bxg:He is not a bad player but he overrates himself. Always frowning and mouthing off like he has been wronged by everybody. If you earn over even five grand a week in this world, you have no right hunching your shoulders like the whole world owes you something. The guy is not marquee abeg. Make he go siddon spend im money. |
coogar:Guy . . You are not defending well when the opposition is making chances left right and center. If you are having to make clearances from your goal line and the ball is hitting your upright every other minute, then you are my dear pundit not defending well. Fact is they should have conceded and that they didn't was all down to United's profligacy in front of goal than any idea of Newcastle's resilience. They kept the ball a lot better in the first half and the chances were kept to a minimum. Second half, they had bugger all going forward. |
coogar:They no defend anything, . . Should have taken Ben Arfa off early and brought on a big man. They have had good success playing that way all season and would have caused United some problems. |
Newcastle were very dire in the second half and shoulda got nothing. Bloody idiots lost the plot in the second half. Backed them to get a win actually. |
I would take out Ben-Arfa if I were newcastle and put one of either Best or Ameobi. United are there for the taking with such an open midfield |
Tebow did do well this week. Good comeback albeit against a sinking Raiders ship. Brady looked so clueless for about three quarters and this isn't the first time a defence will be holding him up for a major part of the game. The Cowboys and the Steelers did the previous two weeks. I give him two more seasons. Bellichick has shown how ruthless he can be. And Matt Cassell showed a middling qb can be successful in the system so a change won't be that radical. TWO SEASONS!!!! |
The Tebow boy will come good. . . I can just feel it. There is a lot of character underneath the bonnet and that will carry him through. Don't know if John Fox is the right coach for him though. |
Lol . .Can someone tell me why twenty million pounds was paid for the Lukaku boy . The boy is a pile of shit. I am really doubting the Chelsea coach's ability to judge talent. Why he is giving Sturridge a starting place is beyond me. |
coogar:I think you are being a tad unfair. I don't think he did that bad a job. It wasn't the most thorough of documentaries, but for a thirty minute piece, they packed in as much as they could. But in my opinion, the real story is not the pastors anymore. Their motivations are obvious and their modus operandi well tried and widely tested. I think the bigger story lies within congregations. These people that in other contexts would rather die than part with ten naira but willingly fling money at the feet of a sugar toothed con artist who can't even be bothered to disguise the fact he is fleecing them. |
Lol . . Hustler's paradise |
coogar:see bloviating oo talking of mediawhore's . . who lifted an article from timesonline to defend this irrational Cleverley fixation. |
Na wa. . . So we have stats for sideways and backward passes too. Mulumbu and Scharner played better than Anderson and Cleverley. Many agree Albion shoulda got a point from that game and that was in no small part to the way these two played. But seriously, its a shame Cleverley got injured so soon. I am of the opinion United's start was by and large the fruits of a far rigorous pre-season. They looked fitter and were mentally up for the season than everyone else. Chelsea and City have better teams and this will become evident as the season proceeds. |
except that a cursory glance at the chalk boards says you are a pathological liar.Goodness me. . .Are we talking football here or Baseball. When did Stat-Nerds start watching football. ![]() If number of passes made has become the defining quality of the better player, then Mikel is one of the greatest footballers that ever lived. ![]() |
Lol. . . Cleverley is the Saviour returned. Cleverley and Anderson that got outplayed by Scharner and Mulumbu, in a straight up two on two midfield confrontation. I suspect Fergie hopes the two of them can somehow standup to the Barca challenge that has developed the past few seasons. Its not gonna happen and its a grave misjudgement of talent. Anderson hasn't the best pair of feet for keeping the ball and even at his best he was raped by Iniesta in the first C-league final. Yesterday's match was not a solitary tactical misstep. The season might be early but this kinda result was looking more and more on the cards with every match where United thought they could just send as many people as possible forward and hammer them into submission. Norwich, West Brom should at least have had draws and Liverpool should have beaten them. |
NFL don dey tire me jor. . . Certain things just don't make sense. Can someone explain to me how an O-Line that manages to keep Manning's jersey spotless all game has failed to protect any of his replacements this season. And which kain protection these Pats get wey nobody fit dey touch Brady. Its not only a quarterback's league, its a particular type of quaterback's league. Shout out to Aaron Rodgers. I remember when I proclaimed him the best QB in the league last season. ![]() |
I think Fergie should get a large portion of the blame for the scoreline. They were a man down and rather than play rear guard action, they played like the ones with the extra man. You can do that against Stoke or Villa, but City have way too much talent up front to take such chances. Did you see that volley assist from Silva to Dzeko for the last goal. Qualiteh ![]() |
Lol. . . Fergie got a big case of Wengerism. Like Wenger, Fergie let his pride get in the way and went for it even with the odds against him. I knew someone would punish their gung-ho all or nothing style they have adopted this season, sooner or later. They have been getting away with it with eleven men, but jeez man, they were a man down and they were playing like they were the ones with the extra man. Its not terminal, but it is bringing home the truth little by little. This team is not as good as their fast start suggested. |

My instinctive response is Fashola will make a better president, but with some introspection, I am definitely not so sure. I haven't read through earlier posts, but I am sure some would have already pointed out the various compromises that come with being a Nigerian President. It would take someone with a lot more than a modicum of conviction to get things done at the Federal level. Fashola has done a lot. . . .a lot of the easy things. The largesse released to him after Obj left office certainly helped to get many things done at the start of his first tenure. Predictably, even the easy things are not so easy anymore. But the hard things still remain largely untouched. The same big governmentism that plagues the Federal body infests the states as well. Not just big government for its own sake, but big government that actually hinders and eats at the soul and dynamism of the populace. From the heavy handedness of para military state bodies, to an inefficient and corrupt tax system, the state really could do with some remodelling devoid of an elaborate public relations operation. All this while sectors that properly managed would be making tonnes of money for the state and ease the lives of the suffering masses are largely neglected or parcelled off to cronies or godfathers. On the other hand, . . .Please don't get me started on Jonathan. |
Its what amateur coaches do. . . Pack as many forwards on a pitch and expect that will get you goals. |
Worst decision I have ever witnessed in my life. Just opened the midfield right up. . . .Why did he take out Joel. |
Osaze's movement is good but he just seems to have lost confidence in front of goal. I wish they could up the tempo but I can only imagine how much the heat is affecting them. They look like they are really suffering. This is a team on a better pitch and in kinder weather we would dispose of very easily. |
If you are in the UK, SKY 184 |
See how empty the stadium is. Is it not obvious by now, those in Abuja think they are too posh to head to the stadium. In the days of the National Stadium in Suru Lere. . . |
Someone should break Welker's mosquito legs already |
Lol. . . at least some United fans here are not blind. I always thought the first few weeks of this season when United was torching everyone with goals had something of the Chelsea from last season about it. Same way Chelsea scored tonnes of goals the first few weeks and then found the mid and latter part of the season a struggle, same thing I see occurring with United too. They will score a few, but they will concede quite a few too. The only reason they haven't so far is the profligacy of opposing teams in front of United's goal. Chelsea should definitely have scored more, as should Norwich, Stoke and Arsenal for that matter. |
Na wa for all these teams. . .and I thought Paul Lambert was a wily one. All Norwich need to do is commit to getting players forward. They will get chances. |
