Jennimma:
MY GRATITUDE SPEECH.

It is difficult to express my gratitude and love to you all. You know this saying "a dog wags its tail with its heart"-oh well,I'm like that dog today. I want to say so much, but I can hardly find the words. But I guess I have to start from somewhere.

Here is saying a big THANK YOU to Nairaland, one of the biggest social sites and the master minds of the Miss Nairaland Competition for creating an avenue to enhance confidence and portray the beauty of African women. I'm glad to be part of this year's edition. How can I fail to mention our inestimable judges-MizMyColi(fast becoming my role model),Kachisbarbie(my big mummy),Teeo(hello handsome),Dygeasy(you've an amazing personality) for creating out time from their tight schedules to judge and make sure contestants and voters adhere to the rules. I'd say its a job welldone.

Secondly,I thank my fellow contestants-Rokiatu, Rozzay, Fidira, Temigracie, Cupidora ,MarthaK ,Maureensylvia, Vivly, Africanapple, Nasbsprada ,Omolola1, Angelamina and Annypie for being bold to contest for Miss Nairaland. When,I said y'll gave me a run for my money,i meant it. You're all beautiful and confident. No matter the stage you bowed out,I observed that you put in your best despite the negative comments and criticisms. I'm proud to have contested alongside with you all. We're all winners.

And to my campaign team-TheOptimusPrime Crew. You guys are a blessing and I must boast, formidable. I remember the times I nearly backed out because of the stress-here is DaveP calling me to take more photos at the other hand,MsMariah giving me tips and then again kelvingraphics scolding me when I made a mistake...but you all stood by me and pushed me forward to the crown which was our sole goal. Thank you so much MsMariah,LogoDwhiz,Naijaboiy,Lanicky ,DaveP, Luckygurl and Kelvingraghics(my able CM). I love you all to the moon and back.

Shout out to all my favourite NL writers and Literature section as a whole. Thank you for believing and supporting your own. Out of your precious time, you still answered me when I needed your help. Temitopedaniels words still rings in my ears "no other section takes this crown but Literature" and true to your words, its reality. Nigeria has got talent really, the likes of Royver, JulietAKK, Auderytimms, Repogirl, Prettyspicey, Nimen ,Divepen, Almacherish, Calismart, D9ty7, Virgo, TiffanyJ ,Candy, Temitopedaniel Therock5555 and the rest too numerous to mention are the best writers to reckon with. At a time,I thought you won't support me,but you proved me wrong and for that,I promise to always follow and read up your lovely stories. Long Live Literature Section!

My e-family members have been so supportive.I recall my early days in Nairaland,Lanicky's Chat Thread was the first thread I stumbled on and that was were I made my first comment. You all welcomed me as family and our bond grew from there. I brought the crown home! #shows them the crown# like you promised I would. Prettyspicey a.k.a MamaP, jefferyjamez, charijee, cheriepet, noble4d ,toniro, dre11, sexysapphire, xtarxhyne ,joecutie ,redgem, frankben ,tmx21, jigsawkillah, lorlaahlozz and so many others too numerous to mention. I love y'll plenty.

My shout out goes out to all Uniben Students both freshers and stalites(Uniben Admission Guide Thread) who supported their own and made Uniben proud...we no dey carry last, true true. Thank you, pweetyz, kulkatty ,3coins, neldrizzy ,handie, chizzy94, dozieinspired, kelvin0, kelvindim ,nimen and so many others whose precious monikers I can't recall.
GREAT UNIBEST! GREAT UNIBEN!!!

To all my followers and fans,I'm grateful to know I've people like you following me. Thank you for making your girl, the Queen.I love it when I see people read what I write and commend me. It means I'm doing something good, putting a "feel good" valve in people is an achievement on its own. If I put a smile on your faces, then its good enough for me. Oya,e ku serin(i hope i got that right?) smile for me#lolz#. Let me add another feather to my cap*smiles*
I wish I could tag everyone of you,but if I do,my speech would be a whole page. You guys ROCK! don't ever think otherwise.

One of our family friend told me that when I was about 4yrs old, there was a time I was playing with other kids, I ran & accidentaly bumped myself onto a wall, falling down on my backside. To his surprise, I got up & started laughing grin what a weird kid I must have been then.

Another crazy thing I did as a kid was when I was about 8yrs old, at that time we had a provisions shop that is closed to our house. Whenever my mom would go into the house to sort out other important things, leaving me to attend to our customers. Out of boredom, due to the fact that I love playing with counters (top covers of bottles), I would open an unused bottle & throw away the contents, (codedly so that no one will know until my younger brother found out shocked ) just to make out a fine counter that I will used to potray as the main actor of my counter game. cheesy Of course, throwing away the contents of the mineral is just an attempt to erase every manner of evidence that I actually opened a bottle of such grin To my foolishness, little did I know that I was wasting my mother's hard earned cash! Chai! grin silly me ooo

Whenever my younger bro reminds me of this scenario, we will end up, laughing it over.

All I can say here is that both are to be blamed for not being responsible right from the beginning.

The guy has a phobia for commitment based on what he is seeing around him, which is; most marriages he has observed is turning up sour, hence he's not sure whether if his own marriage will be a different one (which means this guy still needs a lot of answers to questions concerning his purpose & the true nature of commitment with his spouse, something that has been disturbing him deep within his heart) and also being that he's aware of the fact that a lot of financial responsiblities is needed for him to feel secured about raising a family (which is another thing the society wants to make us believe!) & he feels that he has not arrived there yet. But unfortunately, he was unable to discuss these fears with his spouse all these years! shocked And now he has made his intentions known only when she had confronted him. That's too bad. For him to tell her the truth is commendable but after four years, gosh that's a long time!
Probably it might be because he has difficulties expressing his feelings with a woman or that he doesn't want to hurt her feelings or that the lady in question is not the listening-type (which is what I can see from the topic's conversation)

And as for the lady, truly she did the right thing by asking such important question for her to know her stand but why living under assumption all these years when she could have save themselves of such stress by verifying their stand right from the onset? undecided

What is she afraid of? That she will loose her man if she will ever raised such topic? It's better to loose a man (even if he's the best you can find or the man of your dreams) who has no plans to marry you @ the early stage of a relationship than to stay with a man under the assumption that he will reward you with marriage for having stuck with him through thick & thin, only for him to suddenly declare his intentions of having no immediate plans to settle down with you. That's outright insanity! (After he must have wasted your whole time!). It doesn't work that way again. Ask immediately before it's too late, don't keep quiet!

The society is also making things difficult for us to live a perfect life here in this world. I can't understand why someone wants to impose a lifestlye that is unsuitable for others to live just because it works for him/her. That's wickedness if u may ask me........Yes, it is!

We have all been there before so I know what it feels like. There's no need of pretending here

Bolin unlocking a rare earthbending skill during one of his most life-threatening situations: LAVA-BENDING

Jinora finally earned her air-bending mastery
status

General Iroh turning out to be a spiritual pseudo-avatar advisor to Korra when she needs one the most, having lost her past avatar lives

The Regeneration of the lost tribe of the air nomads (All thanks to Korra's wise decisions on leaving the spirit portals opened once again to the physical world)

Lin beifong finally comes to terms with her estranged relationship with her half-sister Suyin & with herself, having lived in a state of denial for several years!

Avatar Korra willing to sacrifice her life & her avatar status just to preserve the revived tribe of the last airbenders, something that dumbfounded everyone including Tenzin

The emotional uneasiness between Mako, Korra & Asami. LOL!

Mako & Bolin gets to meet their long-forgotten paternal relatives for the first time

Truly, Book three is a masterpiece! cool

No job or career will afford U "ENOUGH" time and energy to mingle with Ur kids

Then the only way out is to create or improvise one for urself. Remember, what we are talking about here is your child's welfare & not any other, you still need to bond with him/her before the child grows up to become who he/she is meant to be.

Like I said earlier, it all depends on YOUR CHOICE of lifestyle. undecided

The truth here is that u, as the man, are supposed to make a choice on which kind of lifestyle u're going to live; whether as a family man or as a complete business/career man. Be there for ur child/children when he/she/they need u the most OR pursue ur most desired ambition & miss the most valued moments (that u can never get) of ur loved ones . Period!

And Oh one more thing; if u must live as a family man, BEFORE u marry, u must endeavour to make sure that there are neccessary provisions (especially fianancially) that will meet up the expectations of ur family when the time comes. For example, choose a job or a career that will afford u enough time (even energy) to be with ur kids.

Family / Re: How Can Someone Cheat On You BUT Still Say They Love You? by Donvilo(m): 9:45am On Jul 30, 2014
If there is one thing I have come to understand in this world, it's "FAILURE FOR MANY PEOPLE TO TAKE CHARGE OF THEIR OWN LIVES WHENEVER A PARTICULAR SITUATION THAT PRESENTS SUCH CALLS FOR IT"

U see OP, I too have pondered on this very issue many times just understand the reason why intimate partners (especially those who we deemed/know as a responsible individual) will all of a sudden cheat on their partners & still come around to profess their undying love for their mates, Gosh, u really need to witness the manner in which they do such, most are very emotional whenever it comes to this issue & this will leave u in a very confused state (B'cos we all know that someone can not lie when they look into our eyes!) It's a mystery, really it is!

It's only later on that I came to realise the disturbing truth; it's the inmost desire(and even emotions) within a human being that led way for commitment of such despicable acts, especially those desires that are left uncontrolled! That is why it is very neccessary that once u discover that u have such problem, u seek for a spiritual help immediately! This is not what a physical thing can do, it's something that has to do with someone's spirit. Believe me, I know what I am telling you. Desires & emotions are meant to be controlled & not vice versa.

Jokes Etc / Re: 12 Types Of Slap by Donvilo(m): 12:44pm On Jul 29, 2014
I remember in the year 2003, during my JSS 2 period in second term, we have finished our school schedule & was about to head home for the day (I was so focused on going home b'cos of a my favourite tv show, which I couldn't afford to miss that I had no idea that someone was calling me from the classroom) when someone tapped me from behind & motioned to me to a person calling to my attention from behind. When I looked back lo & behold, it was one of my female teachers, the very one that I am not in good terms with! sad When I finally reached her, the next thing that landed immediately on my cheek before I could do anything was a very RESOUNDING SLAP! Tawaaiiih!!!! shocked shocked I was lost for some seconds, my head felt woozy & my eyes was seeing stars all over me. I couldn't picture what is happening around me that very moment until 30 seconds have passed before I finally realised that I was actually given a dirty slap. Her voice was like "blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah" during those moments I received the slap. It was only after I returned to my senses that I finally understood what she was saying, "Stupid boy! So I have been calling u since & u are acting like as if u didn't heard me, eh?

By now, U all should know what happned next na grin but boy! That slap wasn't funny at all!
