sign and I feel this is because it’s a new site, that just got handed to the family through the court order from the government and apparently the architect who did the drawing who happened to work in alausa said to me then, that I couldn’t get approval of the drawing as an approval scheme hasn’t been set yet for this whole site so invariably if he was right then nobody can have an approved architectural drawing and hence couldn’t have a legit approval, so definitely it has to now be a who know who process and back door settlement. Because if there is no approval scheme for this site yet , then invariably there shouldn’t even be construction going on there at all. This is my point though but I still welcome any contradictory explanation to this, I am just saying this for the purpose of anyone that intends to go through this process too. Thanks |

KolaShangOne: Stop construction for now.
Take all your approved drawings, go to Labsca office. Start the processing of your approval.
If you pay that bribe, you will continue paying because other agencies will still come.
Lagos State Safety whatever, another batch of LABSCA, also LASEPA will come.
If you are a novice I.e, if it's your first building, they will chop ya money o.. They will tell you that they should do the drawing and stamps for you ... Firstly I would love to thank you for your concern. I don’t have the approval drawing because the architect that did the drawing said an approval scheme hasn’t be set up yet for the site premises where construction is ongoing. But I have all my drawings and the architect made sure they are up to standard for approval when I need to make approval. So please at this stage which the site is already at the column level , what can I do please to say myself from this mess. Thanks once more for your concern |

davodyguy: Some so called 'engineers' are actually quacks.
Let me say this. You are not a lawyer just because you went to Unilag or OAU to study law. You must be called to Bar before being called a Lawyer. That is what is happening with the speaker of the LAHA. You are not an engineer because you graduated with HND or Bsc in any engineering related field, until you become a COREN certified. Anyone that studies Estate Management in the Higher institution is not an Estate Surveyor and Valuer, but a graduate of Estate Management. To become an Estate Surveyor and Valuer, you must be certified by RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors UK) or By ESVARBON (Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria)
You need to ask your engineer for his COREN certificate, otherwise he's just a graduate and not a professional.
Yes, you need approval before you can carryout any development in Lagos State, as dictated by the Urban and Regional Development Planning Law 2010. For you to pull down a building, you must get approval. For you to construct, you need approval.
Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) is an enforcement agency under the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development of Lagos State. They are responsible for sealing up illegal development. Your development is illegal.
Illegal Development is described as any development without requisite approval from the MPPUD Lagos State.
But LABSCA does not have any write to demand such, unless the site is sealed and you're told to pay unsealing fee to LASG, which is N250,000. Not as bribe, but to be receipted. Thanks for your concern.... I was only aware of the fact I was going to get an approval for the architectural and structural drawing which I couldn’t even get as the architect that did the drawing said an approval scheme hasn’t been set up yet for the site premises on which construction is ongoing , so this one came up as an entire news to me and the engineer even told me he isn’t aware though I intend to still see him this weekend to know why he wouldn’t tell me in the first place before he started construction. But also I will need you to tell me what to do because I don’t intend to pay as much as this money they are asking for. Thanks |

Goodmorning house... so some days ago some people came to my site where construction is ongoing and said they came from Lagos state government building control agency and that we didn’t get a permit before starting the construction from the agency and now are asking for us to pay them a sum of #200000 , please I need your help here on what to do because this morning is too much and from what they said it isn’t even backed up by any receipt. And the worst part is that the engineer didn’t even mention anything of such to me at the beginning of the construction , please what should I do ? |

Safeplux: Diagram below
This is a diaper sold for $0.03 per piece. Thats about #11 per piece. Let's assume We are purchasing 10,000 pieces. Now thats #11*10'0000 pieces=#11,000. Let's assume this weighs up to 1cbm. Now for sea shipping we can spend upto #100,000 for international sea shipping Which takes 45-60days to reach Lagos. Total money spent on procurement and logistics is #210,000,remember you bought 10,000 pieces. Hence #210,000/10,000, will give you your unit price of #21 So lets put our final cost price at #21. I like the way you did identify opportunities which is very great but you failed to factor in the cost of clearance of this goods and the tax that did be imposed on it upon landing. That’s always where the main problem is. |

When you get to decking level. Both electrical and plumber will work together as well. Okay thank you very much , so how much could that plumbing work cost me for workmanship fee? |

Goodmorning everyone.... I hope you all having a nice day , so I am all new to this construction whole thing and my dad and engineer been the one generally overseeing the project as I have been busy with my work also. So my project is a 2bedroom flat 2unit up and 2unit down and now before they do the German floor the engineer said he will bring his plumber and electrical guy to come start the work as it’s going to be a conduit building. So I need advice as regard how much i can bargain with the electrical and plumber guy to do the whole building because I am sure the person that started should be the one to complete it definitely. So how much should it cost to do the whole electrical and plumbing work of the whole building of 2unit of 2bedroom up and 2unit of 2bedroom down making a total of 4unit, I will sincerely appreciate your advice nairalanders. |

saydfact: NO1. 10k - 15k because its just blinding and shd be done in hours (does not include Iron bender work) NO2. OK NO3, 25K NO4. We're talking of about 2500 blocks (l believe less) here if the design is massive; so 150k - 200k NO5. 20k NO6. 50K NO7. FREE - shd be part of NO6 or done as goodwill, well 10k (2 days work) NO8. LOL NO9. If what you're using is mesh wire - 5k is OK, but if you're using 8mm rods then 15K NO10. I don't even know how to price this, cos 150k should do the job.... (minus amount used to rent machine paid seperately)
This prices are generated using 2 bedroom flats x 2 -
TOTAL is about 550k LOL... That no. 8 seems so funny to you Thank you very much sir I really appreciate your contribution. It will go a long way |

Programming › Re: Learn How To Create Websites With Python(Django Web Framework) by Donoppy(m): 5:11pm On Apr 02, 2020 |
Nice work @coleDrain, I am currently halfway learning python programming on Udemy and just started reading your content for the first time and they really shed more light to the aspect of Django which am currently on. ColeDrain: POST 13
Things we've learned so far: views, urlpatterns, models, how the web works, admin site
Moving back to the views We said views are functions that take request from the user(browser) and then generates a response which is sent to the user's browser. For now this is our views.py looks like except you added any view to it for practice:
from django.shortcuts import render from django.http import HttpResponse # Create your views here.
def index(request): return HttpResponse("Hello World. You are doing well"
Our polls website will have the following views: index view - displays latest questions to users detail view - displays details about a specific question results view - displays results for a particular question vote view - enable user to vote for a specific choice
So basically, once a user comes to our website's home page, he sees latest questions, he can click on a specific question and vote for a choice and also see the total results. Update polls/views.py as follows:
from django.http import HttpResponse
def index(request): return HttpResponse("Hello, world. You're at the polls index."
def detail(request, question_id): return HttpResponse("You're looking at question %s." % question_id)
def results(request, question_id): response = "You're looking at the results of question %s." return HttpResponse(response % question_id)
def vote(request, question_id): return HttpResponse("You're voting on question %s." % question_id)
please convert the emoji to )
Let me explain some things So we said views are functions that take request from browser. but some of the views above take another argument question_id Okay, let's say the user sends a request to django that he wants question 2, how does django know the question the user wants to view?? Answer- through question_id(so that's why we have question_id)
So user comes to our homepage sees 4 questions, he clicks on number 2, (request, 2) is sent to django, to help django know the user wants question 2 and then the detail view returns a response You're looking at question 2.
Like we normally do, after creating our views we create urlpatterns, so go to polls/urls.py and update as such: (remove the once you created before, if you did)
from django.urls import path
from . import views
urlpatterns = [ path('', views.index, name='index'), path('<int:question_id>/', views.detail, name='detail'), path('<int:question_id>/results/', views.results, name='results'), path('<int:question_id>/vote/', views.vote, name='vote'), ]
Don't get worried, I will explain. So when a user makes a request he is basically sending a url to django. You type in nairaland.com/login, you are requesting for nairaland's login page.
So in our polls website, once the user comes to our homepage 127.0.0.1:8000/polls django will check the mysite/url.py first and if you check your mysite.url/py which is this:
from django.contrib import admin from django.urls import path, include
urlpatterns = [ path('admin/', admin.site.urls), path('polls/', include('polls.urls')), ]
Django is looking for a urlpattern that matches 127.0.0.1:8000/polls/ once django sees that line path('polls/', include('polls.urls')) it sees a match then it goes to the polls/urls.py and then matches path('', views.index, name='index'). You get??
Okay another example to clear things up. A user wants to see question 4, so he clicks it, this sends 127.0.0.1:8000/polls/4/ to Django, Django starts looking for a match. It first goes to mysite/urls.py and matches polls and then goes to polls/urls.py and matches path('<int:question_id>/', views.detail, name='detail') the <int:question_id>/ matches 4, then Django sends it to the view which then gives a response.
Save the files, then run the server(py manage.py runsever) Go to your browser and try the following urls: 127.0.0.1:8000.polls/ 127.0.0.1:8000.polls/5/ 127.0.0.1:8000.polls/5/results/ 127.0.0.1:8000.polls/vote/
Always remember user sends a request, a url is sent to the Django, the url contains info about what the user wants, Django tries to find a match with the urlpatterns it already has, once a match is found the request is sent to the appropriate view(function) which returns a response to the user. .. Nice one bro ... Am following... God bless you . |
