Please let me known if you have a similar experience or if you know people who had the same experience. Yeah it’s a problem, a big red flag. |

affoncad: Oga,l notice you in canada already, can you share ur honest experience so far as per work search, acccomdation if u arrive with no friends or family, other expenses and the vv to wv route for lmia .it will help others coming, pls no good or bad experience it all learning stages..God bless On accommodation, you need substantial amount of money to spend on Airbnb for a while expect you going the shelter route. On getting accommodation it’s a bit hard you going to need pay stub, credit score , employment letter to get one. Getting Lima sponsored job, is quite very hard, but there a little possibility. There are Many other routes that can be explored, just research. Stay blessed. |

Julieni: Cash or card?
Were you asked about return ticket?
Where you asked about your stay duration?
Which port of entry?
Biko share us info.. Thank you I got 2700$ cash, prepaid dollar card 400$. I was asked just three questions. Purpose of trip ? Why Canada? How many days do I plan on using? Do I have a return ticket? Said yes, it was requested for and my passport was stamped, all in less than a minute. Though I prepared for secondary inspection, cause it’s my first time leaving Nigeria and my first ever visa application. Kindly note though, some were not asked for return ticket, some where asked for hotel reservations/pta. Good luck with your trip |

Chux911: Please guys I need help, how much is the minimum Person Travel Allowance (PTA) I should carry along with me to Canada
If you've travelled recently, how much did you carry along with you I travelled with a PTA of about 2700$, the funny stuff was that the Nigerian immigration did not check and I wasn’t asked at the Canadian border. Different questions for different people at the border though |

Gentlesoul3268: Duration of stay have to tally with your return tickets, if you wish to stay longer you can change your return date on your ticket when you enter that's my 1 cent advise to avoid any quarries.
If you are watching boarder patrol you will understand Duration of stay tallies with my return ticket, I'm due to arrive on the 2nd of a certain month and leave on the 10th of that month. My main concern is Airbnb okay by immigration or border patrol for tourist visa ? |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Dreamchaser12: 9:01am On May 24, 2023 |
Gentlesoul3268: Even common south Africa denied traveler's entry if you dont have a valid paid hotel not to talk of Canada, if you are a genuine traveler you need to pay for the duration of your stay unless you stated in your application that you have a family to accommodate you.
Please don't risk that Thanks for the information, will it be okay, I do actually plan on using Airbnb, I don't know if it will be a good idea to book Airbnb for the 8 days I will be using, I got an Airbnb for about 300$, please is Airbnb a good idea for a tourist visa? |

Emmafe: Most people prefer to pay when they reach the hotel, you can make reservations. Yeah I do prefer to pay when I get there as well, all I have is a reservation from booking, hope I won't be distributed by immigration, I will be with more than enough Pta. |

Emmafe: Nop, don’t make any reservations during your application. Focus on home tie, pof and outline your trip itineraries. Thanks I have a valid visa already, just wondering which will be better because of immigration and border security at Canada |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Dreamchaser12: 12:17am On May 20, 2023 |
josephb: If you are applying as a Tourist, either of the two is okay.
You need a reservation of Hotel if you are applying as a Tourist. You don’t necessarily have to pay for it.
Most importantly; focus on your home ties.
Regards,
Thanks for the information I have a valid visa already, just wondering which will be better because of immigration. |

Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Dreamchaser12: 2:43pm On May 09, 2023 |
For those that have collected their visitors visa from VFS....... please I beg you
1. Book a return ticket
2. Travel light (one or two luggages) for two weeks or a month
3. Make a hotel/Airbnb reservations
4. Don't carry winter outfits (because summer is approaching)
5. Carry at least a thousand dollars with you in Cash
6. Don't carry certificate or resumé with you
7. If you have anything that will implicate you on your phone delete it or a chat with a Canadian boyfriend or girlfriend delete it
8. If that thing is so important and you don't want to loose, I suggest you save it on the cloud and delete it from your device or better still format your device
9. The CBSA officer have every right to go through your device and can still send you back home (yea....they have that right). That's why i strongly advice against flagpolling when converting your visitors visa to study or work permit at the border.
WHY Because you didn't state truthfully at the airport when you arrived that you'll be looking for job or study and remain in Canada
So you'll have to prove THIS if you flagpole
SUGGESTION Apply online instead from inside Canada using the new public policy (140 days processing time).
But if your blood dey hot and you can't wait for the processing time of 140 days, then go ahead and flagpole......it's your funeral.
Safe journey (ije oma) to the ones leaving this week or the next or whenever. I wish you all the best may the land of Canada favour you👋🙏 Thanks for this Information boss, Is it compulsory I pay for the reserved hotel, or pay at the hotel is okay ? Thanks you |

Please do I need to do anything on the new portal?
Or I should just stick with my application on the old portal as though they are treating it too??
Little confused 😖 The old portal and new portal is same application, you don't have to reapply, I got my Bvl checked on the old portal, I saw a link for the new portal here on naira land, the new portal is just for additional Information. |
