Ekpotek, justwise, travellland. .pls help a bro. Next week Monday will make it 20 working days since I had my biometrics at tls ikeja. I'm yet to receive a decision mail. The last mail I got was a week after biometrics which was the usual 'application received at Sheffield and being prepared for consideration by the ECO'. Since then no info, I have been tracking on tls site , no show. I sent a mail on Thurs, for which I paid almost £6. No reply as at the time of typing this post. My travel date is close by, what should I do, any idea what may be going on? Thanks! I applied for a standard visitor visa, 6 months.
I got this mail today. What does this mean pls? Justwise, Travelland, Ekpotek.

I'm probably in the same shoes as you are however, mine is a renewal... Mine is clocked 21working days yesterday. And the reason for the intended travel is happening tomorrow Sunday. I planned to travel today. Now I can't make the event and still haven't heard any update from Tls.
I've even placed a call to them on Thursday for which I was charged £20. The feedback was that my application was treated on the 23rd of may. The question from me now is why hasnt my passport been returned? My mom also applied a week before mine and she got her visa and passport. Her visa issuance date was 18th and I was able to collect it for her on the 19th meaning it took just one day between issuance and collection. Clearly there appears to be an issue here...

Now I'm under no pressure to collect my passport and distraught at missing my event.

I hope you get to get yours before your planned travel date.
Aww, it's painful that u had to miss the event. I hope I get mine on time.

I would advise you to exercise more patience especially if your reason for visiting is mainly for leisure. Most times when ECOs are verifying documents especially for first timers(are you one?) they take time to scrutinize documents looking for lose ends, when there is none seen the result is often positive

This is also the peak period for UK applications where the work load for ECOs is much. Let's hope your waiting will be worthwhile, however continue tracking your application as it can be released at any time
Thank you..I ll exercise more patience and be hopeful.

I am also in same situation. Did biometrics April 5th. I sent an email to ukvi and they replied that a decision has been made. They also sent me an email to provide some details for escalation for passport return. Since then, no updates on the escalation. U can send an email to ukvi international enquiries and ask for status of your Visa application.
Thanks, I ll send a mail.

Hello house, today makes it 17 working days since I applied for a business visit visa and I'm yet to get a decision mail. The last mail I got was on 17th may saying "application was received at Sheffield and the ECO is prepreparing for consideration". I'm supposed to travel by 21st June. I have sent a mail but no reply. Can someone please tell me what could be wrong? Thanks!

With this new biometrics, are applicants still required to provide their passport photographs at the VAC?

@ekpotek, @just wise your candid opinion is needed

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Dr9ce(m): 9:18am On Apr 29, 2017
Vicjustice:
The first one that you filed is about the cost of the mentioned items, while the other question is in regard to the total amount that you have set aside for the entire trip which includes the costs of other miscellaneous items that are not mentioned, and might accumulate during the course of your stay in the country. For example: if you stated that the cost of your...
Flight ticket: N350k
Accommodation: N150K
Living costs: N100k
Total: N600k

Remember that these fixed amounts do not include the costs of other miscellaneous items like tour bus rides, taxi fares, tickets for events, souvenir shopping, etc: so, that question is intended to make you state the total amount that you have budgeted for the trip to cover every cost both the foreseeable and unforeseeable expenses.
Does this help?
Thanks Vic justice...This is where I'm talking about

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Dr9ce(m): 5:37am On Apr 29, 2017
Please there is a part of the visa application that asked that 'What money is available to pay for your initial expenses such as accommodation, feeding yourself and any other dependants (if applicable)?
I have already filled in a portion earlier on on travel expenses, accommodation, and living costs. How is this any different so I wnt give a contradictory info. How best do i answer this. Thanks.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Dr9ce(m): 6:34pm On Apr 27, 2017
ekpotek:
Add £200 to make it up to £1300. This is to handle any contingencies that may arise during your trip so you will have a balance of £1100 in your account which is reasonable before your next pay comes in.
Thanks and God bless!
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Dr9ce(m): 3:55pm On Apr 27, 2017
ekpotek:
Be careful. If you state the total amount in your account, as available for the trip. The question is how will you explain to ECO on how you will take care of yourself and your family when you intend to spend all your available income on a trip?
Thanks @ekpotek , I have about 2400GBP in my account(naira equivalent), if I my estimated travel expenses is around 1100 GBP, like how much can i say is available to me for this trip that will likely get me a visa. Thanks for your usual patience and enlightening response.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Dr9ce(m): 8:29am On Apr 27, 2017
ekpotek:
Your net pay after tax is Gross pay minus tax. So your actual net pay is N200K. Yes a letter from your cooperative will help explain the other deduction and hugh deposit.

The cost to you is cost of the trip (flight ticket, accommodation etc)

Total amount you have for the trip is the amount you which to commit for the trip which could be higher than the actual cost.
Thanks, so do i state all I have in my account to answer the second question?

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Dr9ce(m): 7:22am On Apr 27, 2017
I intend to travel soon but I have some challenges. My net pay after tax is 200k which is what I filled on the visa application, but I also contribute to my cooperative at work which reflects on my pay slips. So my net pay on the pay slip and bank statementsis around 156 to 160k depending on other deductionsites which varies from month to month. Please how do I explain this? Then there is huge deposit from my cooperative in April, which I plan to finance this trip, I ll be getting a letter of introduction from the cooperative, will this suffice? Then how exactly should I answer the question below ;
1) What is the cost to you personally for your trip?
2) Total amount of money you have for this trip?
Thanks.
HealthRe: Girl's Leg Amputated In Kaduna Hospital Due To Wrong Diagnosis. Graphic Pics by Dr9ce(m): 1:14pm On Feb 23, 2017
nelszx:
One thing I can deduce from this is:
1. The hospital operates with quacks (auxiliaries aka nurse mu-yi-wa) as no one was there to monitor till it got worse.
2. Quacks in their laboratory (SLT, microbiology or any other groups). A medical lab scientist knows how important a genotype or malaria test is and because of litigation will not fabricate results. The ABUTH MLS have confirmed the initial diagnosis came from a quack (who issues a HbSS to someone who isnt a sickler - quack)
3. They engage the services of CHEW as these people are neither doctors nor nurses nor scientists as their training doesn't provide them to carry out such clinical practices.

Many private hospitals because they don't want to pay real professionals put the lives of innocent people at the mercy of quacks all in the name of cheap labour.

I believe if proper investigation is carried out its either the doctor is a Quack or they operate with quack nurses (auxiliary). It's very certain whoever gave out that result was a quack (they should arrest that one first) and continue with others.

Please patients needs to know their rights always demand for qualified professionals before they touch you be it doctors, nurses, the Medical laboratory scientists, pharmacists etc. Quacks kill more than boko haram

It's high time the various councils (MDCN, MLSCN, NMCN, PCN etc) start doing their functions and not be there just to collect money for license renewals.
GOOD POINTS, BUT DO YOU THINK A DEFINITIVE AND CORRECT DIAGNOSIS OF A PX GENOTYPE CAN BE MADE A FEW WEEKS AFTER BLOOD TRANSFUSION?

Chief I don't think an eclamptic fit would transport her from her bed into a pit some meters away. If it were eclampsia, the doctor wouldn't have simply told them they needed blood and requested for 20k, he would have let them understand that the only definitive treatment is delivery (Ofcus by CS) which would surely cost no less than 80k in that part of Ogun state.
Considering the position in which they found her, the orificial bleeding could have been occasioned by ruptured uterus, ruptured IVC and / amniotic embolism.
The most likely differentials I would entertain are :
> Severe Anemia in pregnancy ? cause
> Idiopathic psychosis/disorientation in pregnancy
> Mystical involvement.
However I agree with you that ANC is very Important to preventing such funny occurrences, and ANC sef is cheap
Well, I guess u read this part “The doctor said he would remove the baby to try to save her and I said no problem, let my woman just be okay,” Eze continued
FamilyRe: Pregnant Woman Dies After Falling Inside Pits Twice In One Week (pics) by Dr9ce(m): 5:28pm On Aug 13, 2016
Two recurrent episodes of fall within days..looks like eclampsia, not uncommon among primigravidas ( first time pregnancy) , the fact that the pregnancy was well over 20 weeks even makes it more likely. She must have had a second seizure, probably with HELLP syndrome which may explain the bleeding. Women, please whenever you are pregnant register for ANC and insist on your BP check and urinalysis. It's quite unfortunate. May her soul be awakened to joyous activities in the world beyond.

Thanks all, so I took the car to automedics workshop at Ikeja, unfortunately they couldn't take the car in as it's a 1999 model and they only attend to vehicle models 2000 and above. However, the technician told me the likely possibilities, said I should change the ATM and air filter. I explained what should be done to my road side mechanic and he did. Car has been functioning
well so far, though I haven't travelled afterwards. Lest I forget, the technician also advised that I use dextron VI cause it has a better cooling capacity.

Car TalkMy Mazda 626 Gear Overdrive Light Blink On The Highway by Dr9ce(op): 8:13am On Jun 06, 2016
Good morningood, I drive a mazda 626, 1999 model, V6. I bought the car 3 years ago, and I have serviced it regularly with my 'local mechanic'.
The problem started 6 weeks ago when I noticed that the car stalls a bit before changing to a higher gear whenever I'm on the highway. Shortly afterwards I noted that the overdrive light was blinking and only stopped when I park, but resurfaces when I'm on top speed on the highway, between 120 to 140km/hr. Now the issue is whenever I m in traffic and I put the gear on neutral, the engine stops, same thing when I put it in park to open the gate. This doesn't happen when the gear is in drive or reverse.i will need your speedy response.Thanks.

Christianity EtcRe: What They Won't Tell You At The Abortion Clinic. by Dr9ce(m): 2:58pm On Dec 13, 2015
Abortion is a controversial topic..looking at what the OP has highlighted, I believe the topic is on unsafe abortion. However, there is an entity tagged " safe abortion", which is carried out by a qualified professional and done when it is medically indicated having taken informed consent. Abortion is illegal in this part of the world which makes this topic quite interesting. From my experience...most patients that seek to get the procedure done by quacks still end up in the hospital with either acute ( immediate) or chronic ( long term) complications which the qualified personel will end up managing. Some may lose their life or womb in the process. The bottom line , legalise abortion and let it be done the proper way! This is my candid opinion.

Pathetic! May her soul rest in peace. Not an attempt to defend anybody, i feel she might have developed DVT, a relatively uncommon complication in pregnancy which was responsible for the leg pains, thrombus could have been dislodged which resulted in chest pain and sudden death from ? pulmonary embolism. This is just my own theory from what i gathered from your history. A postmortem would have bailed us out...but she has been buried! I strongly believe it was an avoidable loss.May her soul rest in peace!

Ever heard of provider initiated testing and counselling? ( PITC). It is a more recent development than VCT. Note that "testing" comes before 'counselling' .It is initiated in highly suspicious cases.
