Sabon Gari market is burning, Ndiigbo dont appear to care. How many have even commented here and wat are they saying?

That speaks volume. In their mind, no igbos leave in KANO, becos they have been asked to relocate that business.

The east is opening up fast and we need that business more.

^^^I agree with your position!

That land could have been used for a high-quality high-rise estate, a state park (with paved tree-lined walkways, skate-boarding areas for the youths, mini-lakes/ponds/fountains, wooded areas, and well trimmed lawns for family picnics), or an industrial estate!

Onitsha will have to demolish alot of stuff in the center but as at now the cCity is expanding and the Gov has a part to play via security aparatus being present. High rise commercial buildings and estate is still on the card. Onitsha is a commercial city afterall.

Well, the only winners of a war that the losers dictated terms to and for 40+ years, they are still looking to be president? LWTMB! grin grin grin It will never happen in this Nigeria that iboela will be president for another 1,000 years - except of course in the landlocked biafra.

u expect who to read that junk u just type? Are u insane? GEJ till 2019! cool

Three and a half years? Ibolas and lying! Biafran War, 6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Civil_War) was 2 years, 6 months and 9 days; are you so dumb that you cannot do simple subtraction of dates?
Of that time, Nigeria gave a lot of rest time to Biafra, so that you will come to your senses but not until the master strokes of tactical commanders in Lagos brought biafra down on its knees and begging for amnesty, Ojuks the coward iboela commander had fled and 3 M human pawns had been sacrificed did common sense descend into you Igbos. The rest is history! Iboelas rather than give credit for the Nigerians that gave them amnesty they now say they were defeated by Egypt, UK, Russia, etc? Well that is good, hope you don't come and blame Gowon and Chief Awolowo, Obasanjo, Adekunle, Alabi Isiama, etc for your losses again? Just go to the countries that beat you and are responsible for the loss of the 3 M pawns because you like to shift the goal post whenever it pleased your lying narrative! Iboelas are pwned for life!

Mehn shattap! Bottomline, Biafra was victorious.

Calculia: Wars are not won on the count of civilian casualty but military casualty. Biafra suffered heavy civilian loses caused by the blockade equivalent to an international strangulation sanction but Nigeria suffered far more military loses at the hands of Biafra with over half a million Nigeria recorded military death. On that count Biafra was victorious.

chino24: You are the biggest clown and non-entity that I have seen since this year!
Onitsha do not need Navy? How do you even live with yourself? A city that hosts multimillion dollars on investments do not need the necessary security the navy will at least provide along the River Niger, when we know that Onitsha/Anambra has the longest shoreline along the River Niger.
Do you know that the presence of navy at that axis will energize investors the more. Just like DISTELL and host of other foriegn investors are scrambling to set up their presence in Anambra. The Naval Base will equally energise the FTZ that is springing up around Ogbaru axis. The Onitsha Port is equally within that axis..
A city of Onitsha standing should even have airforce but am sure that one is on its way coming.
The short and long term benefits of Naval base is endless. It is not easy for such federal presence be attracted but I am sure Obi attracted it because of his relationship with GEJ
[s][/s]

Nna u people have done a good job with this, just make sure the Fed implement every aspect of the project to the latter. Alongside all relevant institutions that comes with a naval base. Anambra Adigo nma!

BuddahMonk: Sorry this is Anambra State, we value our lives, we cherish our resources.
We are Omabala Igbos not Islamic Kaduna with shite Zakzaky State.
We love security of lives and properties, we invest so much on it, our governor is setting the pace on security, the Fed is complementing his efforts, we have things to protect.
Its only fools and criminals that complain when government is trying to provide security.
Why the outcry of security deployment in Ekiti and Osun elections but no outcry during Edo and Anambra election just because you fools have army of gullible and unemployed youths who can be easily enticed with a dangle of 10KG parboiled rice to forment trouble and cause chaos.
There is 82 Div in Enugu, there is Army Barrack in Onitsha and now Navy Base is being sited at Odekpe five minutes drive from Onitsha...we are happy for being protected.
God bless Federal Govt for considering us worthy to be protected, we will welcome any NAF base if they want to site it in Anambra, our youths have works, they dont roam the streets for us to be condemning security apparatus.

We need a Command Secondary School day and boarding schools in Onitsha and possibly Army hospital. These are valuable to the surrounding communities. Next stop off is the airforce.

Each State gets a police commissioner (CP). The 5 Igbo CPs are serving elsewhere, so what's your point? Sometimes Ohaneze can be wrong.
Advantages:
The area will become more developed ala Nigerian style.
Some of the Officers and ratings will be Igbo.
Most of the non-military staff will be Igbo
There will be more new people to patronize local businesses.
There will be a naval presence in Anambra (assuming none was there before)

Abeg leave that hater, dat tribe is never happy with fellow Nigerians but constantly seek the blood of fellow Nigerians. They are blood suckers.

Great development but Navy base don't come without Nigeria Navy Secondary School Onitsha day and boarding schools. This will help alot more igbos seek profession with the Nigeria Navy.

I also expect a Naval hospital and all the other associated institutions. GEJ till 2019, ndiigbo have never had it so good. grin

Why should the rascal Aregbesola announce himself winner in an on going election? Causing voters to either vote for him or give up and return home. APC is a sick party. The election will be settled in court.

pdp was leading then APC started announcing themselves as winner of the election still in process. Can u imagine.

Yes, actually Abacha is infinitely better than Thief Obasanjo .

Absolutely true. Abacha stood for something NOBLE and Nigeria was better off. I am one of those who actually miss Abacha.

‘We’d have fought for sovereignty of Biafra’

on May 06, 2013 / in News 5:42 pm / Comments

By OLA AJAYI, IBADAN
HUNDREDS of angry military pensioners in the country Monday besieged the Oyo State Secretariat saying they regretted fighting against Biafran soldiers to ensure the unity of the country.

They said if they had known that the country would repay them in this wicked manner, they would have fought for the survival and sovereignty of Biafra.

The retired soldiers who spoke through their Chairman, Mr. Mr. Gabriel Oiakhena said, “we have been pushed to the wall. The families of over 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives in Biafra are suffering.

We who are alive are just living as destitute. Many of us have died because they did not have money to treat and fend for themselves. Senator David Mark has spent about twelve years and he has done nothing for us.

When the militants were pushed to the wall, they took up arms and fought with the last pint of their blood”.

Also speaking on the issue, another ex-soldier, Mr. Olatunji Johnson said they came to draw the attention of Federal Government to their 53 per cent unpaid arrears and other allowances.

To prevent breakdown of law and order, all gates leading to the secretariat complex were shut against the angry pensioners.

Armoured Personnel Carrier, five police Hilux Vans and scores of armed policemen were stationed at the entrance of the secretariat.

Displaying the injuries they sustained in the Biafran War and many placards condemning the discouraging attitude of the government, they said it was unfortunate that they were being treated in this inhuman manner after fighting for the unity of the country.

He said their mission to the office of Governor Abiola Ajimobi was to present a letter on their plight to him for onward delivery to President Goddluck Jonathan.

He said, “we will not allow the government to rest until our money and other entitlements are paid. Many of us are still being paid N10,000 as monthly pension while they are wasting millions over there. It is not fair”.

Politics / Re: Bitter Kola And Ebola: What Nigerians Must Know— Health Minister by dontjealousme: 6:35pm On Aug 11, 2014
This is wat the Minister had to say about Maurice Iwu.

Now, what about Professor Maurice Iwu’s thesis regarding bitter kola and Ebola?
One of the things we decided to focus on by setting up that committee is to streamline claims of possible scientific cure, not a situation where pastors and imams claim they can cure Ebola. We might even go to the extent of making laws to arrest people with such bogus claims. We would take every suggestion seriously. About Professor Iwu, we know that quite a number of Nigerians accessed his article through the internet.

What Professor Iwu and his research team proved in America is that in the laboratory test-tube – not in an animal or a human being – bitter kola extract was able to hinder the growth of Ebola virus, that it was able to slow it down or kill it. That research was not concluded according to Professor Iwu himself and he says he is disappointed that the research was not taken to its logical conclusion.

We need now to work with him and that is why we need him. He is a distinguished world renowned professor of pharmacognosy; and he is someone we value in this country because of his professionalism and working with others; we would be able to put all ideas to the test and see how far we go.
This is a serious business.
