I showed two friends this material that I have used to make money online, one wanted to buy, and the other friend convinced him not to, claiming that it was a scam. A few months later, the one who discouraged the other came back and bought. He started making money, and that was how the other missed out.

There are friends you shouldn't keep; these kinda friends are gonna ruin you, and you won't even know. I will list them out so that you can verify if you have such friends around you.

Beware of these five types of people who can harm your finances:

1. Enemies of Progress

You will also recognize them by their comments on any wonderful topic that would help others. They are lazy and don't want to work hard, so they want everyone to miss the same opportunity that they miss.

4. Shopaholics

Shopaholics can be dangerous friends to have when you're trying to get out of debt or are aiming to save more. These people find the idea of letting cash sit in a bank account unthinkable.

If you spend some time with them at a mall, they'll soon guilt you into buying something you don't really need.

However, not all shopaholics have the intention to exhaust your resources and they could be oblivious to the idea. It just so happens that they have enough resources to live their lifestyle.

Braggarts are known for putting a lot of effort into letting everyone know how successful they are with their finances, which is rather off-putting.

That is a need.

Surprisingly, a lot of people focus on their wants and look for means to satisfy the desire for these wants and end up overspending every single month. The result is a dry pocket. Differentiate between your needs and your wants and work hard not to satisfy your needs unless you genuinely have extra left to cater for it.

2. Depending on one source of Income

Creating a passive income is one of the ways to avoid going broke. But many people prefer spending money on several things that won’t put money into their pockets.

I know a business you can start with just 2k, but you need to learn the tactics to make money from it. But people would rather invest in things like partying and buying shoes and all.

One of the reasons why we invest is to prevent a dry pocket. The problem, however, is trying to invest in the overview of a quick turnover. Work at investing a certain percentage of your income every month on a long-term asset or a long-term investment programme that can work for your over time. For instance, investing in real estate every month, little by little is one great investment idea I love personally.

3. Ignoring Savings

It is very difficult to pull money together and takes a great deal of discipline to achieve. It is however very easy to blow it all off in just one moment of spending "madness"

If you save 10,000 Naira per month, you will have 120,000 Naira in a year, which is better than having nothing. The good news about having a careful savings culture is that after just 6months of doing it, you will begin to feel more confident, have more peace and less anxiety about tomorrow and you will know you have something to fall back on.

Another great advantage is that each time you save some more, you will watch your account grow a little more and this gets you ready for bigger opportunities. For instance, you can decide to buy a house after 5years, become a landlord, earn rent from your property while you still continue to work, save and make more money from property rentals.

The former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole has defended President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for the World Bank to focus its assistance on the Northeastern zone of the country.



Oshiomhole, who claimed to be present at the meeting between President Buhari and the World Bank president, Dr. Kim Jong, on July 21, 2015, at the Blair House, Washington DC, said people misconstrued Buhari’s position. He said it was “rather unfortunate that a patriotic request made by Mr. President and borne out of altruistic motivation is now being twisted, manipulated and politicised to suit certain political end.”

The governor made a statement saying ” “Mr. President made the request against the backdrop of the devastation of the North East zone and the need for international organizations to rise in support of the efforts of the Nigerian government in arresting the humanitarian crisis in that part of the country.”

He revealed that at the time the president was making the request from the World Bank, his government in Edo State was “also buffeted with the challenge of dealing with internally displaced persons, who came to settle in the outskirt of Benin City without the knowledge of the state government. It took my personal intervention and the cooperation of Mr. President before we could offer logistics assistance to make the location habitable, to avert any humanitarian crisis.”

He also described as unfair, condemnable and politically notorious, any attempt to question such request by the president. He said: “For those who are familiar with the devastation of the North East, where over 20,000 persons have reportedly been killed, with over two million internally displaced persons, it smacks of political notoriety for any rational mind to question the request of Mr. President. The idea of trying to read sectional meaning or ulterior motive to this genuine and patriotic request is grossly unfair, condemnable and unfortunate.”

He commended the president’s style of leadership when he said: “President Buhari remains a statesman who is not only patriotic and altruistic in his intentions, but one whose actions speak volume for our unity of purpose. We should see the country as one indivisible entity driven by common objectives and goals.”
