Good morning house, any dollar fund by Stanbic or First Bank, and what are the rates? With the way inflation and volatile exchange rates affects our naira, is it not a safer bet on retaining value on a dormant fund for over a decade period? |

ozymes: Those days will soonest, be here again.......................................The present oil price and production level cannot be sustainable for a long time. When inflows from crude sales dovetail, the spiral effect will be massive borrowing to fund subsequent budgets. The General election is next year, dollars will be very scarce as a result of massive mop up by politicians to do the "needful". When oil revenue dovetail, our foreign debt repayments become an issue. So, that will impact negatively on our credit rating and our ability to continue to borrow in foreign currencies. The quickest way then to fund the system will be to look inward....borrow locally(TB) or quantitative easy. Just my humble thought Correction please. Dollar drops during election cos the market is flooded with election/campaign cash. Naira gains pre-election campaigns and spending. |

Good evening house. Please am confused at how much stockbroking houses charge for transferring shares of a late parent to an estate account? Fidelity Securities charges is 4% which is a lot considering we already paid 10% of the value to the state Probate.
It's quite unlike the banks, where they don't charge any percentage per say to convert a deceased account to estate.
Please, is that how it's done in shares? |

edupedia: We have helped a family trace shares which are millions in value...before we did this many of the shares and dividends had been stolen or converted by fellow family members. Through SEC we have a list of shares and family members name who prbably converted the shares through some dubious stockbrokers. This must have taken place between 2007 when the original owner died and 2017 when we put a stop to all transanctions on the shares of the estate.
But there are two issues:
1.The family wants to sell all the shares and distribute among beneficiaries(children)
2. The family wants to know if the suspicious list contain shares acquired by the persons on the list after 2007 in order to arrive at an equitable distribution of proceeds among the beneficiaries. The registrars may be unwilling to release information on shares no longer in the name of the deceased
Is there a reputable stockbroking firm knowlegdeable enough to manage the 2 issues on behalf of the family?
If so can u please give us your contact number on this thread so we can contact u? Please note we have a court judgement in our hands authorising us to do the job.Thank u. Get a probate letter of administration before doing anything. |
