Hello, sorry for responding late, but since i work a lot, i could not get back earlier.

Kindergeld: is a monthly paid money that you have to apply for at Familienkasse. The money is around 180 Euro monthly for one child and increases with every child. The government pays this money, til the child is turning 18 yrs, no matter how high your income is. But be careful, they only pay Kindergeld to germans or foreigners with residence permit. Asylum seekers are excluded, since they get social money from another place.

Elterngeld: You can apply for it once the child is born. Starts from 300 Euro monthly, depending on if you have worked before in Germany or not. They pay it maximum 2 yrs, to cover for times you are not working. Asylum seekers are excluded aswell, you have to have a residence permit.

If you dont have enough money, you can apply for social support anyway.

Kids are costly here in Germany, cause you have to pay everything by yourself. Normally clothes and food, Kindergarten / nursery school fees, even Fees in primary school. Here in most primary scholls they end their lesson by around 12 to 1 pm. But if you are working and cant pick up your child so early, you can book OGS, its afternoon service at school. They offer lunch, homework help and so on. Also freetime activities like sports and so on, you have to pay yourself.
Finally most of the Kindergeld i get for the kids, is spent for such things, school books and so on...
But better than nothing.

Living in Germany is good, cause you have running water, electricity and its a bit more peaceful than living in Nigeria...but at the same time, one is missing family and friends from Nigeria. Live is different here, work has high priority to Germans. As a black person, you have to work twice as hard to get a job or a good house...

if you live in small towns, sometimes its harder to connect.

But let me tell you one funny thing i discover. If your child goes to Kindergarden or school, try and take part in their activities, parties and so on. By this way you easily connect to other parents and get to know Germans too. Try and learn German a little but, they will appreciate and be kind to you - at least most of them.

Hi, by law there is no way to turn visiting visa into working permit. They will tell your friend to leave and reapply for working visa. Is he skilled in it?? Maybe he can apply for blue card then.

I met people already doing it that way. Naturally they spend some of the money at the beginning, but through working here they were able to pay the wasted money back into the account. I'm not saying that everybody can do it this way, it depends on your will and hard work.

Hi. You don't need to pay this amount every year, but make sure, that this amount stays in your account. If you come to Germany, look for a student job to support yourself, so you don't need to take the money from this account.

Hi, first of all I don't intend to insult anyone with this topic, I'm just very curious.

I'm living in Germany and recently i came across many women (up to 20), who left Benin city to go to Italy. There they worked mostly as prostitute and finally managed to cross to Germany. Most of them are having babies.

You hardly meet Lagos people or Igbos these days, mostly benin city people, how come??
Are these people aware of working as prostitutes here or are they told lies??

Some years back many Nigerians came as students, or through family reunion, even aduro. But this prostitute thing is getting to much...

Check the embassy page for long-term visa. You will need a lot of documents, a valid passport and German skills A1 level. Good luck

Hm i live abroad and we tried to bring my brother and nephew to Europe. Both showed laziness and poor interest, expecting everything on a golden plate, even stealing money meant for visapreparations. So we gave up on helping them, cause we struggle here too, only in a different way.

Living in Europa doesn't mean plenty of money to waste.

Your story is so true!!! Refugees / aduro don't get working permit unless there case has been approved. No hustle without papers.... At least its difficult. No work without speaking proper German in most areas.

And now German government is making fast decision on asylum cases, so they can deport refugees quickly back home. Additional German government signed contract with Nigerian government about refugees. They can now easily send people back even without documents and therefore they pay money to Nigeria...

Best way to enter Europe now is by student visa or if you are highly qualified eg in technical jobs.

Everything here has been difficult especially since many refugees came in 2016...

Hi. Im working with refugees in germany and partly its true that government wants to send some nigerians out, but not all at the same time. Second there is no division between christian and muslim nigerian, they are all facing the immigratiin law.

Let me tell you one mistake, nigerians make, that i have seen: They dont integrate. You see loads of nigerians living aduro for years and they refuse to learn german, only stay within nigerian people. And most nigerian women never work here, never school. So goverment should pay social forever? Sure they are send out...

Sorry if i sound unkind, but thats the bitter truth...if you integrate, work and learn yiur chances get better.
Also single mothers with small children under 3 yrs stand a goid chance of getting s permanent stay...

Hi. Going from France to UK is difficult. Just been there last autumn. In Calais France they check every person twice from French and British border control. The trucks are being searched by police with dogs and sometimes xray to keep Illegal immigrants away. Many people have been living close to the harbor til government sent them away, check "jungle of Calais" in internet.

I doubt know about train connection, bit ship and bus is controlled.

If you have made it to UK you can stay illegal but it won't be fun i fear. No health insurance, problem of getting job and you can't marry without papers....

Hi, it is the same waiting period in Berlin, Germany. Had to wait five months before collecting my new passport. They told they get it direct from Abuja, that's why. Sad but true

Hi. The cost of living depends on the place you live. Cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Munich are far more costly than smaller towns.

Hi, if you study hard enough, you will find a good job later and get a stay.
It's not a MUST to stay with oyibo.... Staying with somebody should never be a MUST. Besides oyibo are human too

Reunion visa is limited to married couples and children, as long as the children are under 16 yrs. I guess you are older than that. Even if your uncle adopts you, you will not get permanent residence, if you are over 18.

Maybe your uncle can sponsor your stay in Germany??

As I live in Germany, there are two kinds of people living here:

1. The unfriendly ones, that will just stare at you, pretending not to understand... Better avoid them

2. The nice ones that even help you at any range and at least try to speak English
