Brother dont bother yourself. All you need are two passport photographs that are 5cm by 5cm and with white backgrounds to be tendered to the embassy alongside your other document.. Check d embassy's site for further details concerning d photo..Just go ahead and complete your ds 160 form. You dont need to upload any pics.

rowlandoo: The fact remain that my toefl test comes up this friday so can I shedule the 14th?
Do you mean to say that you have not done your TOEFL test? Are you just gonna write it this friday? If so, scheduling the 14th for your interview may not be good.

rowlandoo: If that is the case I better shedule an appoint for 14th because that is best date I am seen on my emergency dates , or shud I still wait , won't they take all d dates again .

@house

Anyone that got his or her toefl result online earlier than 8 days
Hello brov..I think you might be taking a huge risk here o...As we all know..'a bird in hand is worth two in the bush'. If you can schedule 14th now, please do so sharply so that you can leave enough time for TOEFL result to surface and at the same time have ample time for preparation when visa is granted(AMEN). Sometimes, these results come later than we anticipate o. You have an advantage now..seize it.Did you write the GRE? If you did, was your score in the verbal section very ok? If not, please reschedule to 14th and let's hope for the best concerning your TOEFL result.

Thanks for the prompt response, my thoughts was if I could apply for an undergraduate course in the management sciences with my Waec (2001) not considering my first degree in MCB, I know I could secure admission from the school am applying to as my roomie back in UNI is presently in the school in the states, and probably write TOEFL but my question is this won't the VO inquire what I have been doing since 2001? And can I tell him/her that I have a first degree in MCB, but the question might arise why the sudden change from Science to the management science, and also considering my age at 26, do they consider someone of my age too old for an undergraduate degree abroad? kindly help a brother, thanks once again
Ok bro.Thought you were a novice in this matter but I guess you are not..I am not so familiar with a situation like this as many of the peeps I know go for grad studies. I thought some schools can accept science students into their graduate programs in management sciences provided they fulfilled some prerequisite courses in their first year of school..why dont you ask the department of that school if you can apply for grad studies straight away with the hope of offering some requisite courses during your first semester..they call it probational admission. But if they do not have such policies, I guess you might have to apply for their undergrad degree. But you need to really show a proof to the VO why you love the course so much and must give a reason for offering MCB in the first place instead of management courses. You could try tell the VO how the two courses will be rewarding and fulfilling to you.But I think you can apply for a grad program in that school and then switch department later although it will demand you to write the test and apply as a transfer or fresh student.Try ask your friend there to inquire from the department. The reason I am emphasizing the grad program is that your age seems to be on the high side for undergraduate studies(according to the VO) and they might question you on d switch of fields except you have a very strong point. So the best option is to apply for grad study and then transfer to your desired department when you get there..Anyone in the house that has more to offer can please help our colleague.Thanks.

leadzeal: Guys, I did pay my sevis fee today at cotonou. On my way there was pleasant but on my way back was hell. I got into the 'one chance' folks on my way back.jesus was so merciful to me. Am not goin to go into details but I employ you guys to be careful when goin there. My suggestion is dat u folks use the oda means rather than dis cotonou ti. I hope I get over this.

I was the only one in the cab, to get out 'alive'. Jesus saves.
I really thank God for you o...folks you've all heard o..Please use the other method if you can o.

moluwaseun: @ house, webstradamus

I would just want you to please kindly guide me through the admission and visa process for a study permit to the US, since you have been through this process before, I'm 26, I just graduated from the UNI, B.sc Microbiology, my questions are.. can I apply for an undergraduate program in the Management sciences probably with my waec (2001) or can I apply with my first degree in Microbiology? Better still is it advisable to apply for a Post graduate course in Microbiology? Please note am still awaiting NYSC mobilization for nov. and might not wait for that if I can start up the process, please what are my chances and which procedure do I follow, your response would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello brov. I do understand you are on a cross-road right now which needs a lota planning and wise decision.. But there is something you need to know. Going for a course in management science is wayyyy different from a graduate course in MCB.You really need to know where you wanna end up. If you wanna go for a management course, why don't you visit sites like petersons.com, hotcoursesusa.com,usnews.com etc? They will help limit your search for schools and then you can see their requirements. Might take time but will be very helpful.Likewise, if you wanna go for the graduate studies related to MCB, you can also visit the above sites and check for their requirements..But either way..you will need to prepare for the GRE and TOEFL either the schools waive them or not(so that you don't have issues with the embassy) and you will have to send your official transcripts alongside photocopies of your certificates(or notification of results) to WES(check www.wes.org)..this will enable the conversion of your Nigerian grade to the U.S equivalent. You can then request WES to send copies of your evaluated transcripts to your desired schools..This takes time..so you should be fast at it.And finally, don't bother about fall admission cos it is too late already. Maybe if you are fast enough, you can make for Spring (January 2013)admission if the school offers admission at that period. But you should know what you really want.(sorry for any typos..typed it in a haste).

Busysmat: huhI scored 58 in my TOEFL and goin 2 d embassy soon. Am Scared!
Brov..how did you manage to make that type of score nau? Did u write any other test? How is your undergraduate result like? If you have good undergraduate results,I guess you can just cook up a story for the VO concerning your low TOEFL score..I hope it works out fine for you.By the way, when is your interview?

GboyegaD: I am so happy my other friend got his VISA today. I encouraged two of my roommates in my final year to apply and now both of them have their visas on virgin passports at their 1st attempt. I feel so delighted unfortunately, I do not have full details of their interview.
For those going for their visa interview, I would encourage you to be bold believing that the visa is yours and you sure would get it.
Congrats to the mentor and his mentored..I am happy for you! grin
The time and day you submitted your form is there for the VO to see, what's the fuss?
Just explain that to the VO if asked.
Thanks a lot brov.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part2 by drdolittle1: 7:38pm On Jun 27, 2012
deevick246: If your passport is stamped with a visa, the date it was stamped is usually legible for everyone to see. I know too well the VO's are not daft to figure that out. You can just go ahead and explain to the V0 what you said above if such a question should come up. You will be fine with that.
Thanks a lot brov. I think I will just stick to the submitted ds 160 cos it can be very stressful to fill..besides, I think I can just explain to the VO. How is school going at your end? Are u on skype or yahoo messenger? Wanna ask you some stuff before my interview creeps in.Please check your inbox.Thanks.

phy: If you wish to state that you have never travel before, then I will suggest that you submit your DS 160 before your trip to Ghana. This implies that as at the time you were submitting your DS 160 you have never travel out of the country. On the hand which is what I would do; why do you want to rush to submit DS 160 when you can always submit it a day or 2 to your interview and update it to show relevant info such as your trip etc and that way you are not in any doubt. In all, my assumption is that you will be traveling with your passport.
Thanks a lot phy.I appreciate your suggestion.

Hello my fellow achievers. I need the house to help me on an urgent matter. I have not traveled out of this country before, and so on my ds 160 form, I stated that I have never traveled. However, I will be leaving for Ghana for just three days before my interview day (which is not pertaining to my visa interview or schooling). Should I hold my international passport along when traveling? I am afraid if it is stamped, the VO might ask why my ds 160 states otherwise...Or do you think I can simply tell him or her that I traveled after filling the ds 160 form? Will it sound believable to the VO? Please experienced folks...help me out o. God bless you all.
