Eight people have been wounded, and at least two people are dead, after a shooting outside the Empire State Building in the Midtown area of Manhattan on Friday morning.

The shooting occurred at Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street around 9 a.m. ET, New York City's ABC 7 reported. The New York Post reported that the incident was the result of a co-worker dispute. The shooter, who was shot by police at the scene, and a bystander are both dead.

The shooter followed his coworker down 33rd Street, and shot him outside of Legend's Bar, the Post reported. He then went to the landmark building and fired into a crowd of pedestrians during the morning rush hour.

Police shot and killed the gunman near the tourist entrance of the Empire State Building, The Associated Press and other outlets reported.

The number of fatalities has not been made official. A press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET.

Police cordoned off a one-block perimeter around the Empire State Building after the shooting. Around 10 a.m., a lone tourist bus headed down Fifth Avenue, and a guide could be heard over the bus's mic explaining they were nearing the landmark. As police waved the bus to detour down 36th Street, the guide was openly mystified. "I don't know what's going on, folks," he said, as the bus turned. By then the bus's passengers were looking up at the sky at a news helicopter floating overhead. Some stood, clutching their cameras.

Along 35th street, hundreds of people stood photographing the scene with iPhones and iPads. Officers could be seen standing in the middle of 34th street around a scene surrounded by police tape. Television producers roamed the crowd looking for witnesses. "Was anybody here when this happened? Was anybody here when this happened?" one NBC producer yelled.

Eyewitnesses told CNN that the gunman was using a rifle or shotgun.

Word of the shooting spread rapidly on social media networks.

"On 5th avenue surrounded by helicopters and police," @CeciliaHalling wrote on Twitter. "I'm very glad I wasn't 20 blocks further down half an hour ago."

House I'm in the process of applying for Masters degree in Austria and one of the documents required is;

• Confirmation issued by the university where the Bachelor or Diploma degree was completed verifying that all requirements for admission to an equivalent Master’s degree program have been fulfilled and the applicant could be admitted an equivalent Master’s degree program at that university.

My question is who is incharge of issuing this particular document because my lecturers don't seem to know what am talking about when I tell them what I need. Please any info would be helpful.

usdane: i have also applied to study in University of VIENNA, AUSTRIA. About to send my Original documents for LEGALIZATION/AUTHENTICATION as requested by the school. The second option is to take your documents to the Austrian embassy in Abuja for Legalisation, but its very costly. So i prefer sending d documents to Austria instead. U r welcome, lets share ideas.

thank you very much @justwise. What I am saying is this,when I helped my brother in getting his transcript last year,my school insisted on sending the transcript directly to the school he was applying for. right now,I am aware that I have to legalize my documents,how will I go about it.

I am about to start the process of applying for any admission into an Austrian University(Vienna University of Technology)to be precise and truth be told,I do not know how to go about it because the last time i checked, that was when my elder brother was processing his application to a University in the UK,the transcript was sent by his school here in Nigeria to the school in the UK,my questions are as follows;

Am I suppose to collect the transcript and other documents myself and take it down to Abuja for legalization by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?
Will the Austrian embassy legalize my document before I send it down to the school?
TOEFL or GRE which one is more advisable to write and it is compulsory?

I will appreciate if anyone with useful information can shed more light on these questions though I still have alot more to ask but one step at a time. I can furnish my email address or bb pin if needed so we can talk in private and please scammers stay off!!!! . Thank you very much
