ISIS militants have threatened to behead Obama in the White House in a video released on Jan. 26.
The video shows ISIS militants standing in the streets of Mosul, Iraq's second largest city, following an artillery barrage on the city by Kurdish Peshmerga forces. In front of the militants is seated a Kurdish soldier who is executed at the end of the video.
Prior to the Kurdish soldiers execution, the ISIS executioner delivered a message in Kurdish which was subtitled into Arabic in the video.
"Know, oh Obama, that we will reach America. Know also that we will cut off your head in the White House and transform America into a Muslim province," the militant says a ccording to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
The militant then continues his threat against other Western nations, saying "And this is my message to France and its sister, Belgium. We advise you that we will come to you with car bombs and explosive charges and we will cut off your heads."
The video appeared to be a response by ISIS against a multitude of setbacks it has faced in the past week. On Jan. 26, ISIS fighters withdrew from the Syrian-Kurdish city of Kobani after a failed four-month siege in which the militant group lost as many as 1,500 fighters.
Simultaneously, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces have started conducting operations aimed at dislodging ISIS from Mosul, the crown-jewel of ISIS' reign in Iraq. Kurdish forces have launched rockets into Mosul in an attempt to target ISIS militants while US forces have regularly conducted airstrikes in the region outside the city.
In retaliation for the strikes, the ISIS militants ended their video by executing the Kurdish soldier.
The militants also included a warning for Kurdistan President Barzani: " This is one of your soldiers' fate, and every time you launch a missile, we will send you back the head of one of your soldiers."

Miss Colombia Paulina Vega has been crowned Miss Universe, beating out contestants from 87 other countries.

Miss USA Nia Sanchez and Miss Ukraine Diana Harkusha were the runners-up during Sunday's competition. Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell and Miss Netherlands Yasmin Verheijen were also among the top five.

Vega said the contests leading to Miss Universe were the first she'd participated in and will be her last, as she's eager to return to her studies in business administration.

The 22-year-old is the granddaughter of a legendary tenor, Gastón Vega.

She has said, "It will be a dream come true to represent the woman of today. A woman that not only cares about being beautiful and being glamorous, but also cares about being a professional, intelligent, hard-working person."

The 24-year-old Sanchez has a fourth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has traveled the country teaching others. She spoke previously about equipping women to defend themselves against crime.

"It's just something that's so prevalent in our society, and why not empower women to take control of a dangerous situation into their own hand," she said.

Miss Colombia was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela. The broadcast included performances by singers Nick Jonas and Prince Royce.

Crowd favorite Miss Venezuela Migbelis Lynette Castellanos was cut after the top 10. The Miami suburb of Doral, which was host to the women during their stay, is also known as "Doralzuela" for its many Venezuelan residents.

Three of the last six Miss Universe titles have gone to Venezuela, where beauty pageants are big business.

Chris Brown is now at the center of a new criminal investigation ... but this time he's the victim.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... when Chris was jailed for leaving rehab back in April and taken across the country to Washington D.C. for his hearing on assault charges, one of his first stops was San Bernardino County Jail.

Chris was only there for a day or so, but procedure required a jail ID. When Chris left, his ID was left with the jailers.

Fast forward to this week ... when someone tried to sell the ID online for $10,000. Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, got wind of it and went to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Dept. and said "What the F***?"

The Sheriff's Dept. launched an investigation and traced the ID to someone in the area. We've learned cops seized the ID and grilled the guy, who insists he got the ID from a friend who got it from a friend.

Cops are trying to figure out how the ID got out of police custody and whether a crime has been committed.

Sometimes it's better to be the victim than the perp.

No fewer than nine persons have killed in the early hours of yesterday when unknown gunmen attacked some residents of Kente village in Wukari local government area of Taraba state.
A resident of Kente village, Wahaba Agyo, who spoke to LEADERSHIP said those that were killed were working on their farm at the outskirt of Kente village when the gunmen attacked them.
He added that since the incident occurred, four persons who left their home to their farm had not returned.
“As i am speaking with you, four of our people are missing. We have been looking for them and we don’t know where they are” the resident said.
Also, some of the residents of the community who spoke to our correspondent said the attack has caused mass exodus of people from the Village.
LEADERSHIP reports that the attackers have killed over 100 persons from last year till this moment.
When contacted, the Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Joseph, who confirmed the attack to LEADERSHIP on phone said it was only four persons that were killed by the attackers.
He further confirmed that four persons who left their homes to their farms are currently missing.
“Although, after the attack by the gunmen, eight people were recorded missing. It was when our men went on search that they discovered the four dead bodies. As i am talking with you, they are still searching for the other four persons that are currently missing,” Kwaji said.

A brigadier general and 21 other army officers have been ordered to face a court martial over alleged sabotage in the war against Islamist militant group Boko Haram, according to Reuters, which cited two military sources.
The charges against the 22 officers were however not specified.
This will signal the first time senior army officers have been put on trial for offences relating to the fight against Boko Haram. 54 soldiers were late last year sentenced to death over mutiny by the Nigerian Army. Six soldiers had last September being also sentenced to death for mutiny.
Some officers have long been suspected of colluding with Boko Haram. President Goodluck Jonathan, last May, said that the terror group had “infiltrated … the armed forces and police”.
The new development may therefore be the result of a Board of Inquiry (BOI), which was last year set up investigate some of the orderlies and aides of Commanders, suspected to be moles in the Army. Sources had said at the time, that following the conclusion of investigations, a General Court Martial will be constituted to try the soldiers found culpable in leaking the military’s secrets for Criminal Conspiracy, among others.
Boko Haram killed an estimated 10,000 people last year as it battles to create an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram released a new video threatening to attack more African countries after leaders on the continent agreed to form a joint force to fight the insurgents.
“You will see what we will do to you,” Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram’s leader, said in a 36-minute unverified video posted on YouTube, making reference to leaders from Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria. “African leaders you are too late if you start attacking me now.”
The African Union, at a meeting of representatives from 13 countries in Niamey, the capital of Niger, backed plans by a number of states to form a joint force to battle Boko Haram. Chad has deployed troops to assist in fighting the group in Cameroon. Boko Haram has unleashed a violent campaign since 2009 to impose Islamic law in Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy.
“Given the poor history of information sharing and general mistrust between these countries, major coordinated operations involving Nigerian, Cameroonian and Chadian forces targeting Boko Haram’s operational bases and positions are unlikely to take place in the immediate term,” Poole, U.K.-based security consultancy Drum Cussac said in an e-mailed report.
In the video, Shekau claimed responsibility for attacks this month that razed the northeastern Nigerian town of Baga. Carrying an AK-47 rifle and flanked by masked fighters and Hilux trucks with mounted machine guns, Shekau said the group had confiscated military hardware at the multinational military base in the town.

Details emerged during the weekend regarding the prenuptial agreement between divorcing entertainers Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.
The document, said TMZ.com, specifies that five-time Grammy Award-winning singer Carey, 45, is worth $150 million and that singer-actor and "America's Got Talent" host Cannon, 34, came into their 2008 marriage with less than $500,000. He has since earned millions of dollars independent of his estranged wife. TMZ said the document also contained a confidentiality clause, with a $250,000 penalty for Cannon should he violate it, and a $500,000 penalty for Carey.
