I recently found out about an app called Skits. It was developed by a guy called Ugo Iromantu and his team.

It basically allows you to create and/or promote fun videos for brands while earning money real time. From what I see, its the first truly social commerce app in Nigeria. It allows anyone with the initiative to create and promote ads for brands and get paid while doing so.

The idea behind it is that social media growth is driven by content and a lot of people are producing this, but a few get rewarded for being popular. With Skits, anyone can earn by creating mobile videos and promoting them.

Typically, this is how it works;

i) Brands create campaigns using the Skits dashboard.

iii) Users create fun videos using the app and submit to the campaigns.
iv) The brands (say, OMO, for example) select and feature videos that appeal to them the most. Brands can feature numerous videos.
v) Once a brand features a video, users on Skits can promote the video to start earning coins, while the creator of the video earns 10 coins each time the video is promoted.
vi) Coin balances below 5,000 can be redeemed as mobile airtime, while balances of 5,000 and above can be redeemed as cash. Each coin is equivalent to N1.
