What a waste of effort.

He's even saying Tinubu is not qualified to contest. SMH.

Na only first timer voters Dey use presidential election votes to anticipate how local election will turn out.
Of course, the Presidential elections does not 100% determine the direction of State gubernatorial election but it sure plays a role too.

Immediately APC lost the Presidential election in Oyo state in 2019, they knew they were in trouble and started to shop for alliance.

The moment APC lost the 2023 Presidential elections in Kano, everyone knew the Gubernatorial election was never going to be easy for APC.

As it stands LP only looks sure of winning one state in the governorship can we say we overestimated the Obi wave?
When you consider that the core of Peter Obi's campaign message is the displacement of the structure of criminality - referring to the PDP and APC. Yet, these same parties are easily winning governorship elections in same states Peter Obi won 2 weeks back.

Looks like no one actually paid any attention to his campaign message which is terribly sad.

Anybody in the know would tell you that'd be the exact reaction of Calabar South boys to trying to erase their ancestry. Even I, an Ibibio, won't dare say it.

If I ever try calling Awka or Owerri a no man's land, you and I know I'd be dismembered there and then on the streets. We all know this. Don't dish out what you won't tolerate.
But these actions you just described are entirely condemnable. It doesn't matter if it is reality or otherwise.

Why should anyone be dismembered for what they say? It is wrong and if you know anyone who is inclined to do so, you should condemn them and notify the police for their immediate arrest.

It is not everytime a government must painfully raise money or borrow to fund projects now.
Airports, railways, power stations can be done with PPP or totally done by private investors who are willing to fund these projects like the Chinese, Germans for power station etc.
The black man is just wicked. Looking for excuses for not doing things.
A society is not as hard to run and managed the way they making it to look like.
Give any state to the Germans. I mean any useless state like jigawa and you will be ashamed to see what they would have turned it to in 10 years while the other blacks states are still in tatters
You sure have a point and I certainly agree with you that the Germans will transform a state like Jigawa to unimaginable heights within the shortest possible period. It's evident as daylight. Germany, despite losing two world wars, losing its colonies/territories and the huge payment of repatriations has once again raised itself into having the best performing economy in Europe. Those guys are something else.

It's shameful to say but Africans do not have that resilience and foresight to build a well run society. It's always about immediate gratification and consumption, there is that lack of will to suspend fulfilling immediate desires for a greater and better purpose. I don't want to dunk on my continent but omo Africans don't have it in them.

Lagos has geographical advantage. A port city will 95% of the time flourish.
Exactly.

And as a certain philosopher once said : "Geography is destiny"

Same thing even applies to humans, a baby born in Switzerland is sure going to have a better life than the one born in Malawi.

Nigeria should have more cities allowed and built to function like Lagos, as long as it's only Lagos that functions the way it does in Nigeria, these sort of things will not stop. Abundance kills strife.
Lagos did not just become Lagos overnight nah. The Lagos of Today has had its present status gradually been built by huge historical investment from the pre-colonial era, colonial era and the post colonial era. Before the annexation of Lagos by the British in 1861, Lagos had flourished and produced numerous successful business men and women because of its geography as a port city.

Even the present day Lagos is not that special in comparison with other international cities of the world. It's just that in the world of blind, a one-eyed man is automatically the king.

Creating another city like Lagos will even benefit the country and can propel the country's GDP close to 1 trillion dollars (if done rightly), but it will demand a very huge long term infrastructural investment such as ports, railways, highways etc but where will the country struggling to complete Lagos-Ibadan expressway see the money to fund that kind of expenses.

Dude, for the umpteenth time I repeat, Calabar was a former FCT, but if you ever dare insinuate it's a no man's land, you'd have body parts littered along the streets, especially in Calabar South.
You don't have to take my word for it - ask any non-indigeous person you know to utter that on the streets of Calabar then give us a feedback in 24 or 48 hours.smiley

To win election in Delta, you must join PDP...I was actually thinking this election will not be easy for Pdp but look at the result...Apc could only win 4 out of 25 LG
PDP lost in Delta in the Presidential elections.

APC won 2 out of the 3 Senate seats.

APC losing Delta Governorship relates to the candidacy of Omo Agege not exciting Deltans. . .not that PDP is invincible or anything.

Seriously, if INEC can hold elections to three offices - President, Senate, and House Of Reps - in one day, NOTHING prevents the electoral body from holding all elections on one day.
A lot of money would be saved from having to run logistics on two separate Saturdays to one Saturday.
Collations will be harder, tougher and probably prone to manipulation and misappropriation.

In a local government, you are collating State HOA elections, Federal House of Representatives elections, Senate elections, Governorship elections, Presidential elections. It will be too much to handle.

Accept it to begin with for peace and respect's sake. Calling Lagos a "No man's land" is a devious attempt at erasing the identities and heritage of its indigenes. A man is nothing without his identity. He feels less without his roots.

There's a reason Black Americans and other displaced blacks from world over spend a lot on genealogy just for the satisfaction of knowing they have a source.

Two truths can exist:

- You can condemn the violence in Lagos, and;
- Outrightly condemn any attempts to erase the heritage of Lagos indigenes.
Okay, Point taken bruv.

Stop the posturing. I'm not saying majority of non-indigenous people in Lagos say it but calling the lands of my ancestors a "No man's land" even once by a significant number of people would trigger me to defend my heritage.

The issue is, while a few pockets of dissenting voices said it to trigger people in online arguments, most people never refer to Lagos as a "No man's land". It was blown out of proportion for divisive political optics.
So, if every resident of Lagos signs an affidavit declaring Lagos to be Yoruba or Awori land. What changes?

My point is : People accepting Lagos to be no man's land or otherwise changes nothing.

The fact that people are even congregating and making it a topic of discussion is funny to me. Honestly, it is like majoring in a minor issue.

After election, we won't here nothing again.

Once election year approaches, APC will look at their strongest opponent and find away to attach him to igbos and use "we vs them" to win.

Touts on the street will fall for it...even the so called educated ones will fall.

If GRV wasn't the strongest opponent due to Obis influence on LP, they would have roped igbos into Jandors campaign just as they did jimi agbeje.
It's really a shame.

The ethnic distrust is too deep and Nigeria is not wanting for ethnic jingoists to lap up and spread such message.
