Health / Pics-teenager Has Unborn Twin Who Had Hair, Legs Removed From His Stomach by dpedro1: 8:39am On May 27, 2016

According to local media reports, the foetus had hair, legs, hands and genitals.
Mohd Zul Shahril Saidin, 15, had been carrying the foetus since birth - a condition known medically as 'foetus in foetu'.

The boy's mother, Hasmah Ahmad, expressed her relief to local media after surgeons in the north-
western Malaysian state of Kedah performed the successful operation.

Mrs Ahmad, 38, described the mass in shocking detail, saying:
'The foetus removed from my son's stomach was formed with organs like those of a baby – only the nose and mouth were not complete.'
The teenager was only hospitalised recently after he began complaining of pain over the last four months. Mrs Ahmad said she and her family had already performed funeral rites on the foetus, which is now buried in a cemetery.

Her son is still recovering in hospital.

It is estimated that 'foetus in foetu' occurs in 1 in every 500,000 live births.
During the early stages of pregnancy, if a woman is pregnant with twins, one of the babies can enter the other through the umbilical cord. There, it becomes a parasite, depending on its sibling's body for survival.

Usually, it does not survive after birth, but can be life-threatening for the baby that does survive.

Saudi police have arrested a man after he shot a male doctor shortly after he helped deliver his wife’s baby.
It is understood the suspect was angry that the hospital had allowed a male doctor, named locally as Muhannad al-Zabn, to treat his wife during birth.
The man, who has not been named, is believed to have wanted a female doctor to deliver the baby
and was upset that the male doctor would have seen his wife naked.

Crime / Parents Cry Out Over Failure Of Police To Rescue Thekids Kidnapped By Apprentice by dpedro1: 7:30am On May 27, 2016
http://www.peddygist.com/2016/05/parents-cry-out-over-failure-of-police.html
The parents of two abducted sisters – Chikamso Okpara aged two, and four-year-old Chinaza Okpara – say they have not heard any positive news from the police about the kids’ whereabouts since their abduction on May 14, 2016.
They said they had explored all avenues to trace the abductor, identified only as Rose, to no avail and urged the police to ensure that their children were rescued safely.

Rose reportedly fled with the children around 12pm penultimate Saturday shortly after their mother, Ijeoma Okpara, left the shop to buy foodstuffs at a market – a few metres away from the shop on Cemetery Street, in the Ajegunle area of the state.
The incident happened four days after Rose enrolled as an apprentice hairdresser.

Ijeoma, a stylist, had left the children in the care of Rose and a resident, Franca, only to return 15 minutes later and discover that Rose had fled with the kids.
Her husband, Emeka Okpara, told PUNCH Metro on Thursday that except the assurance he received from his pastor that the kids were safe, the police had yet to give the family any positive development after the incident was reported at the Ajeromi Police Division.
He said, “We have searched for them. We have made reports and people have helped us to circulate their pictures on the social media. We have been told by men of God that the children are safe and are being kept within the state by the apprentice. We pray every day for their protection and safe return.
“I spoke with the policeman investigating the case. He said no progress yet and that I should be prayerful. I don’t know the mode of their operation, but they should make more efforts to rescue them. Those are the only children we have. I am very disturbed and it has been difficult handling my emotion and that of my wife. Nobody has contacted us for ransom so far.”
The distraught wife, Ijeoma, said she was surprised that the apprentice could abduct her children.
She said, “The shop is in front of our house and is owned by a woman. I only work there to assist the owner. On Tuesday, May 10, Rose came and said she wanted to learn hairdressing. I told her to come back as the owner of the shop that will decide on her acceptance was not around. She begged me to allow her start immediately, saying she was idle at home. I eventually accepted after much pleading.
“The customer I was making hair for on that Saturday said she wanted to pick something at home, so I had to take a break. I decided to quickly go to the market to buy foodstuffs. The market is near the shop and I didn’t spend more than 15 minutes before I returned.
“On getting to the shop, Franca said Rose went with my children to buy something immediately I left. I became apprensive when she did not return early and that was how we began to search for her and the kids. We went to Turner Street which she gave as her address, but we could not find her.”
The Lagos State Police Command, however, said it was on the trail of the apprentice and promised to get her arrested.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos said, “The police are on the trail of the abductor. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the children and apprehend the culprit.”

Egbuna, who claimed to be a soldier, lives at No. 22, Support Regiment, Ijebu-Ode in Ogun, while Ajayi, an unemployed, is a resident of No. 28, Owoduni St., Onipanu on Ikorodu Expressway.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Joseph Ajebe, told the court that the offences were committed on Jan. 18 at Ajao Road, Ikeja. According to him, the accused were caught by an anti-crime patrol team at Ikeja. “The accused were found inside a parked Nissan Jeep with registration no. KSF 914 AC having anal sexual intercourse.

“Ajayi said Egbuna accosted him and told him to have sex with him, promising to give substantial amount of money and that he will also take him to the club to have a nice time. “Ajayi agreed because he was frustrated and did not have money to fend for himself,” Ajebe said.
. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty. Ruling on the bail application of the accused, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Alexander Komolafe, granted the two men bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties each in like sum. Further hearing in the case has been adjourned to Mar. 7.

Crime / How Ekiti Under-aged Girls Are Turning Into Comfort Women by dpedro1: 3:12pm On Dec 04, 2015

Ever heard of the Chinese World War 11 comfort women? Well, comfort women were a group of Chinese women in the occupied territories, forced into sexual slavery by Japanese soldiers during World War 11, just for the singular purpose of providing emotional support for soldiers.

Though Ekiti is not at war with anyone, neither is it an occupied territory, but a group of criminally minded street urchins, popularly known as area boys have created a colony in Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti, where they have been luring teenage girls, just for the purpose of sexual pleasure after a heavy bout of cannabis sativa smoking.

Strange crime

This type of criminality, where under-aged girls are recruited to give sexual pleasures to drug addicts is so novel in Ekiti, that it almost escaped the radar of the law enforcement agencies, but thanks to the vigilance of the Vigilante Group, what was hidden has been exposed.

Atikankan, a City’s dark spot

Atikankan in Ado-Ekiti, could easily be described as the most notorious area in the state capital, it housed most of the criminal dens and hideouts, where drug peddlers trade their wares openly with reckless abandon, it is also an abode for commercial sex workers, most of the brothels in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, are situated in that particular area.

Once, it is dusk, Atikankan comes alive and trading of all sorts begins. The population of these run-away teenage girls is swelling by the day, and it is instructive to note that most of these girls are from broken homes. They have found homes in the abode of drug addicts, who use them as sex slaves in exchange for drugs and little cash.

Victims of abuse and stories: Tobi Gbadamosi is just 15-years-old, but the young girl’s ordeal in her short span of existence far outweighs her age, she has experienced what many ladies in their twenties, or thirties and forties have never seen in their lives: she smokes marijuana, engage in wild sex and aborts pregnancies at will.

In her words, “ I have only aborted once, then I was fourteen. I had gone to stay with a relative in a neighbouring town when I met a man who eventually impregnated but bolted away thereafter. I returned home to find out that the only option available to save my face was to abort the baby and my mum helped me after she had found out the truth about it,” Tobi said.

How the girls were apprehended

A member of the Vigilante group who had led a vigilante operation to the places where the girls were picked up, Mr. Babatunde Owoeye told Vanguard that “we picked two of them in Atikankan area and the others in Okeila. The parents of one of the girls named Tolu have been looking for her for about two weeks.

‘’When we eventually got a tip-off about her whereabouts from her friends around their house. We stormed the place in a notorious dark spot in Ado-Ekiti, popularly known as Atikankan and we were able to apprehend her. “ She had raised the alarm to alert some tough looking young men in the place who rushed out carrying cutlasses to attack us. But when they found out that we out-numbered them, they took to their heels.

“We discovered that the girls are being camped in the hideouts, made to have marathon sex with the wild young men there who also smoke marijuana and initiate the girls into occult activities.

Occult activities

“Many of the girls had absconded home three weeks ago. A parent of one of them had come to report that her daughter had ran away from home to practice prostitution with street boys, and pleaded that we help look for her,’’ the father said.

Confession: None of the girls who were scantily dressed, deny any of the allegations levelled against them. In fact, they not only corroborated the accusations but also added details.

The 16-year old told Vanguard that she had actually left home for about 9 days before she was caught. Suliya said she had been asked to hawk her mother’s wares when she absconded and teamed up with two other friends to visit their boyfriends’ places.

“I had dropped the palm oil my mother asked me to hawk at my grand mum’s place and followed my friends to visit the boys. I have a boyfriend among the boys. We had stayed with the boys till around 7pm that day and I reasoned that it was already too late so we passed the night with the boys and had sex with them.

“ Since that first day, I was afraid to go back home, thinking that my mother would beat me, so we began to stay with my friends’ in their grandmother’s place. We would sleep there and in the morning, eat and go to the boys’ place and be with them till late in the night and return to the grand mother’s place.”

Tolulope, while relating her own story said, “We all have boyfriends among the boys whose cult name is seven stars in Atikankan. Tolulope , 16, stayed in Ogbando street before she abandoned home for the street boys’ abode. Her mother had sent her on an errand which she was supposed to return to in a couple of hours but which she never came home until two days after.

Unhappy at her daughter’s attitude, the angry mother in a fit of anger, sent her back to where she was coming from. To avoid her mother’s rage, Tolu said she ran off to her grand mother’s place where she has since been staying. “I also have a boy friend among the boys from where the Vigilante group apprehended us. We would leave my grandmother’s place every morning and resume at the boys place and be there, catching fun till late in the night when we return to my grand mum’s place.”

What was their reward for the amorous service rendered to their drug-addict boyfriends. While two of them said they don’t receive a dime for giving emotional comfort to the boys, Tobi, one of the girls, confessed that “ My boy friend buy clothes for me and other belongings such as shoes and bras. He also feed me and sometimes give me about N2500 to take care of myself.” - See more at: http://newsymag..com/2015/12/how-ekiti-under-aged-girls-are-turning.html#sthash.tvlChXdN.dpuf
Crime / Security Guard Sets Master’s House On Fire After Disagreement by dpedro1: 3:04pm On Dec 04, 2015

The police in Lagos have arrested two security guards, Muhammed Kiga and Joseph James, for allegedly setting two houses on fire in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that the two suspects, and one Musa, who is at large, conspired to commit the offence in November, 2015.

A police source said Musa and Kiga were employed to guard a property on Loius Fadipe Street, Thomas Estate, Ajah.

Musa, who owned a motorcycle, was alleged to have had a disagreement with the landlord after his
motorcycle scratched the latter’s car.

The source said,

“They had a disagreement and the landlord banned him from bringing the motorcycle into the compound. That angered him and on November 5, 2015, while everybody was asleep, he set the car on fire. In the end, three cars were burnt and the house was equally affected. It took the intervention of firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service to put the fire out.”

News agencies was told that Musa fled the area, but 20-year-old Kiga, his assistant who had lost his job in the first house, was employed to watch over another house on the street in the presumption that he knew nothing about the arson.

Kiga was said to have employed 18-year-old James to assist him.

But on November 19, two weeks after the first incident, there was another fire outbreak in the new building, leading to loss of property.

Kiga and James were thereafter arrested by policemen from the Ajah division.

The matter was later transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation to unearth the circumstances of the two incidents.

Kiga, an indigene of Borno State, denied having a hand in the two fire disasters, but blamed the first fire incident on Musa.

He said:

“I came to Lagos two years ago to work and make ends meet. I became a security guard in the first house and was assisting Musa. I was paid N20,000 as salary.
“Just four months after I was employed, Musa had a disagreement with the landlord. On the day of the incident, I went to sleep around 12am. He was beside me, but suddenly, he left my side. It was around 3am that Musa went and set the car on fire. I did not have a hand in it.”

Kiga explained that he got another job on the street, and had barely spent up to a month when there was another fire outbreak.

He claimed that residents sighted Musa, sneaking into the property to set it on fire.

The second suspect, James, told news agents he relocated to Lagos when his school principal asked him and his colleagues to stop coming to school after the Chibok schoolgirls were abducted.

He said:

“I was in SS 2 when the principal said we should stop coming to school because of Boko Haram. And because I could not continue to stay at home, I came to Lagos to work.
“I had barely worked for two weeks when the second fire happened and I don’t know the cause of it. I went to sleep around 12am and it was 3am that I heard people raise the alarm.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Joe Offor, when contacted, promised to get back to Punch's correspondent, but he had yet to do so as of the time of filing his report. - See more at: http://newsymag..com/2015/12/security-guard-sets-masters-house-on.html#more

The mastermind behind the Paris terror attacks was today named as one of ISIS' top executioners who even recruited his 13-year-old brother to fight with him in Syria. Belgian extremist Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, is one of the world's most wanted war criminals and is believed to have persuaded thousands of young jihadis to come to Syria, including his teenage brother Younes, ISIS’ youngest fanatic.
Abaaoud has regularly posed with bodies he decapitated and was seen in Greece in January but evaded arrest.

French police have said Abaaoud planned the attack from his base in Syria with help in Belgium and France. A recent video showed him grinning as he drove a lorry full of people ISIS executed before dumping them to a mass grave.

Politics / Exposed! Power Play Behind Buhari’s Super Ministers’ Appointments by dpedro1: 7:48am On Nov 14, 2015

Facts have emerged on the power play behind allocation of portfolios to ministers before their inauguration by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
Saturday PUNCH reliably gathered on Friday that before the allocation of portfolios, the President was faced with the two options of continuous reliance on politicians and building his own political base across the country.
A close associate of the President, who confided in one of our correspondents, said that Buhari opted for the latter and decided to saddle his allies in the All Progressives Congress with “more tasking ministries.”
It was learnt that the President in a bid to build his own political network and strengthen his base, decided to give more responsibilities to his allies.
Apart from favouring his long time allies, Saturday PUNCH learnt that the President had more or less adopted former governors Babatunde Fashola and Dr. Kayode Fayemi as his godsons. It will be recalled that Buhari, who was not regarded as an experienced politician, relied on the support of chieftains, including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; to emerge as the APC presidential candidate at the December 10 presidential primary of the party in Lagos.
At the primary, Buhari got 3,430 votes; ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 954 votes; former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, 974 votes; Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, 674 and the Publisher of Leadership newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah, 10 votes.
It was learnt that as part of the power play, there was subtle lobby by some party leaders before the allocation of the portfolios.
It was gathered that some leaders of the party had expected that experienced politicians, who played key roles in Buhari’s emergence as the APC presidential primary, would get more tasking ministries than those given to them.
Senator Chris Ngige, a strong supporter of the President at the convention, was assigned the portfolio of Labour and Employment.
Also Ogbonnaya Onu, a former Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party is heading the Ministry of Science and Technology, while an ex-Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau, who headed the convention’s security committee is the Minister of Interior.
The Presidency source said that although it was too early to talk about the President’s ambition in 2019, it was normal for Buhari to use his power in strengthening his network across the country.
This, the source explained, partly informed allocation of sensitive portfolios to those who were with Buhari in the ANPP and went with him to form the Congress for Progressive Change.
Fashola is the Minister of Power, Works and Housing while Fayemi is in charge of Solid Minerals.
The APC chieftain noted that the duo were more or less becoming Buhari’s godsons in spite of campaign against their appointments, especially Fashola’s, in the South-West, their zone.
Explaining the influence of Buhari’s allies from his days in the ANPP and the CPC, a Presidency source cited the Minister of Communication, Mr. Adebayo Shittu.
Shittu was the CPC governorship candidate in Oyo State in 2011. It was gathered that when CPC merged with other parties to form the APC, Shittu joined the new party because of his belief in Buhari.
Some members of the CPC, who joined the APC, were said to have left the new party over alleged marginalisation.
The Presidency source said that Shittu refused to leave the APC because of Buhari.
It will be recalled that the Oyo State APC kicked against the nomination of Shittu on the grounds that he was not a team worker, an allegation the minister denied.
It was learnt that not many chieftains of the party had expected that Shittu would be made a substantive minister.
It was also gathered that some chieftains of the party had expected Anthony Onwuka, a professor of education and associate of the Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, would be made a substantive minister, but the President opted for Adamu Adamu.
Besides being an associate of the President, Adamu was said to have worked closely with Buhari in the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund.
The Presidency source, who confided in Saturday PUNCH, said, “You will see that the President is gradually building his own political network. It is a matter of giving great responsiblities to your long time allies.”
A chieftain of the party in the South-West, who further threw light on the allocation of the portfolios, said the President had clearly shown that he was appreciative of the support he got in the zone in the 2015 elections.
He noted that Buhari was building his own political base in the zone. Such influence will be independent of party chieftains in the zone.
He said, “The appointments of Fashola and Fayemi fall into this category. They are also part of the efforts of the President to show appreciation to the South-West.
“He also believes that if any of these appointees performs creditably, Buhari will not need anybody to campaign for him or any candidate he supports in 2019.”
It was learnt that the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s closeness to Buhari was instrumental to the emergence of Mrs. Kemi Adeosun as finance minister.
In 2007, Amosun was in the ANPP just as Buhari. It was gathered that at a point in 2011, he wanted to defect to the CPC.
The APC chieftain, who expressed concern about the crisis in the party, said that three power blocks had emerged in the party.
He said besides the emerging Buhari block, Tinubu and Saraki/Atiku camps had existed in the party.
Atiku was reported to have supported Senator Bukola Saraki to emerge as the Senate President against Senator Ahmad Lawan, the preferred candidate of other APC chieftains, including Tinubu.
But contrary to the claim that he was not comfortable with Buhari’s ministerial list, Tinubu on Thursday said the cabinet would perform.
People entitled to their opinions–Presidential aide
When contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said people were entitled to their opinions.
He said, “Everyone is entitled to his opinion and I cannot stop people from holding theirs.”
Party chieftains laud Buhari
Commenting on the appointments, an APC leader in Ogun State, Mr. Tunde Oladunjoye said that they showed Buhari’s commitment to putting “right pegs in the right holes.” He lauded Ngige’s appointment as the Minister of Labour and Employment.
“Senator Chris Ngige is the right man to provide much needed employment for hundreds of thousands of jobless Nigerians in all parts of the country, especially in the eastern part where there have been protests by youths in the recent weeks,” he said.
Commenting on the issue, a chieftain of the APC, Rotimi Fashakin, disagreed with postulations that the President’s choice of ministers was influenced by anything other than a desire to deliver on his campaign promises.
He argued that the President’s list of appointees was simply a confirmation of his patriotic credentials because he has over the years, shown himself as one President who considers the entire nation as his constituency.
Fashakin said, “The South West supported the President largely because of his persona as a patriot. You can now say Nigeria has a patriot as the President.
“The responsibility given to Fashola and all the other ministers was not influenced by any consideration of strengthening his power base. The entire nation has become his constituency.”
Attempts to get a reaction from the National Chairman and Secretary of the APC, Chief John Oyegun and Mai Bala Buni respectively were unsuccessful. Repeated calls to their mobile telephones indicated that they were switched off.
A response to separate text messages to them was still being awaited as of the time of filing this report 9:45pm.

Politics / Dogara: How God Used Fayose To Pronounce Me Speaker by dpedro1: 4:05pm On Oct 26, 2015

Speaker Yakubu Dogara has narrated how God used the Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose to confirm him as speaker of the House of Representatives. Speaking at a special pilgrimage programme: “A day with Jesus for Nigeria in Israel,” organised by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), which held in Jerusalem yesterday October 25th, Dogara narrated how he met with Fayose during the race for speakership and how Fayose prayed for him & he became victorious.

“Concerning the race for speakership race, it was almost the same story to how I won the election to the House. Some of our members and the powers that be said they did not want a fundamentalist Christian, that I am a fanatic. At a point, I decided to leave everything to God, having realised that human efforts were not working, even my supporters had resolved to accept the deputy speakership offer, which I declined. In the process, I think a few days, thereafter, that I ran into my brother, the governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, for the very first time. When I got to him, I did not know I was coming to meet a prophet, I thought I was coming to see a politician. If they had told me what happened that day was going to happen, I would not have believed it. When we got to him (Fayose), he took us to a swimming pool, told everybody to remove his/her shoes, asked us to hold our hands, kneel down and he started praying. As he started the prayers, I said wow! I have never seen or heard a politician pray in this version before, but I thank God that those prayers really worked for me. Come and see the words coming out of Fayose’s mouth. He mentioned my name, saying ‘I pronounce you the Speaker of House of Representatives’, and he said the God who made his own possible, would make my own possible.”he said
