urchiu:do you mean university of reading |
justwise:That sounds more straight forward!!the solution is just to print along your statement of account showing funds or just show evidence of funds where ever you have them.and try to find out how your school wants you to pay the remaining fees if you have not paid all.and dont trigger them to ask for it lool!!!nice one just wise well said!! and if you do not have all this then know you are gambling with chances they may ask and they may not!!! |
dellman:dellman yea the embassy calls the bank sometimes to verify accounts.sometimes they do not and sometimes they do if they feel there is need to.but the good thing about it is that it shows they are working and they are about to take there decision but want to verify all is intact and its a positive step.they normally give visa when the verification is successful.like the poster above said we just hope the bank gave them the information they want.i want you to be positive in all situations!!dont panic be relaxed!!!!! you have played your role relax while they are working k!!!you would soon hear from them! |
dellman:HMM ABOUT THE SHOWING OF MAINTENANCE FUNDS AT THE AIRPORT I HAVE NOT HEARD THEM REQUESTING FOR IT AT THE AIRPORT.I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THAT WOULD WORK OUT BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT STATED IT ANYWHERE THAT WE SHOULD BRING THAT TO THE AIRPORT!!BUT ON THE OTHER SIDE IT WOULDN'T BE NICE FOR ANYONE TO THROW THAT AWAY SO WHAT I HAVE SIMPLY DONE IS TO PRINT MY STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT AND TAKE IT ALONG WITH ME.AND IT WOULD NOT BE OLDER THAN A MONTH BEFORE I TRAVEL WITH THE STATEMENT. I AM JUST DOING THIS SO I WOULD NOT BE A SCAPE GOAT.BUT TO BE HONEST I DON'T THINK IT WOULD MAKE SENSE IF THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE DOING.BUT HAVE HEARD THAT SOME SCHOOLS REQUEST IT TO VERIFY AND AM SURE THE SCHOOLS ARE DOING IT SO NO STUDENT WOULD PUT THEM IN TROUBLE.IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR AGREEMENT WITH YOUR SCHOOL ON PAYMENT OF FEES.LIKE ME SCHOOL COLLECTS HALF PAYMENT INITIALLY AND YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PAY THE REST IN THREE INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS.IT VARIES FROM SCHOOL TO SCHOOL SO YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOUR SCHOOL SAYS ABOUT PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING FEES.BUT PLEASE I AM USING THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ASK EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM WHO HAVE IDEAS ON WHAT IS GOING ON ABOUT VERIFYING FEES TO POST THERE VIEWS SO WE CAN ALL TALK IT OUT CHEERS |

congratulation to everyone who have gotten there visas too.i guess visa applications is getting better and more straight forward now.if u present all the required documents you have a good chance of getting your visa unlike 4 years ago when they return your documents with ready made refusals without going through your applications .i guess the new laws have made it much easier for them to verify and work well with we Nigerians because initially the problem came from Nigerians tendering fake documents.i did my application last month and got my visa.i was refused twice last year.my writing now is just to plead with everyone that have gotten visas and are yet to get visas is that we should please help maintain this new revolution that is going on now.let us not corrupt this system or we would harden the ecos minds towards people coming at our back.lets not spoil it for them.a lot of problems we face with the embassy today was caused by people that where in front of us.lets not tender fake documents.lets be honest and straight forward with them.i can see now that a lot of people are getting worried about the school verifying the money when one gets to London.please and please plan very well and don't let us get into trouble.PRAY AND PUT YOUR SITUATION TO THE LORD AND PLEASE PLAN.DON'T JUST SIT AND THINK MIRACLE Would FALL ON YOU.THINK AND PLAN AHEAD.JESUS CHRIST WOULD CONTINUE TO BE OUR STRENGTH IN JESUS NAME!!AMEN!!!! AND HE WOULD CONTINUE TO PROVIDE FOR US IN JESUS NAME AMEN!!AND IF THERE IS ANYONE THAT IS HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE SCHOOL VERIFYING THE MONEY THE LORD JESUS WOULD PROVIDE THE MONEY AND MAKE EVERYTHING GO WELL BY THE TIME YOU ARRIVE UK IN JESUS NAME AMEN!!!U SHALL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME IN JESUS NAME AMEN!!GO AND PROSPER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!!! please lets live the right way and eradicate corruption in our society.i love Nigeria and am proud to be a witness to the revolution taking place.lets maintain it!!! |
Slyp:yea you have photo stands inside the vfs centers and also outside the vfs centers.i took mine outside the vfs center the morning i was applying but don't forget to write your name on the list at the vfs gate if you get there before 8am and you plan on taking it outside.its cheaper to take it outside.but more secured to take it inside |
sawyouwalk:the first mistake you made was to add your brothers overdrawn account to your first application.that would have definitely raised an alarm.even tho you feel cos your brother aint the one sponsoring you does not mean that they would not weigh the person that is inviting you. again your saying no in the second application(that you dont have a relation) could have complicated issues cos the eco may not know your brother is just not around at the moment you submitted your application and you might now be facing the challenge to explain all that in an appeal. but from the look of things it seems you are lucky that the eco did not spot that aspect on your application due to their own mistakes.so you are lucky that you are not facing the consequence of writing to explain yourself.i would assume that the eco did not spot it that's why he did not raise it in your second refusal.so i feel you are good to go since its a student you are applying for this time.my advice is that you should be honest when filling your application.let them know you have been refused before in the places they ask when you are filling the form.and make sure you have sufficient maintenance funds(5400 outside london borough or 7200 if the school is inside london borough) together with any outstanding school fees if you haven't paid all.let it be in your account for 28 consecutive dates and then you can print out and apply for your visa.i was refused in the uk in jan 2010 and told to come home without an appeal which i did and i was also refused in sept 2010 for some mistakes they made and my administrative review was also refused oct 2010 that same year cos of insufficient funds but i got my visa last week after i had done all that was required and also prayed.so don't be scared your case aint has bad as mine |
beeman80:ABEG WHICH AREA .I THANK GOD FOR YOUR LIFE AND FAMILY O |
lopstock:yea i submitted mine at the ikeja visa office on the 14th of june and got my package back on the 30th of june .i know how it feels just relax and be praying daily till u get a text from them ok.i got mine so i hope that encourages you okay |

THANKS FOR THE GOOD WORK JUSTWISE AND OMO TIER4 I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS FORUM SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER AND I MuST SAY U GUYS R DOING A GOOD JOB!!for at least reading all post and trying to advice peeps for real.if you don't know anything about applying for student visa and you take your time to read all this threads you would surely learn the process and whats required.i actually was not going to register cos have just been reading since last year but something told me to post my issue up ere that it might be of help and encourage some other person someday.cheers |
urgent!!!!! justwise:please i still need to understand something ere please.i was told you can apply within 3 months to your course start date and if the course starts september 12 means you can apply anytime from june 12 is that not right please?and also from my idea of the whole stuff i thought it was possible to issue you your visa today but the date which you can start using the visa maybe anytime in august has written on your visa.so you cant travel with the visa until that day please is this true or rather correct please. |
Omo_Tier1:thanks alot i already got a text that i should come for pick up at the vfs center tommorrow.i know my lord jesus would see me tru it and i shall come on this forum with a good news tommorrow!!! AMEN!!!!! |
justwise:@ just wise i was told that you can apply for your visa three months before the start date and they can postdate the date the visas can be used for example they can give now and put august as the date you can travel and my start date is september 12 and i actually did this whole stuff earlier because last year i couldn't reapply because time for resumption was over before i got my application back |
Omo_Tier1:@ omo tier to be honest i did not write anything on the additional part.i only gave them my reference number and stated i was refused last year where i was required to state this.moreover even without knowing that information my ban was to expire April 31 2011 because this was when the one year ban finished. |
@justwise yes o!i specifically emailed the school asking them how the embassy would know i do not need the English test and i got a reply saying the home office would know i am a returning to finish up my course and that am also exempted from the english test.i added my original year 1 transcript for my hnd with my application.the school starts September 12. |
good day house i was refused visa last year September based on the grounds that my mothers statement did not show the required maintainance balance and that i over stayed my previous time studying in the uk so was given a one year ban.i noticed they failed to check my own statement of account which was also added to my mothers and i had proofs that i did not overstay because it was a mix up by the uk embassy in the uk so i did an administrative review and this was the result i got from them below CAS/Visa Letter points claimed Original Points awarded AR Points awarded 30 30 30 ECM Comment: N/A Maintenance Original Points claimed Original Points awarded AR Points awarded 10 0 0 ECM Comment: You have stated that the ECO did not consider both the personal bank statements that you submitted in your name and your mother’s name, also . You are correct – the ECO failed to take into consideration your personal statement. However, even if your personal statement had been taken into consideration you would still not had sufficient funds. You required £9890. The 28 day period was 19/07/10 – 16/08/10. On 20/07/10 the combined balances on the accounts (N1,650,000 on your account and N553,689.74 on your mothers) amount to N2,203,689 (£9542). However you required N2,355,936 (Oanda exchange rate on 16/08/10 was £1 = 238.214 Naira). 0 points is therefore still correct.
