no,i first of all parboiled d rice,den washed it.Next was putting it in a pot,adding d left over stew, curry,thyme,seasoning and salt.After that,i added water to the level of the rice so it doesn't over cook.Before then i had already sliced the carrots,green pepper,green peas and beans.When the rice was cooked,like normal jollof.I fried half of the veggies and added half of the rice to it,stirred and transferred to a cold pot like it was fried rice. I did same for the remaining batch,and food was ready.This method is tastier than adding d veggies to cook, when the rice is almost done.

Now I know why the colour came out like that, i'll try it out very soon

I used fresh mushrooms. I don't really like canned stuff unless I don't have a choice.

That was the case with me, looked for fresh mushrooms everywhere and couldn't find any, looking forward to your next meal

i used the leftover stew made with tinned and fresh tomatoes i had already stored in my fridge.If you use certain tin tomatoes,u can get that color,esp derica.Just make sure the rice is proportionate to the tomatoes to prevent it from being whitish.

How did you manage to get this colour, I have never prepared jollof rice with this colour before, but the ones I buy outside look exactly like this... did you use fresh tomatoes, peppers and tin tomatoes?

Canned mushrooms sucks by the way, Onegai, how did yours taste? Mine tasted raw even after cooking it with the chicken sauce for more than 5 mins
