I guess those guys low key want only Americans and British jare. I will try Scribie as someone suggested. They claim to pay $0.5 to $2 for a 6 minute file. QA does $1.2. Does anyone have any idea how much TranscribeMe actually pays? Like on their platform, not the one they use for ads. So we go know where to gravitate too. These FC calls wan pursue person

No minimum per se but you should be fast enough. Decent speed is all right. Ability to hear what the speaker is saying is more important

Thanks for the reply but, i.have used my both emails. Apart from opening another email is there another way?
.
There is no other way. You have to get through the tests first. The tests are the easiest part and we have the transcripts for all the test. Just open one last email and check page 2. You can't fail the test with the steps there. It takes only 2 mins to get another email address

I took the test twice but failed. Could, the failure be as a result of me using phone? I want a successful mentor to run along with, please. Perhaps, someone that can give me support.
Check page 2 for a surefire way to get onboard. A lot of us failed the test on the first try. We are here to mentor and support one another.
For the test, it had nothing to do with your phone. Could have been anything anywhere between punctuation and misheard words

Thanks greatly, please one more thing, the prepaid card from uba is it necessary or i can just use my bank debit card what are the limitations or advantages/disadvantages of each??
I couldn't withdraw to my Access visa card when it was time to cash out. But I had no issues when I got the prepaid card. You can try yours and share your experience here.

There are no advantages or disadvantages per se. Just that the exchange rate at which some banks will sell to you will make you rethink who you are working for in the first place.

But for the prepaid card, the exchange rate is superb and you don't risk having to sell your funds to exchangers. The rate for the prepaid card is always better than selling to the exchangers and it's safer.

Please i will like to ask, i created a paypal acct. sometime ago but stopped half way due to some ish, so i will like to know, is there a way to convert it to a south african paypal or i create a new one??

Ps: the one i created before was nigeria

It wont work. Open a fresh one following the instructions in that link. Make sure you clear your browser history if you have already tried accessing the old account on your device before opening the new one.

The naija PP wont work because you can't make withdrawals with it. We need a PP account that can receive payments to reap the fruits of our labour

Yes. There is a platform online where you can see all the transactions on the prepaid card

Please how much would PayPal deduct after verifying the account? I want to avoid using my main account by transferring the approximate amount to a lesser priority account. Thanks.
I think close to 800 Naira but just make sure you have like 2k on the card cos the fee for the card too will be deducted. It's 1050 Naira

Sir this tutorial

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L1TiijdFxxx81cj8a1q5rXZAjeidcQyC/view

Is as comprehensive as it gets.

You mean, I'd be able to cash out from PayPal to my bank account if I followed the guide there?

However, what I am not getting is how UBA International Africard comes into the picture. When the guide talks of linking debit and credit card, how do I get the verification code if I link the UBA Africard, and will it work?

Seems the info is a bit outdated.

The info is up to date.

Yes, you will be able to cashout to your prepaid card if you follow the info.

It details the steps to getting a PP account that will accept withdrawals. The notifications for transactions on the Africard will be send to your mobile phone so that is where your verification code will be sent to. You can use another bank card to verify for now and get the Africard when you want to make your withdrawal.

Is this the first test?

Hey, yeah, so you asked about discounts? We don't really offer any to our monthly members, but we do have 5% discount off the annual package, considering you've been a member for nine months and might make sense to switch over to in the annual package, we can prorate the previous nine months. Is that something you'd be interested in? Happy to make that change for you.

Yeah. It's only one test to get onboard. Did this work for you? If it didn't, you can always open a new email and check thorrvik55 and hausadreturn 's posts above for a surefire way to onboard

Please I'm still new to this, is Funding Circle same as iWyze abi FC? I'm seeing calls of about 1.6mins as I just logged and I don't want to start off on a wrong note please.
You don't have to worry about Funding Circle yet. All the calls you will be seeing for now are short calls. If you do well in those then you'll start seeing the long calls.

From what I understand, I will have to open a UBA account? That won't be a problem though. So, can I open the UBA account before opening a PayPal account? quote author=drawnobet post=79676296]
Slack is the work place community where you can get to connect with other transcribers and moderators who can help you resolve any issues or questions. Just sign-up and the bot will put you through.

For the PayPal, you can follow this link to learn how to do that https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L1TiijdFxxx81cj8a1q5rXZAjeidcQyC/view?usp=drivesdk after opening the PayPal account, go to your nearest UBA branch and tell them you want the international Africard. That's the card you'll use to get your funds directly from PayPal. Please note that you must always log into the Lesotho PayPal using the link provided in the document.

Take some time to read the FAQ and help before you start your first job. It is extremely important.

You are not opening a UBA account. You just need to get their Africard. Go with a passport photo and your ID to get it same day, but make sure you tell them that you want the international one

You can actually use your MasterCard and other banks Visa cards or even virtual cards to withdraw to your bank account but we have found out that the Africard works best.

You can start work right away after opening the Lesotho or UAE PayPal even before adding your card. You can even start before opening your PayPal account. All you need do is indicate the email you will be using for the paypal account on the platform and start work. If the paypal account is yet to be opened and you get sent a payment, paypal will send you a notification mail. It is just advisable that you get it all up and running before you start.

Interested... I wouldnt mind to learn

Online companies pay you to transcribe audio files for a fee based on difficulty and length of audio. There are some sites that recruit internationally one of them is https://www.qa-world.com/ which most of us in this platform are on. Kindly visit the site and come here if you have questions

Yes you can be self employed anywhere you are in the country transcribing for a living.

This thread will teach you everything you need to know to start up and the tools needed to deliver the goods.

You would need

1. A PC, tab or mobile phone
2. Affordable internet connection
3. Good head phones
4 Good command of English

Everything else can be learned on this thread. For those of us who have already started transcribing, we're welcome to share our ideas here so that this can be our online community.

To avoid this thread being banned, kindly let us adhere to all the rules of Nairaland.

Should we want to share screenshots, kindly let's block the company and important call info.

Also all forms of advertising is prohibited and will be reported.

Edited 9/7/2019 posted by samsard for newbies. Once you master these, the rest go easy

E.g
Rep: I was gonna, uhmmm, I was gonna tell ya about, about the new product we launched.
What they need: I was going to tell you about the new product we launched.

Punctuation: Hello, Philip. It's Emily calling from CLH Group. How're you doing today?
Cust: I'm fine, thank you. And how are you?

Longer calls will be more complex in terms of punctuation but for a start
A comma before and after a name in mid sentence. A comma before or after a name in salutation.
You're also allowed MINOR corrections for making clear transcripts.
Anyway, read through the FAQ and regularly Consult it while working at least till you acquaint yourself with it's detail

All full company names, PayPal email addresses and screenshots that include confidential company information must not be shared on this thread and will be reported
