See as this one dey argue with himself, you are so quick to prove you are right when you are being questioned that it makes you look desperate

Patrick was referring to someone else, you just jump enter wan defend yourself, if you were not blinded by your obsession to prove others wrong, you would have noticed he wasn't referring to you, now see as only you dey argue with yourself

and the funny thing is you were even correct to start with, so why the need for further validation?

I wasn't excited when Lukaku was announced, and it would have been the same for any other striker. I was more concerned about the RW and our midfield. If Mkhi had continued with his early season form we won't be having this discussion. Aubumeyang will struggle too because we hardly play fast attacking game, just once in a while it happens. He will have to depend on his individual brilliance to get something for himself but that is not sustainable. Messi with his out of the world brilliance can't do it alone. He needs his team to dominate. We need to improve our team play before we can talk about Lukaku. Yes Lukaku has been underperforming but so has his team mates.
Alright, till the season ends

When you put it like this fine but not when somebody comes to ask what Lukaku is doing in/for the team or calling for him to be benched. That is being unfair to his contribution so far. I still insist that there is no striker that would do better than him right now. I don't want to believe he shys away from the box, or was it not him that was going after rebound in the box early this season? Is this not the same Lukaku that was scoring goals early this season? Teams have started running at us, our midfield can no longer control play and you expect Lukaku to score goals. Kane has just two more goals than him, just forking two and people are already calling for his head. Haba
honestly, I wasn't carried away by his early season form, Why? because of the quality of his goals, most were just too easy, though "easy" doesn't mean it can't be missed, I still believe Lukaku's best goal for United in the EPL came against West Ham, his opener.. I am not taking anything away from his quality though, he can be deadly no doubt but I am still not a 100% convinced about his overall style of play, I wanted Aubumeyang though

I Hope Lukaku comes good in the end, with the right set up, he should

Tell me which small team we didn't struggle against especially during that Mkhi sad era. Was it not Huddersfield he had to go to the wings to cross the ball for Rashford for our only goal? Which other small team did we play that Lukaku had someone carrying the ball to him through middle and not all those crosses that defence do find it easy to deal with. Chelsea City Arsenal Liverpool have players carrying balls through the middle creating space but we has to turn to the wings every time when we don't even have a RW. Crosses no dey pass the first or second person but we want Lukaku to score 100 goals with those one one big chance and 100 snap shots
some people did not give Pogba last season this same benefit of the doubt but that's not the point

I can't even count how many big chances Lukaku missed in those games against the so called small teams, he is either blasting balls into the stance or drifting to the right when he is supposed to be running behind defenders creating space for himself to receive the ball, he did this a lot against Watford, I can't count the number of times Lukaku was out of position when Lingard had the ball, Watch the replay of Lingard's goal against Watford and see what I am talking about, Lukaku was out wide and I was glad Lingard didn't pass that ball to him, or was it mourihno's tactics that made him forget how to score a simple tap in against Watford? Or na mourihno tactics na make am forget how to position all of a sudden? I have never seen Lukaku to be an Intelligent striker

This doesn't mean I don't support him, All I want is for him to improve on his positioning and decision making, these days, he barely knows what to do with the ball

It's possible his spending most times outside the box is from Jose cos it wasn't this way at the beginning of the season likewise not in his NT. Or is he intimidated with Ibra coming back and trying to play like him huh That is trying to bring his team into play instead of just running inside
Well, I believe he needs to improve

Same with the whole of our attack except Lingard especially recently
His is worse, for a striker who is supposed to be in a position of scoring goals when the team attacks, you either see him drifting to the right or looking lost

Barca and Madrid have their reasons for drop in form and its not because they have multiple new legs in their team
I repeat, a team that has not gelled won't be top of the table with superior goal difference after 14 matches, it is not possible

If you look at City you will see that those many changes and its taking time for the players to gell together. Watch the games and see for yourself
if it's taking time for them to gel, they would not be number 1 on the log, they won't score the highest number of goals, or create more chances, it is impossible for a team that has not gelled to be top of the league after 14 games

Its not because they are losing its the manner of play. In the last few games they have been labouring the wins, the goals have dried up and they are grinding results, Today, How many genuine shots on goal did they have? this is not like a team that has gelled that was why I said Man Utd is the favourite to win the league
Barca and Madrid don't go firing week in week out, does it mean they have not gelled? are you saying that when they gel they will be scoring many goals week in week out till the season ends? was there not a time under Ferguson were United were scraping out wins and scoring lots of late goals? will you say they were not gelled? what about last season when Chelsea were winning all their games in the beginning of the season till the goals started to dry up?

Guy, it is expected that at some point in a season, you will struggle and it's starting to look like it's City's turn, has nothing to do with hair gel or shampoo, if it was last season, I would understand

Diggz do you now see that the team is still not gelling
so if a team loses, they are not gelling? is a team supposed to win all their matches? so when Madrid, barca, Bayern Munich loses, they have not gelled? so when Man City finally gels, they won't lose a match?

this is ridiculous,

GOAL! Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United (Lingard 63)

The move started when Matic played the ball up to Lukaku on the halfway line . He fed it to Lingard, who surged into space and played the ball to Pogba on the right. He moved into the area and danced elegantly around Koscielny, who commited himself unnecessarily, before passing the ball across the face of goal for Lingard to tap into an open net. It was another clinical break from United, though Arsenal’s defending was again less hope.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2017/dec/02/arsenal-v-manchester-united-premier-league-live

I knew I saw Lingard ran forward with pace with the ball. After the goal I was praising his effort that led to the goal, not his finishing or Assist.

DopeJemi,

You no know ball.
so this one mean say Lingard do all the work? what of Pogba wey run from outside the box with the ball to the edge of the box, kan still bully defender then pass the ball to lingard? wetin he do? soft work?

Pogba was very poor last season from September/October to December. It was in the second half of the the season he started showing good signs.

Smalling did very well against Watford making many clearances, but many were quick to praise Lindelof just because he is picking up. Yesterday, the defence was scattered, but Smalling still tried. I cannot blame or praise one individual from yesterday's game. I am unable to tell if they were poorly shielded by midfield or whether Bailly and Jones would have given us a better stability.

But truth be told, Matic and Pogba couldn't cope with the pace and shift movement of the Arsenal midfield, that was why Herrera was brought.

You are fast to blame Matic, Smalling, Rojo but still stop short of saying Pogba offered no shield to the defense. He contributed two Assists, yes, but the first one was down to the hard work of Valencia, and even my mother could have given that return pass. The second one was a good craft, but again the initial work was by Lingard (I think).

You too try to balance your criticism, Pogba is not a sacred cow you should never be able to tell he was poor when he played poorly.
the initial work was not done by Lingard, it was Pogba that drove with ball and passed to a waiting Lingard

you no know ball
