I'm not hating my race. My opening statement in this thread was an overreaction borne out of anger while reading the article, not an accurate depiction of how I feel. However, leaders arose after those men you mentioned and by learning from the mistakes made, championed their nation towards the right path. It's not about how they've failed but by how the people wisened to not repeat what failure them previously. Even in Asia, you can find similar in China and Indonesia as well.
We can't find that in Nigeria. I'll speak less about other black-dominated countries though.

The problem with Nigeria and other African countries is that you want the benefit of white man country without paying the taxes, without a capitalist industrial system...which you will now tell me is oppressive. Without the law and order, and without the harsh road they took before they got there.

They gave us the blueprint and we could have simply worked with that to do better. Countries like South Korea and Indonesia that equally faced poverty in the '70s and '80s are incomparable to Nigeria and other West African countries as we speak. They still have their problems, but they've solved the problems of large-scale poverty, failing infrastructures and the dwindling economy we see across the region so far. We in 2025 know more than 19th century London did, yet a large part of our population live no better than they did. It's all an excuse.

The black man cannot build a proper, effective country. Perhaps, the alt right white supremacists are correct. I've read about what a huge dump site Lagos was before colonialism, how the white men came, improved it, erected good drainage systems and water supply, roads and all. And a few decades after they left (I'm being optimistic here), it's descended into the contraption we have today. You can extrapolate this to the rest part of the country and most parts of sub-saharan Africa, major parts of the Caribbean included.

How was Lagos even described again, I recall, it goes like this: 'a creation of the perversion of man coupled with the perversion of nature.'

This is a stale talking point. It might have carried some weight back in 2022, but, as evidenced by Putin's actions after Trump gave him the possiblity for a honourable and face-saving exit, Putin's excuse of NATO is a red herring to mask his true imperialist reasons—land and resources.

Putin has overplayed his hands by continuing to attack when he had assured Trump that peace talks with Ukraine were a surety. If there is one attribute of Trump that has remained ever so steadfastly even as he matured, it is that you do not try to openly fool and embarrass him like the way Putin just did.
