Can any institution probe a matter that is already before a court of competent jurisdiction? Natasha out of naivety placed the cart before the horse, there are due process and protocols If she has any case against any senator within the house, she registers her case with the disciplinary committee and if their judgment is unsatisfactory she then can proceed to the court of jurisdiction, that's the sensible process. Business › Re: Why Exchange Rate Stability Is Not Sustainable - Experts by donself9: 10:42am On Mar 05, 2025 |
DeLaRue: The naira is not even being subsidised now.
Some of this so-called experts don't even know what is going on.
1. During Mr Buhari's regime, the CBN was supplying about 65% of the total dollars sold in Nigeria.
2. As of today, that figure has fallen to around 3%!
3. Since December up to now, the CBN has been stepping in to buy dollars because more dollars have been coming into Nigeria than the market can absorb. If the CBN has not been buying the excess dollars, the naira may have appreciated too fast, may be to N1400. That would have created a new period of instability. The CBN prefers the naira to gain or lose very slowly. That is what businesses and investors prefer. They don't want drama.
That situation can change but for about 3 months now, the net contribution of the CBN to the forex market is only about 3%.
That is a fantastic development.
The Naira is currently operating on its own based on market forces, with little to no net contribution from the CBN. You must be a dunce, how can you posit an excess dollar into the country is detrimental to the local currency Do you even pass through school at all, do you understand the basis of demand and supply law excess dollar inflow into the economy resonates with a favorable balance of trade, ... what records shows Nigeria has favorable balance of trade How do you posit excess dollar at a time, int'l oil price keeps droppin and our National budget is being run on a deficit CBN buying up excess dollar ke ... you sure say you go school |

I wouldn't have any issues if subsidy was actually removed to help government save but what I don't understand is why will he go back and start paying 3X of what other government paid as subsidy yet fuel is 960 here...

Tellmeastory: You guys are very funny.
The average timeline between a 'commitment' to invest x billion dollars in a country, and the actual operation of that investment is AT LEAST 3 YEARS IF YOU ARE LUCKY.
More usually 4 to 5 years. A lot of work and meetings are involved.
A lot of surveys and environmental impact investigations, funding negotiations, profit-sharing arrangements, etc etc.....some places where certain minerals have been discovered by satellite or something, there are no roads leading there at all because they are in the middle of nowhere. So we have to build the roads to reach there first, which can take a couple of years at least!
I mean, these things drag on for years before anything is on ground! What is the trajectory with Apc govt, under these govt Nnpc declared profit then came back to announcing owing debts or should we talk about the countless incoherences from these govt IF the govt has attracted investment into the country even if its too early to see the impact, is it also too early to know the investors and what they plan to do Is it not these governments that claim one investment company is coming into the country and those ones debunked it, maybe na why dey no mention names If you think not trusting these govt is unreasonable, please make sense of their trajectory |
