I bought a 50amps famicare battery charger for my battery bank (4 200ah, and 2 150ah, 24v).
Connected the cables to the + and - terminal, but the ish is not charging.
Any way to charge a battery bank?

Hello house.
Thanks for the help so far. Now using 10mm wires and had quite a 25-30℅ improvement.
..but issue now is that the inverter does not charge the batteries. A 2kw inverter.
It could be on for hours but puts in 1amps into the whole thing. It needs a lot of power to come online. My gen 4400w funds it's hard driving her.
How good are Zinox ivertetd or any good inverter that does not need huge startup current?

i commend your bold choice going 4 mppt.
don't be discouraged, lucky u it has offered u a real opportunity to gain experience you can't buy off d shelves.

by the way it is too early to determine mppt is harvesting less using 2 to 3hrs. in my view.
1.check if ur cables is rated > 6mm (beta if is 10-16mm awg), if OK then

2. disconnect all ur PV config. if ur running 3x2, load & test each set independently, u will surely notice a set probably from ur last setup down d line drawing you down.

3. consider reviewing the type of ur grounding style.

however, try and draw ur installation so dat masters and gurus can attended to u quickly.

my regards
I wish I could draw the connection. An installer did the job for me.
Par the duration I assessed the Cc, I left it for a whole day. It did Max 22amps, same as my two PWMs.

Dreamflyin no dey hear.
SOme1 has asked him his cable size and distance..he simply said its god blah blah blah.
NOw he goes off to acquire an mppt cc without eliminating all likely causes.

Dont think we shud bother trying to help u till u start showing some seriousness.
1. how many strings of panels do u have.
2. are u using a combiner box.
3. what size of cable are u using in mm or awg.
4. Whats the distance from panels to cc
5.whats the distance btw cc and batt bank.and what is ur cable size.
6. what is the make of ur panels.specifications..are they all the same make..hope u didnt mix poly n mono. 80w. 150w. 250w on same string etc
I don't have a caliper yet, to check the cable size, but it should be 5-6mm. I tired uploading pic.
Combiner box? No.
Distance from PV to CC would be around 15 - 20feet.
CC to battery should be 3feet Max.
All pv are poly.
8 250w panels.

..but please, I thought MPPTs does a better job. If PWMs were giving 20a at peak, should MPPTs also give same?

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dreamflyin(m): 8:44pm On Oct 29, 2016
Please house, I need help. I'm now as confused as hell.
Since my two 40/40amps PWMs were harvesting 22amps at peak from the 2kw PC array, I thought that installing a Mppt will help issues.
So off to the electrical mart I went for one.
I got offered a Xantrex (Schneider), a ETracer and Itracer (both EP solar).

On installing the ETracer there was no improvement in harvest, rather a decline in harvest. It did 20amps peak.
So back I took it to the dealer and got a refund.
The Xantrex, based on the poor performance of the EP, I insisted in having it test runned on the 2kw panel setup there. Man! it did 18amps while the PWM that was there harvested 32amps off that same PC array.

Now am confused.
I thought Mppt is far better than a PWM?
What's wrong?
It's a 24v system.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dreamflyin(m): 7:26am On Oct 28, 2016
Please gurus, between EP and Schneider xantrex, which mppt is better quality in charge controller?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dreamflyin(m): 6:14pm On Oct 27, 2016
Please how good is Schneider electric xantrex 60amp Mppt?
Someone is offering me one at N130k and an EP 60amp at N150k.
I'm surprised EP is more expensive.

Obimind1:
Something must certainly be wrong with ur set up. In as much as pwm is not effective as mppt, its still not doing bad on a small set up. Using my self as an example, 4 of my 150watts panel(600watts) are connected to my 30amp charge controller, and the minimum I get on a rainy or cloudy day is 35amps. This days that we no more experience rain in the middle belt area of nigeria, I harvest up to 60 amps. I formally had the same complaints u're giving currently but luckily I ran into a well experienced installer who discovered that my wires were seriously undersized. After installing the right wires I recorded a great improvement in my harvest. Contact an installer to have a critical look at ur set up and I believe u will be fine.
At 12.00 noon, both PWMs harvests around 24amps(12amps individually).
Explain what you mean by undersized wires, please.

Reprobate:
@dreamflyin , also what size of cable did you ue to connect the panels to the CC/...Also whats the distance
Distance is not much. The floor under the roof.
Cable are good quality PV cables.
