That is an very odd answer since atheism is a negation of faith hence you don't need to know anything about it at all.
Secondly you cannot use your own life experience to ascertain the validity or otherwise of voodoo moreso when you may have not had a lot of life experience.
Maybe I can conjecture from your utterances here that your parents are strong Christians and that thus far whilst you are still under their control their prayers have been protecting you from harm. Why not try living independently for a while before coming here to pontificate and cast aspersions on other people's views?
However you don't have to believe in or take any interest in voodoo. One just needs to be aware of the multifarious devices of the devil.
I have given up on Tensor. he uses big words to attempt to show all he knows what he is talking about. His comments above though prompted me to comment. "pontification, aspersion on other peoples views" LOL, I hope he sees the irony.

I have read a lot of rubbish from here from people talking about propaganda this, insult that, waste of money here, why report this, attacking Nigeria etc. Ridiculous!!

The truth hit home and of the documentary shown, did anyone force them to act? Where words scripted? anything faked? Sad fact is, Lagos looked like shit, was run by shit and all Nigerians can do is focus on the irrelevant!

And people wonder why we have achieved nothing?

Yes I believe there is juju and please keep your overbearing attitude to yourself. Why must everyone be wrong and you right, don’t impose your own conviction on others. Yes I believe 100% that there is “juju”, black magic or whatever name you wish to call it

Go and stick your scientific theory where the sun don’t shine, I watched one of the “most brilliant minds” as they call him – Stephen Hawking explain how the world came to be and the whole 3 hours was at best ludicrous in my own opinion. In fact the whole frigging “higher intelligent thinking” documentary was filled with “I think” “lucky”.
Thats because it was lucky, you fool!!

Same scenario if someone had prayed to god every friday to win the lottery Friday years he won the lottery, would you say that god heard his prayers or that he was lucky?

You have t understand that the conditions for human life and this universe is bathed in extreme luck. Or are you going to believe that god made amn blah blah blah, please explain Noahs ark, with that limited gene pool do you really think they populated the whole planet??

rejoice in you ignorance and flagrant stupidity. In terms of minds, lol, i would take hawkings over yours any time.

I don't know how you can come up with such claims as you were simply a bystander at the satanic festival. You don't know for instance whether the basket was hermetically sealed as you were not there when they were preparing it for use in the festival. undecided Your account still amounts to another dem say tale.
That notwithstanding there is satanic power upon which juju or voodoo is based.
You are no worse than the fools saying JUJU exist. If Satanic powers exist then so must Satan.
If satan exist then so must God
If God is all knowing, all powerful then he must have know what Satan was going to do, but God chose to create him anyway. Is that the action of a loving God??

So what does god do during this almighty wait for judgement day? if he is indeed all knowing then he must know who will be saved and who wont be, if that is the case why put up with this long wait and not declare judgement day now?

What did god do before he 'created' the universe? Did he just play with his angels?

The bible said First came Adam, I think SCIENCE has proved this to be incorrect.(that one is for you timid!!)

My point remains that you as a person that has no faith whatsoever has no locus standi to question another person's faith. It would make no sense for a person of faith to join issues with you over his faith or even the very basis for his faith as you would not understand. Its not something that can be comprehended by pure reason.
This is shown in your reply to Timmi where instead of stating your own views on for instance how the universe was created, you simply resorted to lampooning his own views on that.
Tensor, your point is mute now. You continue to look silly when you try to argue without answering the most basic questions put to you. As far as timid point on how the universe was created, again why do you let your ignorance blind you? My views on how the universe was created is the same as anybody with a slice of intelligence.

Don't bother replying, you try to sound smart but my niece who is 10 would debating you into tears, but then again, you wouldn't answer any questions she posed to you right?

Timmi:
@ Donevero:

As an atheist, you seem to act counter to others belief, without believing in anything. That in itself is a fallacy. Your premise as an atheist is that God does not exist and as such those that believe in God are simple minded and cannot reason nor rationalize. That again is a fallacy and as a student of psychology, you should know that your claim as an atheist and not believing in anything is not logical.

However, I want to address some issues that you should logically consider in your unbelieving mind.

1. If God does not exist, then all the things that we experienced and see must have come into being by happenstance. That is not logical, the orderliness and the complexity of things around us, even some that up till now still defies scientific explanation, showed that there is a higher being that created this complexity and orderliness.

2. Science did not discover anything, but rather tries to find explanation for what has been created. Everything has been created, we as humans are trying to find out the mechanism of these creations and how we can best apply these intricacies to resolve other human problems.

3. God created a perfect man in Adam and prepared a place for him to nurture, but God gave man a choice by presenting Adam the two trees, explained the consequences of choosing either one of them and allowed Adam to make his choice. That in itself is a God like quality, for our parents, growing up rarely gave us a choice. God instituted a choice theory so as not to create a zombie.

4. What we choose then is up to us, just as you have choosing not to believe in God and God allowed you to choose whether to believe in Him or not knowing the consequences of your choice.

5. You seems to know some parts of the Bible, but you have chosen to use the areas that you feel like using while using them also out of context. For if you have taken time to read through the old Testament, you would have seen where God told His people exactly what will happen in the future - some as far off as 400-years, forewarned them and told them what they should do to prevent such occurrence and yet they choose to do the opposite and hence they have to face the consequence of their choices. Same thing applies now, we are allowed to choose knowing the consequences of our action or inaction, however, once we choose, we have no control over the consequence.

In closing, let me remind you of what the Lord - Jesus Christ said in Luke 9:56 - "For the son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them."

I wish you well in your choices, but I advise that you choose right.
This so ridiculous, and unlike Tensor the ignoramus I will answer your questions and look forward to your respone.

Point 1. Your argument is redundant. If the world is so complex and orderliness and something must have created it. Then the thing that created it must too be complex so who created God. If your response is that nothing made God, then why cant the same rationale be used for the universe? if you say God always existed, then how did he come to exist? if something so complex had to be created then why cant have something created something as complex as God?

Point 2. Science did not discover anything? LOL, type into google, scientific discoveries, let us not be lazy now, the answers are right there.

Point 3, How can you say god created a choice? if he is all knowing and all powerful and he knew we would eat the apple, how was that a choice when it was already predetermined? If he did not know what we would choose then he cannot be all that powerful.

Point 4 does not ask anything

Point 5, I have read the bible back to front, you do understand that is it mans interpretation of stories he heard many centuries ago, re written, re hashed, some gospels included some excluded. Have you even read it?
CultureRe: What Has Been Your Experience With Juju? by DonOvero: 2:32pm On Oct 07, 2010
I have continual read some ludicrous things posted here. Tensor main argument for not debating is if you have no faith, then you cannot question my faith. "Good reasoning"

"Governor, do you believe it is right for you to enrich yourself at the expense of the citizens?"
"mumu!! what do you believe?"
" I believe it is wrong as evident by these facts, so can you please answer the question"
"My friend, if you don't believe then I will not answer"

It is a good thing that 'Christ' did not use the same reasoning when asked what he believed in and to explain it.
It is a good things that when someone asks the , Father, rev, vic etc the question they did not adopt you idiot approach.

Can you read what you type, AS YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IN ANYTHING I WILL NOT ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS

Ignorant thinking. If you asked an scientist to prove the earth was around longer than the 6-8000 the bible suggests, what do you imagine the outcry would be if he said "as you believe in the bible I will not answer you"

You Ignorance betrays you.
CultureRe: What Has Been Your Experience With Juju? by DonOvero: 5:37pm On Oct 01, 2010
Another question of the many you CAN'T answer is if god is omnipotent can god make a rock that is too heavy for him to carry? Can god build a wall that even he can't tear down?

Also, if god knows everything, he knows what he will do in the "future" (in any dimension, not necessary the time dimension). He must have known that from the very start of his own existence. Thus god's actions are predestined. God is tied by faith, he has no free will. If god has no free will god is not omnipotent. Another way to put it is that to be able to make plans and decisions one must act over time. If god stands above time he can not do that and has no free will. Indeed, if god stands above all dimensions god is dimensionless - a singularity, nothing, void!

Besides there can exist no free wills at all if god is almighty. If you had a free will, god wouldn't know what you would do tomorrow and wouldn't be omnipotent.

Please answer, pretty please.

A disciple of Christ, Thomas, was a skeptic. He walked with Jesus during his time on earth and physically witnessed with his own eyes certain miracles performed by him such as raising Lazarus from the dead and so forth. However, after the crucifixion, Jesus supposedly rose three days later and Thomas did not believe it was truly him despite being told, prior to the incident by Jesus, that he would rise again in three days. Thomas required physical proof. Jesus allowed him to touch him and feel the wounds in his body to offer that proof to Thomas. Why doesn't god extend the same proof to humans alive today? Those that doubt his existence are no different than Thomas, requiring physical proof and he was a disciple of Jesus himself. If Thomas had been born one generation later, or even living today, he would have burned in hell for all eternity because he would not believe for the lack of physical proof. Paul was born after the death and ascension of Christ. Throughout his life, he did not believe that Jesus was the son of God and even went out of his way to persecute and murder Christians thinking that their religion was a dangerous belief system to practice. Lo and behold a flash of light came out of the sky and Jesus Christ himself appeared to Paul explaining to him that he is actually the one true god. Jesus told him that he was persecuting the followers of the only true faith. From that point on, Paul was a converted Christian. Again, if God was willing to go out of his way to physically prove to Paul that he actually exists, why is this not done today? Why isn't God willing to show those that doubt today the same degree of physical proof? Why should we be any different than Thomas and Paul?

You complain about how the government in Nigeria can be so corrupt, so wicked, so evil that they will use money for the people hide it in Swiss accounts, lavish food and gifts to their friends whilst their people starve. This wicked evil government. Now Imagine that I had the power and ability to feed millions and end all suffering. Now, imagine that I simply chose not to do so because these millions of people that are suffering did not like me. You would probably like me even less then, right? Then why does God get a 'get out of jail free card' on that one? Wait a minute, 'God's plan,' right? ok?!!1

Overo: How did Adam live to 930, Seth 912 and Methuselah 969 years old when anthropological evidence shows that we have progressively increased our longevity throughout history? If they did live that long back then, this concept would be reversed and our longevity should have been decreasing throughout history, right? That would mean that people 500 years ago should have lived to at least 200 years old. Why do we not find evidence of this throughout written historical birth and death records as well as archaeological and anthropological evidence?

Overo - Why is it that when you are faced with questions that have huge negative implications towards your logic of your faith, you conveniently say that it is in God's plan? Is the scope of their own understanding of the religion and God they have offered their souls to so limited that their only answer is 'God's plan'? Judging by the above mentioned failures, God's plan does not seem to be a very good one.

LOL,

Good comeback. and yet gain you fail to answer. Everytime you write you come across even more uneducated.

I have no problem in people who believe in something but everthing has to have a why and must have a reason. You have neither.

It is clear in several instances in the Judaism scriptures that God commanded, “raping, killings of innocent people and children, having slaves and even sexual slaves.”

Excusing this incredibly obvious immoral/unethical/gut-wrenching sick activity away as God having to work on teaching them basics first, doesn’t hold any water. They are just too extreme/perverse and barbaric for a loving God. I really don’t think God would command killing innocent men because they couldn’t handle higher truths. Come onhuh? It doesn’t make any sense.

It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that these leaders/prophets (whatever you choose to call them) in the bible are bogus in terms of legitimacy of what they claimed and taught.

If it isn’t clear that this is a flashood by now, and are still rationalising away such disgusting inhumanity, then you can continue to live in fantasy, but it does not amek it real just because you think it is real.

Just because someone believes something to be true, doesn’t make it true in the real world.

Christianity EtcChristianity Is Nothing But A Cult by DonOvero(op): 12:19pm On Oct 01, 2010
One of the things that fundamentalist Christians find disturbing about the world is the existence of cults.
Cult leaders are said to be self centered and egotistical because they require complete obedience and conformity to whatever agenda the leader has in mind. On top of this, cult leaders tend to divide people into two groups, those who are members of the cult and those who aren't. Those who don't accept the agenda and views of the cult leader are often vilified and declared enemies of the group.
Cult leaders also try to separate children from their parents and create a division between them which often results in total isolation and rejection of the parental influence. Cult leaders will also promise great rewards to their followers for their sacrifice to the cult service.

Christians can often be found issuing warnings about the evils of cult environments and the destructive influence they can have on the minds of emotionally and economically stressed people. Cults are said to create an atmosphere of extremely negative attitudes because the cult leader replaces God, parents, and the very mind of an individual with the personal agenda and views of the cult leader.
The cult mentality with all its ramifications is said to spawn horrible fanatical movements and produces petty, self-serving, egotistical and often power hungry leaders who wish to manipulate and control others.

All these points and observations about cults ring true in the minds of objective people.
However, what is ignored by Christians is that their Lord and Savior, Jesus, exhibited exactly the same traits that zealous cult leaders do. Christians will close their eyes to the same things they find so disturbing in other cult leaders.
This is understandable to some extent because Christianity is above all else, a religion that promotes itself through aggressive advertising and the unquestioning submission to a superficial God, a God of shine and little substance.
Believers are told to do the "will of God" and serve him totally.
Christianity EtcRe: The Bible Stands by DonOvero: 11:11am On Oct 01, 2010
What are the common attributes of doomsday cult leaders?

They tends to recruit vulnerable people by making them feel good about themselves.

They separates people from their families out of the cult leader’s need to be the absolute and only center of everyone’s lives.

They take peoples money and possessions.

They appears to perform miracles.

They convince followers that he (the cult leader) is special or divine and that previous religious writings were about him.

They wants to control every detail of the follower’s lives.

They like to moves their followers around from place to place.

and they eventually predicts there will be some dramatic war that wipes out everyone or the world will end someday and they will all go to a new fantasy world where the cult leader will rule on a grander scale. Their dysfunctionalately escalates to the point where they command their followers to commit murder and/or suicide.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Err maybe Christianity
