In October 2013, the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, appointed Nollywood actress, Shirley Igwe, as his principal protocol officer, a post she held for about two years before quitting to face her acting career.

During her time as the governor’s aide, tongues went wagging that there was an amorous affair between the duo. In a recent interview the former Delta soap model said she was not aware of the rumours about her.

However, she was quick to clear the air and talk about her relationship with her former boss.

She said it was only normal for people to have such an opinion. The actress said, “I am not aware that people said I had an amorous relationship with the governor. That is not true. I worked as his protocol officer and that made us quite close.

Apart from handling his guests, I handled every other aspect of his itinerary. I was at every meeting and convention with him, so it is very common and I would not be surprised if they linked us together. If they see a pretty lady everywhere with someone, people would easily jump into conclusion that they are dating.”

The pretty damsel further opened up on her love life as she disclosed that she is not in a relationship at the moment. While hinting on the kind of man she would love to walk down the aisle with, the actress who recently turned 30, added that she was not in a hurry to settle down.

Igwe said, “I don’t feel any pressure to get married at 30. If my mother was around, she could have been pressuring me but I don’t feel any pressure. I am from a family that believe in doing things at the right time and do not rush into it quickly only to rush out. Take your time to choose your man and make sure that you are doing great for yourself.

“When it comes to my ideal man, I want a God-fearing man who is financially stable. I also want a loving man. I only dated once in the university and when I graduated, I was busy with work. Then when I had the time, I dated again but it did not work out. The truth is that it is not easy for beautiful people to be in stable relationships. I think it has to do with the mind and jealousy.”

A condemned prisoner, Rabi Ismail, who escaped from lawful custody in Hadejia Prison on December 16, 2011, has been recaptured by the Intelligence Unit of the Nigerian Prisons Service with the support of men of the State Security Service, SSS.

The prisoner bearing number k/22c Rabi Ismail was sentenced to death by hanging for culpable homicide by a High Court in Kano on the 5th of January, 2005.

A Hausa film actress, Ms Ismail was subsequently held in Kaduna Central prison from where she was transferred to Hadejia prison before she escaped about 6 years ago.

In July 2011, the Supreme Court upheld the sentence of the lower courts that sentenced her to death by hanging for killing a male friend, Auwalu Ibrahim, to acquire his property.

The court found her guilty for drugging and drowning Mr Ibrahim in 2002 in Kano.

The Controller General of Prisons expressed appreciation to the assistance rendered by security agencies particularly the SSS and the police in arresting the fugitive.

He appealed to members of the public to continue to provide useful information on escapees and indeed any criminal element in their midst to security agents, noting that such outlaws pose security threats to the society.

He assures that security measures have been strengthened to prevent persons in prison custody from escaping.

The prison boss said escapees still at large would be fished out of their hiding no matter how long it takes to do so.

Difficult economic times call for extreme measures. A motherly, average-sized woman lovingly cuddling her nine-year old child in her semi-rural compound does not raise anybody’s eyebrows.

Except when the 'child' is a 30-foot python coiling around her, feeling her all over to get the motherly warmth that it has apparently been used to for all of its life.

Her name is Nalongo, which is a title given to a mother of twins in her culture. The brown skinned Nalongo says her husband died when she was heavily pregnant in December 2007 and soon after she delivered twins, the first was a girl who is now in boarding school, but the second one could not be sent to the same school or any school for that matter, having been born in a snake’s body.

And now at nine years, the 'child' is a full grown python, still staying at home with mom.

Nalongo told the government-owned Bukedde TV that she has been getting along relatively well with neighbours at Nakawuka village located somewhere off the Entebbe Kampala road, are supportive and understand her situation, unlike her family who have shunned her.

But as her story became public recently, she lamented her new predicament as she cuddled her python child. Some unsympathetic people had drawn the attention of the wildlife authorities to her baby and they had come to try and take him away.

She got some temporary reprieve when she explained to the zoologists that she is the only one who knows how to feed and care for her 'child'. They saw sense in her argument and also said on camera that they cannot take her 'child' to live with animals and snakes, yet it does not know how to defend and fend for itself out there.

Of course, the issue of taking the human mother with it to the zoo or the national parks to look after it from there is out of the question. So the status quo still has to be maintained as they figure out what to do with the thirty-foot reptilian child.

Of course nobody believes that a human being can give birth to a snake. But sympathizing with the length to which she went to get public attention, neighbours talk strongly in her support.

One lady asked interviewers to imagine how they would feel if their child went missing for even just one hour, so as to understand how Nalongo feels when people want to take away her 'child' to make it live among snakes.

Nalongo also shares another acute problem she is facing. Apparently, no guy wants to remain her lover for long. She has started some affairs, but once the men realise she gives birth to snakes, they abandon her and leave her feeling jilted.

How is the exposure supposed to help Nalongo? Apparently, her 'baby' eats 40 eggs a day and since she has no steady income, well-wishers should come to her aid...

Reality show first runner-up, Bisola Aiyeola, has made her first big move into the music industry by signing a deal with creative agency powerhouse, Temple Management Company (TMC).

The multi-talented artiste, who emerged as fans favourite at the just concluded reality TV show, now aligns herself with ace Nigerian singer Iyanya and others at the TMC.

Iyanya, the ‘Kukere’ crooner, who joined TMC in 2016, took to his Twitter handle @Iyanya to welcome Bisola.

Adunoluwa, the 20-year-old daughter of late Nollywood actress, Moji Oaliya has described her mother’s death as the worst news in her life.

Speaking with newsmen on Saturday at her family house in Lagos, the bereaved young lady said on the fateful day that her mum passed on, she spoke with her over the phone and both of them had a good time.

She recalled with nostalgia, “This is the worst kind of news anyone can hear. I spoke with her on the day she died and nothing prepared me for this bad news. We had a good time over the phone and she told me how my sister was doing and all. I will miss her love and care, because she always provided anything I wanted.”

On how the funeral rites would be handled, Adun simply said, “I don’t know at this point. It is the family that will take care of that.”

TONTO DIKEH has now come out to say that she never abandoned her son’s nanny – she has now revealed that she discharged the lady from her duties two months ago, after she realized she was no more fit for the job.

She was sadly discharged from her duties 2months ago, after the realization that she wasn't fit enough for the job as she was always suffering from one illness or another which I. Have spent Thousands treating.

So I paid her off and she went back to her base, I suddenly saw her about a week ago believing she came to say hello and leave, but begged to be taken back instead. It was obvious that my son missed her, which led me to permit her to stay for a few days.
To my suprise, she took ill again and I asked that she should be taken to the hospital, which I normally do whenever she fall sick and her on-Call Personal doctor provided By Me Isnt around.

She was rushed to the hospital on Thursday 11th may 2017, and discharged on Friday 12th may 2017, telling me that she is better now. To my greatest surprise, I got a call from one of my domestic staff that she has gone to the hospital again.

Waking up today Saturday 13th may 2017, to see a video posted without due consultations by 'some' foundation
I wondered why people love cheap publicity. How can someone who left the hospital on Friday and return to the hospital be abandoned as she FALSELY claimed.

Nevertheless, I have consulted and instructed my lawyer to serve them with immediate effect for defamation of character and other of charges associated to this act(etc. Using the name of a child for soliciting for money illegally)

I am appealiing to the public and especially my fans to disregard the request of paying into the account published on the blog. It's a scam and a malicious act that should never be allowed or encouraged.

The nanny is an ingrate for allowing her self to be used against me and my son.This is a woman who has visas to 15 different countries courtesy.
