You probably have never seen this flyover nor this design.
The flyover was not built as a regular bridge EXCEPT the portion where the beams were placed where it crosses the street below. Before that point, the rest of the flyover is a normal road which is gradually elevated by soil.

That fundamental design is what makes it possible to plant in the median. Those technically sound folks that understand what i have described know that you can actually drill a borehole in the median and it will hit water table because it is same soil is uninterrupted until the water table ! It was never suspended on concrete pillars until the portion where it actually crossed the street. You probably don't understand it, but some folks in the house that have seen it know.

Will this reduce the effect of erosion or destabilise the foundation of the flyover? Wat is your reason for wanting palm tree on a fly over?
