passing accurately is not easy. if i pull out cleverley's forward passes out from OPTA, you would be shocked. it's just too cliche to say deep-lying midfielders with high passing stats must have gotten it from sideways & backward passes.

passing the ball accurately = passing accuracy
passing leading to goal = assists
passing leading to a shot = key pass

cleverley is better than herrera in the first criterion but herrera is better in the bottom 2. why a player must have better passing accuracy is irrelevant. whether it goes sideways or backwards or skywards is also irrelevant.

i really don't get how you people argue at times. at no point in this argument did i suggest cleverley is a better player than herrera. my point is cleverley passes the ball more accurately than herrera. whether herrera scores more, assists more, does more bicycle kicks or somersaults are irrelevant.

the question is - who passes the ball more accurately?
