I find the phrase 'to provide succour to Nigerians' insulting. It implies a patronising view of Nigerians as helpless and perpetuates a narrative of dependency.

Nigerians are resilient and resourceful people who deserve collaboration and empowerment, not pity or condescension.

I laughed out loud at the op's intro. Incidentally, before I read this post, I decided to watch the series this morning and I couldn't finish the second episode. Will keep trying though.

So far, I love the cinematography. Not sure why the producers decided to set the backdrop of the movies in the 80s but I guess I will find out soon. The acting is a bit much in some areas and vanilla in others. All in all, I will give them a score of 3 stars out of 5.

Why not do your own due diligence by providing the address of the said hospital your purported client claims to be in so that i can refute my claims?

Yeah, should defo be a wide bore. When I used to work in Paeds, I'd get a 20G canula in children above 10yrs if there was a risk of shock, either GI or sepsis. Needless to say I saw a lot of shock when I practiced in rural naija. That guy no shock anything, he is just on bed rest

It would be difficult to deduce much from a snapshot. A still may not demonstrate the bubbles so I wouldn't judge from that.
However , we don't know if that canula is actually in situ, for all we know it may just have been plastered over his hand. I always question the use of a size 22G canula on an adult especially when the working diagnosis is 'shock'. At the least, a 20G canula would be appropriate though its not particularly wife bore.

You are right. Forgot to pay attention to the size of the cannula since the one shown is quite commonly used in a pediatrics. Adults should use a larger cannula like you suggested so that's another red flag.

The patient is an adult and most likely should receive large liters of oxygen per minute. I expect bubbles in that humidifier if it is functioning properly

I can confirm that he is stable.

Can we doctors scrutinize the second pic please? He is on oxygen yet there are no bubbles in the humidifier. There is a drip stand with a cannula insitu but no infusion bag or drip giving set running through the stand.

Secondly, who takes pictures as confirmation that one is sick? That's a rookie move. A doctor's report is much more reliable.

All we need is a doctor's report, the doctor's name, qualification(s) and current standing with regards to licence to practice. This way we can hold our leaders accountable for these sudden fainting spells that seem to be plagued them

If I were you, I'd say "most likely", there's nothing really certain about life .
Though, there's the general thinking that women have more longevity than men, but it's still not a given. It depends on life's circumstances and on the permissive will of our creator.

An acquaintance of mine who lost his wife recently, told me that the reason he had recently set up a big provisions business was because he'd thought that he's likely going to die before her. But to his utmost disappointment, it didn't go according to his plans, as his wife passed away at a prime age of 39yrs living behind her hubby and 4 kids.

I tried to be extra for your own benefit and I am glad that it worked.

You were happy to be a man because women are plagued with physiological changes. To drive it home, you prayed to remain a man in your next life. I am sure that you meant well but you made it look like women were cursed or something whereas I actually feel blessed hence my cryptic reply to your post.

In summary, I think that you should follow your own advice. There is really nothing that is certain about this life. Yes, we do have our own unique challenges as women but so do you men which believe it or not include dying earlier than women on an average. That is a statistical fact and the example that you gave is what statisticians tag as an outlier.

I understand. I am particularly grateful that I am a woman because unlike men, I am almost certain that I will live longer and have a better quality of life than men who are my peers. Praying to be a woman in my next life, God willing.

The kind that proves to all health workers worldwide that not all patients can be saved with adequate and proper counselling....and that sometimes, a patient's death is simply of their own making since they chose ignorance rather than the truth.

A classic case of this scenario is YOU!. You have access to the Internet and other resources to confirm what I have said but instead you have stubbornly chosen to wallow in your own ignorance. I can only imagine what your health care seeking behaviour is like.

You can ask around. Child birth is an incredibly overwhelming experience for any mother. My guess is that we are just so relieved to give birth to our babies in one piece, so enduring the pain from breastfeeding is but a little penance to pay.

Secondly, I also believe that we mothers feel that there is really no need to inform the men about what we are going through with breastfeeding. it's not as if anyone can do anything about it. The only other alternative to breastfeeding is artificial feeding and that is not entirely welcomed in our culture. So we endure the pain from breastfeeding for a few more days and all will be over.

Every birth. The reason is quite simple. When the new born baby sucks the breast, the brain releases a hormone called oxytocin. This hormone helps to contract the uterus which serves to prevent further bleeding following child birth. This contraction can be very painful. Almost as painful as labour. I am actually quite surprised that many people don't know this.

In addition to the pain associated with uterine contraction, the nipples are equally painful as well. Not sure why that is. So imagine a mother going through the rigors of natural birth/episiotomy or ceaserian section only to learn that there is yet another source of pain waiting right by the corner from breastfeeding. It is incredibly overwhelming and tear jerking.

The soreness comes from weeks of the baby not latching properly is different contraction pains. Contraction pains comes right from the first day of breastfeeding. These stupid men don't know a quarter of what women pass through from pregnancy to childbirth to raising a child. All they know how to do is talk all sorts of trash about women.

Like some experienced mothers have mentioned in this platform, the initial period of breastfeeding is associated with excruciating pain. This pain eases up over several days, and then stops.
