ebyadieze: Hello Guys,

Please what do I complete in the section for "Intended Length of Stay in U.S."?
My I-20 has the normal length of study is 36months while my program structure says 22months, which one do I go with?

Also, I do not have accommodation yet and there is a section for where you will be staying in the US. What do I fill in this section?

I appreciate your candid responses.
Hey! Please be advised. Whatever you input must tally with what you have on your form I-20.

Therefore, duration or length of stay= 36 months(according to your I-20)

For accommodation, the answer is 'your school address on your I-20' since you do not have a place yet.

Peace!

Julie55: dr do little-
Abeg no vex, I do not understand what PM means? Do you mean that I should send u an e-mail?
king1 00
Thanks for your help. Concerning home ties, when is the most appropriate time to present my parents' property documents? Is it when Im asked what they do for a living?
sndrmtns
Thanks. Concerning changing of school being a big 'red flag', it should not be. I got a cheaper, and equally good school. That is their wahala o! There is nothing I can do about that! undecided
BeeMee
Thanks a lot. What type of proofs do you suggest. The only strong point for me is the relevance of my course to Nigeria for now.
Can the VOs be questioned? Even Obama cannot change their decision. kiss
Philolos
Thanks a lot.I pray I get through with this cos a lot has gone into it. You are right though. Its well!

One more thing please, when filling reason for previous denials on the DS 160, do I fill the most recent, or all previous interviews attended?
Thanks guys, I appreciate your responses...look forward to more shocked
Julie..it means you should send a private message to me which will appear in my email..but you have to follow me on nairaland first. But I dont think that matters so much for now since you've got many hands available for you in da house.Ask and it shall be given unto you. wink

Julie55: Chei! Dem no dey issue payslips for the place I dey work ooo!
Don't be afraid sis. Your Id card should suffice but you can print your bank statement if possible. When is your interview?

Try find a link between Dentistry and Public Health.

Don't worry about the issue of your B1 visa. Just brace up for the interview. And you need to express ties to your country in every question being asked of you...just link them to Nigeria.

Maybe you should PM me for some of your practical questions cos me no know how to explain in details here o... But yes you can retrieve your former application and then fill the ones that are not automatically retrieved. Then you can submit it. You will then have a new confirmation code. You will then update it on your visa appointment profile and a new appointment confirmation will be generated for you.

Feel free to ask any question on your doubts here.

Cheers. cheesy

TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by drdolittle1: 9:37am On Jul 19, 2012
Julie55: Hello house,
I was denied F1 visa last month.
The interview was so short, the VO was typing MOST of the time. He rarely looked at me.
I was asked just 4 questions-
1)Why Public Health?
Me- I have a passion to serve people, and improve the quality of health for those around me, rising need for public health specialists in Nigeria, etc
2)Who is sponsoring you?
Me- My Dad
3)What does he do?
Me- An engineer
4)What work do you do?
Me- A dentist
I answered fully. No documents were asked. After a long period of typing, he just said, Sorry....and that was all.
I was denied last year also. Same course, though a different school. So this year, I applied to a less expensive, but equally good school.
I have re-applied and will be going soon.
A few questions-
--Im trying to fill a new DS 160, but there is really nothing to change. I filled to first one as carefully, and truthfully as I could.I do not know how else that form could be filled.
--Do I need to snap a fresh passport? I still have copies of the passport I submitted last month.
--How about wearing a good sweater this time around. I felt too cold the other time.
--The 'remarks' section on my I20 says 'all funding subject to Consular Verification' Abeg apart from bank statements, what other 'verification' would they need?
--What else can I do, guys?
Hope to hear from you all!
Hey dear..sorry about the denials.

First, I hope no one filed for an immigrant visa for you and I hope you ain't a current winner in the visa lottery stuff.

Just fill out your ds 160 form as carefully and truthfully as possible but make sure all cogent and sensitive data remain as consistent as possible. Do not alter very sensitive data...make sure they are the same with the formerly filled ds 160 forms. How did your first interview go? What were the questions asked of you?

If your passport aint more than 6 months old, then you dont have any need for another.Just hold at least 2 of them.
Try ask your dad to get a bank letter of introduction that states that he is the owner of the account.
Ask your dad to get a letter of employment from his company too(might not be necessary but may be useful in beating all odds).
Make sure the funds in the account well exceeds the amount on the I-20.

You can put on anything that is decent and makes you comfortable.

Please state the documents you have ready, your graduation year, your present occupation and so on and let us make sure you are well groomed for the next interview.

imperiouxx: It's stressful and time taking asking you to send it through a friend account before it can reach me here. Anyway, this is those I used when paying when in Nigeria http://www.gtn-ng.com/contact.html .They get it paid in 2 days. I used them several times for my applications and wes evaluation.
Oh! That is a nice one. I hope Obusco4lyfe can contact these guys. I wish you all the best.

Bros relax...You can't do that here in Naija cos Nigerian banks dont issue such.Just ask someone you know in the US to help you issue a cheque to them with the details properly inputted on the cheque just as the school instructed. If you do online banking, transfer the equivalent amount of the expenses which the person you are sending has accrued...but you can do this after the person has helped you send the cheque o.
