Sahara-reporters, the most unprofessional media outlet in Nigeria; only fools would believe this lie. It is really pathetic to realize that 90% of the news we see today where all provided by anonymous sources. The annoying fact remains that these news outlet do not even try to verify the information given to them by the said source...what is stopping Sahara-reporters from making further inquiry into the autopsy report of Prof. Festus Iyayi's death ? What is the intent of those who orchestrated his death? Why did we not get similar allegation from other lecturers who where in the same vehicle with Prof. Festus Iyayi? If the said anonymous witnessed the assassination of Prof. Festus Iyayi, why did he prefer to confide in Sahara-reporters instead of his fellow lecturers or better still his family members? This vile and virulence allegation shouldn't be swept under the carpet, the Nigerian government should follow this allegation with a full intrepid autopsy that would be shown to the world. And if it happens that this allegations are false, the federal government and the Kogi state government should press charges against them. There is only one direction this false calumny points to, the opposition are out of idea to ensure that this strike persist, which has prompted them to publish this paltry effluvium in conjunction with Sahara-reporters, their splinter party. |
I feel very sorry for APC...they will end up working soo hard for nothing. |
I was with the All Progressives Congress train that went to Kano Government House to invite Governor Musa Kwankwaso to join the league of progressives in the country, determined to bring about the change we need. I joined the train courtesy of a friend of mine who was with one of the APC governors present in Kano. I joined the delegation from the airport, at the instance of my friend who insisted I shifted my flight due for Lagos that afternoon. I felt elated that I was being part of unfolding history. Indeed I still feel happy that I was there, especially after the fraternity I saw, the sign of hope for those looking for change as exhibited that day by the reception accorded the delegation by Governor Kwankwaso. Various members of the delegation spoke very well about the importance of joining hands together to remove the incompetent PDP government. Alas, the star attraction at the event, former military head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), delivered something that was every inch a sectional and even shallow. Addressing the crowd at the packed Government House hall, Buhari spoke of “strategic plan” to destroy the North, in reference to the Boko Haram insurgency. He took larger part of his short speech to whip up sentiments on why Boko Haram is “political strategy to destroy us”. Who then are “us”? This politics of dichotomy coming from a man of his standing was, to say the least, unfortunate. It sent shivers of shock down my spine as I looked over my shoulders, to a largely Hausa Muslim audience that were really captivated by these remarks coming from someone who should know. To Gen. Buhari, the excessive bloodshed perpetrated by the insensitive Boko Haram killing squad was not about religion, it was a political weapon. For real? So all the church bombings, all the claims by the sect that it was waging a religious war were not enough for Buhari to realise the dimension of this danger? How would he want the families of those hundreds of people blown away by accursed suicide bombers to react to this? To put it in another way, Buhari was saying that “OUR youths are being USED to kill in the name of politics to destroy OUR region”. This re-echoes what President Goodluck Jonathan said after the 2010 Independence Day bombing in Abuja: “My people cannot do this”. For that commentary on Boko Haram, Buhari has fallen in the same category as President Jonathan. With what had happened to him in the three consecutive elections he stood, many political observers, like this writer, thought that Gen. Buhari will change his ways by recanting his slanted views on national issues. The Katsina-born General was roundly rejected by people outside his Hausa-Fulani-Muslim enclave in the elections he contested under various umbrellas in 2003, 2007 and 2011. The reason is not far-fetched. For a man who fought to keep Nigeria united and later come to head the country as military head of state, Buhari’s latter .day comments fall below the lines of a nationalist, more so one who aspires to lead a country as complex and heterogenous as Nigeria. At the heat of the Sharia debate, a time when self-serving politicians moved to cover up their mess by invoking religion to divide people and win over hapless masses, General Buhari came out to join that charade. His words to the effect that Muslims should vote only for fellow Muslims, came not only as a shocker but eroded the respect many Nigerians have for General Buhari as someone with impeccable personal integrity. That actually set tongues wagging. However, the perplexing thing is, just as you think the man has abandoned his old ways, he would come with yet another myopic statement that would scare everybody around. And, the reality is no one can help him better than himself. A situation where one offends the sensibilities of people directly touched by such a carnage, there is no one else to remedy the situation. After all, the man is not new to such uncalculated utterances that often lead to needless controversy which also erode public confidence in him. Since the escalation of the Boko Haram carnage, Buhari has never come out to condemn the actions as being perpetrated by indigenous youths. Instead, he uses almost every avenue to try to find excuses for what has been happening. The General is so much clung to his theory of conspiracy and the ultimate direction of the conspirators is people from the South or the Federal Government which is being “controlled” by people from the South. Does the former head of state mean Christian, who are in the minority in the North, are the ones throwing bombs amidst chants of “Allahu Akbar”? Or, does he mean the hundreds of families whose breadwinners and other members were killed by the insurgents sacrificed their loved ones to “destroy our region”? No stranger can go to the forests and deserts of Maiduguri to set up training camps and no government, no matter how heartless can start something that would threaten its sovereignty. It is indeed unfortunate that a man aspiring to lead this country at this point in time, will showcase not only sectional biases but also flawed understanding of issues. Militant Islamism is a global phenomenon that is worrying countries from the South Pole to the Northern hemisphere. For someone of Buhari’s standing to fail to acknowledge that this is a problem afflicting Muslim communities all over the world, is worrisome. Boko Haram, as anybody with fair knowledge of world events today should know, is not an exclusive phenomenon. It is part of the global uprising that started from such countries as Afghanistan, Algeria, Somalia, Pakistan and others and influenced pockets of other Islamists in far and near countries. Why is it that Muslims in Northern Mali did not blame similar occurrence to their central government or the Christian in the South? Yes, politics is a game but it should not be such a nasty and brainless one. The formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given hope to millions of Nigerians who have been completely lost hope in the current dispensation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, if characters with biased minds and flawed thinking like General Buhari are the strongest selling points of the APC structure then I doubt if the ultimate aim of the merger could be really accomplished. Because while some of us still believe in the process and the personality of General Buhari (who is very unpopular down here, for his utterances and disposition) his statements are weakening our effort in selling him as a possible messiah for our country. Listening to him in Kano the other day cast a huge doubt in my mind if indeed this man can rule over a united Nigeria, devoid of sentiments. A very silly thread i must say...Federal character! This is actually the problem that has relegated Nigeria into a backward country. The players Keshi selected are doing the job for us, we shouldn't let our prebendalistic and jingoist perception of life becloud our lucid sense of reasoning; OP, one thing i know for sure is that you need to be exorcised from your crass hatred towards the igbo people. Psychedelia: I've also got to add...I find it difficult to understand why you guys can't just appreciate hard work; this song is a great tune. This song is a compensation for all the noise D'banj and co have dishing out to us in the name of music. |

I pity D'banj...he really needs to stop his lewd style of performance, it's not helping his career at all. |
Kokomaster Dbanj was supposed to storm and take over Zimbabwe last weekend at the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival dubbed the “Battle of Africa” but according to reports from Zimbabwe, our man delivered a very lukewarm performance that eventually had him booed off stage. According to AllAfrica, the festival featured Ugandan reggae musician Bebe Cool and local dancehall artistes Winky D, Guspy Warrior and King Shaddy. D’Banj represented West Africa while Bebe Cool represented East Africa. D’Banj was the main attraction and when it was turn for him to perform, he exploded onto the stage amid pomp and zest but soon fizzled out and slumped into near- pornography with some fans. He ran out of steam after exhausting his familiar songs in less than an hour and went into what many revellers described as “hogwash”. His opening song was “Fall in Love”, followed by “Oliver Twist”, “Kukere” remix, “Don’t Tell Me Nonsense”, “Igwe” and “Why Me”. Then he lost the plot. Neither his scantily dressed dancers nor his swag was enough to sway the majority of the crowd that became visibly restless and disappointed. So disappointing was his performance that he resorted to X-rated antics with ladies he calls “Kokolates” on the stage, in a bid to kill time. Among the “Kokolates” was songstress Ammara Brown, who jumped on stage and joined in the dirty dancing. “Let me see all my Kokolates on stage, now shake your boom boom and do the catwalk,” he said, amid boos from the crowd, especially men. Some disgruntled fans hurled insults and obscenities. D’Banj failed to impress and was the opposite of the Nigerian twins P-Square who performed at the same festival last year and left fans asking for more. P-Square were even barred from leaving the stage by fans who craved for more. “This guy should not have been the main act at the show. He has a few hit songs we know that he has performed. Now look at how he is whiling up the remaining time with the ladies,” said a fan in the crowd.

The Desire of every Reasonable Man:My friend Kamsy is my perfect definition of beautiful. Her hair does not glow like the Saharan sun; her face is in lack of the pointed nose and efficacious nubile face we all crave for; her hips does not clatter and natter when she walks, she is in-fact without the lush and sumptuous prism that is today used to express the nature and realism of beauty...but for me, she is a desire; a cynosure of myriad cipher that can only be discerned by those who understand the true meaning of 'beautiful'. Kamsy is the most natural being i have come in contact with; not only does her attitude attest to this fact, her physical outlook makes one wonder about the exceptional-ism of God's creative prowess. Around her face are nestled with carefully dotted spot that contributes latently to the intrepid nature of kamsy's beauty. She does not fit her body into slack flippant dress that exposes the co-joining in-between of her cleavage; neither does she paint her face with several varieties of Frisco, yet she is the desire of all. When she walks, the pace of her movement doesn't by any slightest means portray any ounce of low self esteem...a narcissistic cynic who gets stabbed in the heart by her effortless ability to exhume self confidence through her movement would easily concluded, " Oh my God, this girl is Fu**ing proud!" She is never concerned about the constructed negative stories people filter about her; and even when she is confronted with these stories the serenity and chutzpah of her reaction is one that baffles all: " My dear i didn't say anything like that, but if you are hurt by their lies i apologize on their behalf." "The girl child is more vulnerable to vices of the world, which makes it more likely for them to fall victim of concocted stories; either psychologically or physically...that is why i feel it is grossly unnecessary to try to prove something i didn't do." Kamsy explained to me, when i asked her why she refused to react to a false story one of her pairs was paddling around about her. She does not wear Docci shoes and Versace gown; she does not wear posh designers perfume or exquisite brand, yet, her simple fitted skirt and blouse commands great respect and wins her the admiration of all. When she speaks, the words that leaves her vocal cavity are far too expensive and sensitive to be ignored. Kamsy, tries not to haggle into arguments, but, when she does, it's a clear case of one who is compelled to correct a thriving a-normally. She knows when a situation has been overstressed, and understands the need to curtail it before it escalates to an uncontrollable level. She never fails to correct me when am wrong, when she does, she makes it impossible for me to repeat such mistake in future. She pampers me, flatters me, and then batters me in a manner that remains ringing in my subconscious. Kamsy, understands what friendship is, sometimes her reaction to the problems of friends makes it seem like she is the principal benefactor of that problem. " Hello Sam, are you okay? it's been a while i heard from you." She would call to ask whenever our friendship becomes too distant. Whenever i am in a conversation with Kamsy the urge and desire to express my thought becomes apparently necessary. We could talk for five hours in a stretch and still have many topical issues unvisited. My friend Kamsy is to me a meal i cannot do without; a friend that exist in my imagination and not my reality; a friend i crave soo dyingly* for; a friend any well meaning individual hopes to have. In-fact, i do not have any friend with the name Kamsy, but if ever a Kamsy with these description does exist, she is my heart most desire; the desire of every man who understand what a true female friend should be. |
You guys are already giving me a feel of season 3. |
I am kind of busy now, which has made it very difficult for me to catch up with the season three. But, i must confess, the season 2 finale was mind blowing. No matter how farsighted one is in the matters of series, the final scenes of the finale was one that was never anticipated; it just came out of the blue. |
Herbarium: lolz,u funny die.@op it is BA and not BscI was like, is there anything like Bsc in English? I need not speak further on the above, because you have made me understand why you are yet to exploit the many opportunity at your disposal as a student of English. |
Fraudulent thread. You only gave it the above title just to get our attention. Useless thread...nothing new, still same old story. |
This series is currently one of the best around; a fact that was cemented with the various awards it swept away from other great series like Game of Thrones at the Oscar award. When i first ordered for the series on DVD, i never envisaged that i was on a ride filled with the longing and desire of an Oliver twist. An encounter with this series didn't only turn me an addict, i also became emotionally attached to the characters. I must say, this series is one of the very best i have seen in recent years, and a series i would gladly recommend to any girl i hope to impress by my choice-able clairvoyant nature. Main Cast Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA intelligence officer assigned to the Counterterrorism Center.
