But their conscience was at ease when they were trying to exploit the boy.

If this had gone under the radar of the UK authorities,he would have donated the kidney then they give him just low 4 figures of us dollars or pounds and dump him back to Nigeria.
I'm not excusing what Ekweremadu did. I will never support the exploitation of anyone's body organ for financial reasons.

But from what I gathered (though unconfirmed), it was already clear that the boy's organ was not going to be a match and was slated to be returned back to Nigeria.

From the moment he raised alarm, everything that's happened from then on was a predictable outcome. Also, considering the fact they'd def have been ripping him off the true value of his kidney, his reneging on the "agreement" isn't bad at all. It's also very possible he didn't understand in full the consequences of living life without one kidney and the way he'd manage his body going forward. Knowing the Nigerian political elite for who they are, the guy made the best decision...fvck Ekweremadu and his family.
You are not wrong. I don't have the full details but I also guess he was treated badly when it was confirmed he was not going to be a suitable match.

Nonetheless, directly contributing to the imprisonment of 2 influential figures is wild. I hope UK is also ready to grant asylum claims of his relatives because I won't lie to you, they won't be safe forever in Nigeria.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DontBullshitMe: 1:32pm On Mar 23, 2023
Ekweremadu has been found guilty. This is wild!

I hope the boy is okay with risking about 3 people's freedom to make asylum claims?

Will his conscience be at ease at all? Sending 3 people to prison for you to stay back in UK is . . . . . shocked shocked

I hope the Judge is compassionate in sentencing.
Politics / Re: Ekweremadu, Wife, Doctor Found Guilty Of Organ Trafficking by DontBullshitMe: 1:22pm On Mar 23, 2023
Omo. This is crazy.

I hope the Judge passes a light sentence for them especially since the crime they committed was borne out of the love for their daughter. Wait. Was the daughter also on trial too?

I hope the boy's conscience is at ease Shaa? Because putting Ekweremadu and his family's freedom at risk because he wants to stay back in the UK through asylum is wild.

You all defended it before the election when Tinubu and other patriots were fighting it. It is now your turn to fight so do it alone. Some of us will not join the biased and hypocritical NLC.
You must be misinformed to think I supported any catastrophic naira redesign policy.

I have been against it from Day 1.

So, I ask you again : Is the currency scarcity not enough reason for civil disobedience?

Airport wey be like mall? These governors should stop embarrassing themselves. It's not by force to build an airport.

They keep churning out rubbish airports and stadiums, the annoying thing is they are always tagged "ultra modern" or "world class" meanwhile, there's nothing ultra modern or world class about those projects.
Nigerians are obsessed with "building". They want the Government to build hospitals, build flyovers, build bridges, build hospitals etc. Infrastructures are supposed to be strategic. In Nigeria, it is not.

So many flyovers and bridges in many states with few traffic literally doing nothing. But they must be built to lift the Governor's ego and excite the people.

In Kano right now, billions of naira is being used to build a Cancer hospital that I suspect will become redundant in the next 20 years. How many Kano residents can afford to pay for Cancer treatment? How will the hospital be continuously funded? what's really the plan? Government funding? No one knows. Just build it first, call the President to commission it with a wide PR coverage and you are hailed nationwide.

General lack of foresight is holding the country back and it is not funny.

Burning of INEC office is not an act of civil disobedience anyway. It is called arson and a big criminal offence.

For knowledge purposes, protests, refusal to work, boycotting the patronage of Government services etc are examples of civil disobedience.

1. Prostitution does not compare with drug dealing at all as the devastation that drugs cause the addicts impact society whereas the dealings between a prostitute and the buyer don't really inflict harm. undecided
Excess Food consumption which facilitates obesity also impacts the society negatively, why is food consumption not illegal?

What the Government should do is to regulate the Prostitution and drug trafficking trade to eradicate or perhaps reduce to the barest minimum the instances of corruption and abuse.

Once again, to me. I see nothing fundamentally and morally wrong with Prostitution and drug dealing/trafficking.
Romance / Re: What Exactly Is Wrong With Prostitution? by DontBullshitMe: 11:08pm On Mar 22, 2023
As long as it is 100% voluntary, I see nothing wrong as well.

Same with drug dealing. I see nothing fundamentally wrong with it. The buyers are buying voluntarily, they were neither forced or coerced. Without the demands, supply will crumble.

Lmao nawa ooo... So wetin you want make abians do today?
Also going by what you posted what then is the need for people to vote if you believe everything is the same
I'm very critical of all Nigeria politicians so when any of them gets celebrated, it eats me up deeply.

Opposition politicians have mastered the usage of the "I'm different" "I am not one of them" rhetorics to mesmerize voters into voting for them when all they eventually do is to govern in the same direction (of salary payment, a few infrastructure here and there etc) of the past leaders with a stronger PR machinery anyway.

Once a politician loses his seat or is desperate to gain one, he is always quick to deploy the "I'm different" message when he is infact not any different. I don't know if you are aware but the country is getting really really worse that I don't even want to imagine a Nigeria of 2070. Right now, both the middle class and the impoverished are selling their ancestral properties for a 2 year post study Visa in UK. Everyone is looking for an escape route. It has never been this bad and the impending doom is very obvious to anyone still paying attention.

Open LinkedIn right now, there are literally zero jobs posting in states outside of Lagos. The one posted in Lagos are few and the salary can't even keep up with the inflation rate. Outside Lagos, Graduates are making do with keke napep driving, the ones lucky are doing Uber. It is even bad enough that some are still managing with Private schools.

The funny thing is : it is still going to get worse anyway because the situation at the moment has somehow been anticipated by the 100 thousands of Nigerians who attempted to cross the Mediterranean desert to Europe in 2016. Right now, some courageous Nigerians are also entering Brazil to take a direct ground route to the Southern border of USA in Mexico to lay asylum claims. Do you know how crazy it is for employed Nigerians to save over 5m and travel for an uncertain asylum filing in the USA?

Nigeria's economic doom is inevitable at this point and people are beginning to take active steps to protect themselves and their immediate family.

Goodluck to anyone celebrating the emergence of a new Governor. I hope that atleast it counts for something.

The whole noise about Abia is a bit funny anyway.

If Abia state is badly governed, which states are been properly governed in Nigeria then?

Power will shift from one monstrous political elite to another on the account of being in different political parties and people will troop to the streets to celebrate. I will never understand the motivation.

Even with the level of enthusiasm and happiness in Abia for electing a "better Governor" , there is nobody in Abia Today that will be offered a US passport that will reject it because they now have a better Governor.

Nigerians and self deceit. SMH. cry

In this 2023 election, several RECS have rejected election results from LG/constituents with padded and inflated votes.

On top of my head, I remember that the initial results from Okowa's LG in the Presidential results was outrightly rejected by Delta's Returning officer. So many Returning officers did similar thing, nothing special.

Shouldn't Tinubu ruling in absentia be a thing of joy to you or don't you consider him grossly incompetent and corrupt anymore?

Personally, I'm not totally against Tinubu ruling in absentia especially when you consider the gradual deterioration of his physical and mental well being. So, him avoiding ruling the country directly seems like a plus to me. The only skepticism in me regarding the issue is how efficient Shettima can be? His CV does not really inspire me to believe he is a competent administrator. Just another "build infrastructure and pay salaries" Governor.

You should only worry about Tinubu's consistent overseas travel if you consider him a better leader than Shettima. That way, his consistent travels will translate to him handing over the reins of power to an inferior VP.

Apart from the job invites it gets you, it also gives you competitive advantage in scholarship and economic opportunities.

Must commend the guys collecting taxes in Lagos and I’m sure they’ll do better.

Said it the other day many people don’t pay tax…. 30,000 Naira per year from 1million people is about 30bill if my maths is correct….Now imagine if we increase that number
You are right on this.

Nigeria's tax net is too thin. Anybody saying otherwise does not know what he/she is saying. Nobody is saying Nigerians are undertaxed but the number of working people paying tax is too low.

If Nigeria's tax net is expanded to cover more persons, the country revenue will surely grow but it won't make any difference anyway because Nigeria's government of all levels is too incompetent. They will end up using the money to recruit more civil servants to come and do nothing, basically just a welfare program. Different white elephant projects tailored to cater for nothing specifically will also be embarked on, then they will loot the rest.

Like I have said before : In the 2023 Presidential elections, apart from Rivers and Imo, the voting results is generally reflective of the expected voting pattern of each states.

Anybody waiting in court for cancellation of the overall result is just wasting his time.
