TravelRe: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Dremzz: 12:30pm On May 11, 2021
Hi all! I am about to submit my application for first extension and we have just two documents in joint names. How many documents do we have to give in single names to make up the required documents?

Also do I have to scan all the pages of mine and my partners passport?
Thank you!

Hi everyone!

Has anyone here travelled to Mexico before from the UK with their spouse visa? Or did you have to apply for a Mexican visa? Any information will be much appreciated.

So sorry for the late response.
Yes we did the court wedding in Nigeria in ikoyi registry Lagos.
They made a little issue about him coming from ‘the abroad’ and having to pay more money for the court wedding, but they didnt care about his status in the Uk or if he was british( we used his Nigerian passport though).
You inform them about the wedding with ur intended date, and they post it on their notice board for 3 weeks or so before the wedding. During this time u fill out some forms and u do an affidavit that u and hubby are single. They will need passport photgraphs of you and hubby.
Don’t know if I have missed anything, but it was pretty straight forward.

Veacon:
Please Dear, from your testimony, I presume your husband has Nigerian citizenship and your court marriage was done here in Nigeria.
Can you please fill me in on the requirements you fulfilled for the court marriage and where?
Thanks

I am yet to receive any notification as well. But they have received my documents. Don’t worry we would be fine.

I have started counting backwards as u have suggested cheesy. Thank you
Lexusgs430:
You would receive a notification, if not for receipt of documentation. You would receive when a decision is made.....

Stop working yourself up, start counting your calendar days backwards..... 35,34,33,32,31,30....................

Hi Everyone, Good morning.
I am yet to receive an email that my documents have been received or my application is being considered by an Eco. I tracked my documents so i know they received it since last week Wednesday.
Is it possible to stay throughout the application process and not receive an emai from ukvi until decision has been made? I paid for priority too.

You did the elctronjc signing with Adobe Acrobat and got the Visa?
I have it on my system and can do that as well instead of scanning.
oxygyne:
Not giving any guarantees, but here are the alternatives that might work:
1. I filled out my form on my computer (using Adobe Acrobat Pro) and inserted my signature electronically and sent same to UK for printing.
2. I also have a high-resolution scanner that makes it almost impossible to detect the difference between the original and the scanned copy.

I think any of these two options should work but hopefully, someone who submitted a scanned copy will respond soon.

For the supporting letter, you can scan that no issues I believe but make sure for the application form you get a clean and clear scan.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz: 5:27pm On Jun 29, 2018
Hi oxygyne.

Thank you for your reply and the checklist, very helpful.
He has ALL the supporting documents including TB and english language cert. Its just the supporting letter and application form(thought it will be taken from me in VFS center) he doesn't have. Was just wondering if someone on here has scanned before and it was fine. As its weekend the courier companies wont deliver till Tuesday.
oxygyne:
Yes, you should DHL every single supporting document including the signed application form and applicant's introduction letter to the Sponsor for onward transmittal to Home Office. (Scanning might work but since you are sending other documents such as TB and Test certificates to her, why not send the original copies to prevent unnecessary hiccup)

Remember to use a checklist to confirm all your submissions, see sample below. All the best.

Good day everyone.
I just did my biometrics, but they didnt take the full application form, just the first 2 pages of it and my passport.
Do I have to DHL the signed application to hubby? Or I can just scan it?
Also for my cover letter is it okay to type it out and sign and just scan it to him as well?
Thank you.

Doing mine tomorrow in abuja. Thank you so much. It will go well.
Launna29:
No. You or your sponsor have to send it to their office in the Uk with your supporting documents. You are just going to do your biometrics and they collect your passports. I just did mine on Tuesday. Praying for good news.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz: 11:39am On Jun 28, 2018

Thank you.

Also how much is the IHS fee for just me no children.

Many thanks.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz: 12:15pm On Jun 17, 2018
Hi Lexusgs,

So the applicant doesn't have to write a cover letter as well? And please where do we write details of how we met and all of that, is it on the online application form or the apppendix 2 form?
Also any help on how to summarise our whatsapp chat? I was just about to print out and its almost 800 pages. Thank you smiley
Lexusgs430:
Keep reading and understanding and take notes if possible.

Also tell your sponsor to read..... If you follow this handout 100%, you are 100% guaranteed a successful outcome.....

NB : When you are successful, we benefit from tithe payments......

Hi Everyone. I have downloaded and printed this form (APPENDIX 2 (VAF 4A DECEMBER 2013) and was just about to fill it when on the form I noticed that the wrote this:

You MUST also complete and submit the main Personal Details Form (VAF4A). Failure to do so will delay your
application.

Please where can I find this form? I thought I just needed to fill out the VAF 4a form and also the sponsorship undertaking form.
Confused. Any Info will help.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz: 10:23pm On Jun 15, 2018
Thank you so much.
Aphrodite007:
Absolutely not a problem at all. However you should swear an affidavit with your husband’s name just for keeps. Bring it out when you get to the UK and decide to change your name. Take it to the bank with you and open your account, then send it with your brp to the DVLA for your drivers license. When you have your statement and drivers licence in ogas name You can’t bury the affidavit deep down in your box and just bear his name. (If you want). Only my bank and DL are in his name. I even still work with my maiden name. I no too send!
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz:
Hi everyone,

I recently got married , and I am yet to change my name to my hubbys and would be applying for the spouse visa with my maiden name. Will this be an issue and will I be able to change it after getting the visa.
Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you very much. Do I need to submit the sponsorship undertaking form with my application?
The documents that should not be older than 28 days, is it 28 days from submission of online application or from when I do my biometrics?
Osinachi1290:
No, they will not accept that for a spouse visa. It has to be IELTS life skills A1 (Speaking and listening) UKVI. They won't accept any other IELTS test apart from this. I took mine in Lagos
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz: 7:24pm On Jun 01, 2018
Osinachi1290:
No, you do not need to attach a court marriage certificate. We wedded only in church and had trad too. No need for him to come back for a court marriage. Leave all documents with him, he will be posting them to Sheffield. It's always easier and safer to post from within the UK. I don't know about a TB test done in the UK. Maybe others can help you on that. All I know is that there are approved TB centres for every country you are applying from. I did mine at Abuja.

Good luck
Thank you so much for you reply. Also do you know if they will accept IELTS certificate academic? Its not UKVI but the regular one you can you use for other countries as well.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dremzz:
Hi all!
Is it compulsory to attach a court marriage certificate to spouse visa application? Also how long after a court marriage can one submit their application?
I and my husband just got married a month ago(church and trad) and we were unable to do court marriage before he went back to UK for work. Now he wants to come in just so we can do the court marriage and then I can apply for the visa immediately after.
Also, I am presently in the UK and would be applying for my visa from abuja. Should I just leave all my documents with my husband instead of taking them back? And will they accept a TB certificate done here in UK?
Sorry for all the questions
Please any info will help. Many thanks.
