Please, my phone is not helping matters so I need a laptop. Please, where can I get a good tokumbo laptop that can serve Weller? My budget is below 25k. Please, give me info as to where I can get good laptop, thanks.
You might not get one that will serve you 'Weller' for that price, but who knows, you might just be lucky. You can check the technology section for dealers. If it's for this gig, then basically, what you'll be looking for is a PC with good ba3 and decent RAM. The ba3 life is key. Will save you a lot.

that call actually discouraged me from working for some days now. I will always check the call duration tallies before I start work from now on.
Gbam! Also listen to the full audio so that you're sure the clip doesn't have ebola at the end. I got released from a call where I had transcribed 17 minutes already because the audio was bad towards the end of the clip. SCC said I should have listened to all statements before starting work. I am still in pains

Pls I need ur advice I have a laptop that I need to change the battery,it will cost #7,000. I also have a smartphone which I also need to change the screen, it will cost #10,000. Which should I go for as I have only #10,000 with me.
7k for ba3 and 3k for sub. Aim $5 per day and buy another phone by month end

Yeah, that's still the best option. If you're not pressed for time

On PC, pressing down (not continuous tapping) on the ESC button, plays the audio continuously. It would just be as though I am listening to a continuous audio without the breaks that the timestamp introduces into it. Audio only stops playing when you take your hand off the ESC key. Great help for missing timestamps.
The only snag with that is that there is no amount of long pressing ESC button that can get the missing audio before the clip starts and at the end of all statements. E.g. if your audio starts at 00:00:05 for example or if the last statement ends at 00:02:49 for a job that has duration of all statements as 3.1 minutes, your best bet would be to download the full audio

So I picked a 6mins call with 2hours duration from l.io.n Insurance, but the call refused to end at 6mins. It had 120 statements and total statement time was 14mins. I ran out of time at 7mins. Is this normal?
Happened to me like 3 weeks ago when I noticed that my amount earned and audio minutes for the transcript that I had just submitted was less than the call duration when I was working on it. Complained on Slack and was told that the difference would be added to my weekly pay manually but that's yet to happen. Since then, the first thing I do after picking a call is to verify the duration of the call before I picked tallies with the total duration of all statements so that I don't scam myself

I was kicked out because my last 10 calls average ratings wasn’t upto 3 .
I had ratings of 5s,4s,3s and 1s.
But you haven’t answered my question.
I have an account already. I just want to know if adding the PayPal from the previous one is safe??
You don't have to use the same PP email address for the new account

D1uncle:
Worth mentioning that you can link up to 5 emails to a PayPal account

My qa payment for this week.

It could have easily been over $90 if all my calls were rated before cut off...

Making $100 a week on qa is not really a big ish like some people here feel. Once u take ur time to study and find ways to improve then you'll definitely be able to cash out big on a weekly basis.

For those asking if qa transcription can be a full time; Yes, it definitely can if u put ur heart to it.

For those that believe the platform is rigged against Africans; I am an African(Nigerian) and I made $81 last week (minus bonus) with back to back 5 and 4 ratings. If you believe they edit ur transcript after u submit, trust me, you will get frustrated and won't be able to take full advantage of qa transcription.

The tin dat has really kept me going is the fact dat I believe whatever a filipino can do, I can do much better because I am a Nigerian
Sweet! That's like 100k a month after deducting fuel and shayo money. Can't wait to see one of us on the Week's Leaderboard so we can tag Arlen grin Congratulations!

Not yet. But I believe one or two of us here should give it a try.

About the exchange rate, is it anything less than 350 or 340?
359 and above per USD

Can one use this card if one is working on Fiverr or upwork?

Also, what's the exchange rate when the dollar is withdrawn into your account?
The exchange rate varies but so far in all my withdrawals none has been lass than 359. As per the Fiverr or upwork, I am not aware if they pay to merchant accounts. There shouldn't be an issue though. Do you transcribe on those sites?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by drawnobet(op): 10:41am On Jul 31, 2019
I was blocked from posting on this thread for a week or so because of the post where I described how to get audios from sites. I only got to know after checking my posts and there was no warning. Luckily the thread was not taken off, but it could have been. Most of us here are familiar with the previous thread that was taken down for still unclear reasons. This is why we just have to be very careful about every single post here. Screen shots, posts, links, adverts (subtle adverts too) and even language because big brother is watching.

So, apparently, one of us snapped, and called Arlen a racist.

To think someone talked about racism here, and then another someone went on to use the exact words on Arlen.
Is there a chance that there are some people that have skipped this thread to start working on QA?
I don't want to believe the person came from this thread.

Yay!

Finally earned my first Cents after so many set backs ..from paypal not responding, to my card getting declined and 3straight low ratings of 1, the fourth trial got me a rating of 4 lol, if you go through the thread you would see my complaints plenty lol.Perseverance is the Key here ..thanks to guys who've contributed greatly to this thread and guided newbies all through the process, y'all are legends. From Drawnobet to throvic and a host of others. THUMBS UP.

The only issue now is d FC UK calls and stuff..would appreciate any guidance on how to go about them..required applications and techniques to use because of the difficulty in transcribing them.

Also how to link different emails to my PayPal because I would love to have other QA accounts to have access to more release tokens as I tend to exhaust my tokens often when I pick difficult calls instead of getting low ratings. Thanks Legends.

Y'all are appreciated.
Congratulations! We are happy for you. However, we're unhappy that you've still not taken the screenshot down despite the mentions. Please do. The survival of this gig depends on little safety precautions which you will get to know more about along the way.

I was actually referring to those that are having issues with their card o .
Mine worked perfectly when I got it .
You were lucky. The customer care agent was meant to ask you what type of card you wanted before filling the form. You may still need to chat them up online or go back to them to find out the spending limits on your card so that there are no issues down the road. Hausadreturn responded from his own angle of experience.

Let's set this straight to reduce our trips to the banking hall and disappointments online. If you tell the CS rep you want an Africard and he/she does not ask you which one, tell him/her you want the international one with the higher spending limit. If he/she looks at you like your talking FC accent abeg shift to the next customer rep to avoid stories that touch.

Not all the staff have in-depth knowledge about this. I also had my experience with them where a staff member told me to go pay into my account first before the card can be processed.

They also charge for the cards so you incur costs if you are given the wrong card.

Hope this helps.

Actually, an African wasn't involved. It was someone else. Arlen was probably just triggered by the people that used the "100" emoji when an African made a comment.
And with the look of things, it has been on her mind. So, she spilled everything out.

Those apologising, you're wasting your time. Those guys no send anybody.
Despite the fact that the points made sense, notice how no Filipino commented and liked the comments, also notice how people from East Africa avoided that discussion.

Just do your work, help people to answer questions if there's a need, seek for clarification if there's a need and that's all.

What are you guys doing by begging on behalf of Africans?
Na only we waka come?
Thanks baba. Them dey reason our matter. Something else triggered her comment. Unfortunately, if they take action it would be without warning.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by drawnobet(op): 2:57pm On Jul 28, 2019
Looks like it was a rating issue. Poor rating could be painful though regardless of the race of the transcriber. But it looks like there could have been other issues over time that warranted the comment from Arlen

Checked slack this morning and I saw this from arrlenn in response to an African:

" and all other good African team members - I need your help because a big portion of the transcribers who are making bad impact to our team output and risking our relationship with clients are for a fact from the African Region. I'm trying my best to curb these people but when I remove one, 10 will follow. Its getting to be really bad for QAWorld. I don't want to have to request to make it very hard for Africans to get into QA World - but I will when push comes to shove. "

This is very serious.
samsard:
Yes. This boys will be doing this with gragra.
Don't get on a platform acting like you know it all while you're delivering poor jobs.
They get on the platform and don't watch the training videos, don't read the FAQ, don't follow the sample transcripts etc.
Shey I told you guys there's a reason why Nigerians and other Africans get kicked out of platforms.
hausadreturn:
I saw it and wasn't happy about it.
She reacted to the guy that made the comment, and that reaction shows it's probably been on her mind for quite a while.
As Drawnobet will say, back-reading helps.
Some people here haven't taken their time to read all the contents here, some people don't even open Slack to read up.

What are we doing na! huh
This stuff has been around since like February...
Let's calm down and take our time.

If it's not because of the opportunity to redo a failed job, and then nairaland, it'll take at least one month to be good in this stuff. Because nobody will even answer us on Slack.
Abeg o.
Were you able to check what went down with the African? Tenshades said it was regarding rating. Give us breakdown abeg if you can so we can take steps and we fit caution them for slack too
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by drawnobet(op): 2:39pm On Jul 28, 2019
Tenshades:
The post gave insight about the rating issues. It seems some QA reviewers are behind bad ratings the transcribers get after hours of pushing in the earpiece into their eardrums while transcribing. They give 1 instead of 3 and give 5 instead of 3.

las las, we go dey all right.
Is it because African's often have poor rated jobs or African complaints much
