As much as she has been rumoured to have had one or two things with singers, Adekunle Gold and Falz at some point, popular singer, Simi, has said Nigerian men “are not romantic.”

Speaking in a recent interview

“I don’t believe Nigerian men are romantic. I think Nigerian men do not think they have to be romantic. I am not saying this to bash men but I think no one pushes Nigerian men to fight for anything so they have this sense of entitlement.

I was watching a Nigerian movie one day and there was this unfaithful Nigerian man who left his wife for another woman. At the end of the day, the other woman left him and he retraced his steps to his initial wife. The lady’s mother actually told her to kneel in front of the man and that bothered me a lot even though I knew it was a movie. That is the way things are.

“A lot of men grow up in this country feeling entitled to certain things and they believe that they don’t have to work for anything. This has been the case for generations and a lot of our mothers were unhappy because the society expected them to stay in the relationship.

I am not saying it is the right thing for people to leave their relationships but a man needs to fight for what he wants so he can value it. I think the problem is because a lot of Nigerian men feel self-entitled and I blame our culture and our mothers. Most mothers are the problem because when something happens, they are quick to advise the daughter and wives, they don’t tell the men that their actions are wrong. So if a man feels that he does not have to fight to keep the relationship, he would not.”

The singer who hinted that she is currently in a relationship described the kind of lover she is.

“To describe myself as a lover, I would say that I am a loyal lover. When I am in a relationship, I am all in and I put everything into it. I can only quit a relationship if the person betrays my trust because, to me, trust is everything. Trust is a big foundation for love. If I don’t trust a person, it would be hard to be with the person.

If I date someone, I expect that you know what you have to offer. I believe that whatever I do for the person, I should get the same in return. I don’t like people lying to me,” the singer said.

After we were done and coming back, we got to enyimba Junction/bakassi,coman see ipob boys terrorizing people, everyone running for their lives. We kept on moving but slowly and noticed that the road was kinda dry. Before we knew it ipob boys rushed out from nowhere and attacked our hilux, they where more than 15, carrying different weapons, one of them used shovel and hit the hilux hard, before I could blink my eyes they opened the door and started dragging us out, I heard my oga chorused , NO please, we are BIAFRANS

This boys weren’t even listening, one used a heavy big stone and was hitting my oga,others were removing the car Cover seat that’s made of Nigeria color /coat of arm. That we are not biafra, that’s why we had that on, that were is our flag or means of identification…. I didn’t know what to do, they dragged me outta the car, I came down didn’t know what to do, I thought of hiding under the hilux but no way because they were just everywhere. I was just praying my last prayer just incase they decide to kill us. Ever seen or witnessed any case of jungle justice? Now, that’s exactly the scene today.

The other part of the road was another set of ipob boys damaging a truck full of goods, and another dangote truck full of cement on fire already.
All this I witnessed/saw within 20mins…
Finally I heard oya enter your motor and run for your life.
We sped off.
It was just I, the coordinator, and the driver. I started asking the driver why they allowed us go, our driver said he gave them 500naira that’s why they said we should go.

On our way still driving carefully, because they are everywhere, we saw soldiers in their convoy coming down to calm the situation.
On entering umuahia, the check points are tight, every living thing except the driver inside a bus, car, keke must come down and raise his/her two hands up to be sure the person isn’t with any weapon.

Cervical cancer is an infection caused by the human papillomavirus, which comes in many types and few of which cause cancer. The symptoms of this disease are a lot more subtle than some other cancers, but can be clearly spotted nonetheless to save lives. Here are 8 signs of cervical cancer that women need to observe and watch out for.

1. Unusual Bleeding

The most common of all early onset symptoms, unusual bleeding between menstrual cycles or following sexual intercourse can signal trouble. This symptom becomes even more important in post-menopausal women.

2. Unusual Discharge

It is normal for women to have a nominal amount of clear and odorless discharge. But watch out for foul smelling and irregular looking discharge, particularly if it is increased in output as this could be an early sign of cervical cancer.

3. Pain in the Legs and Lower Back

With swelling up of the cervix, blood flow to the legs and lower back can get obstructed. Tis often results in pain and swelling in the legs and lower back with a sore, painful sensation. Swollen ankles and pain in the hips too can be attributed to this factor and must not be ignored.

4. Pelvic Pain

Cramps and pain in the pelvis is not unusual for women, especially at certain points of their menstrual cycle. But if this pain is more acute or frequent, lasts longer than usual, or comes at a strange point in your cycle, then you are better off booking a checkup with your doctor.

5. Uncomfortable Sex

Painful sex, referred to as dyspareunia, is a common side effect of cervical cancer and can be attributed to the swelling and discomfort caused by the infection, as well as other medical conditions associated with it. If you are experiencing uncomfortable or painful sex, waste no time in getting a thorough check up.

6. Discomfort in Urination

Urinary symptoms indicate that the cancer has spread to a nearby tissue and must not be ignored. Stinging sensations or other discomfort when passing urine is a clear sign or trouble, as is irregular urinary habits such as incontinence, change of frequency and discoloration (especially with blood).

7. Irregular Menstrual Cycle

Your menstrual cycle can directly reflect the rhythms and state of your body, and as such cervical cancer can cause fluctuations and disruptions in it. Any marked inconsistencies can be a sign of cervical cancer and are best not ignored.

8. Undue Loss of Weight and Fatigue

Coupled with the other signs listed above, drastic and unexplained weight loss and fatigue can signal cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can cause a rise in white blood cell count to fight the infection; this can be accompanied by a drop in the red blood cell count in the blood, leading to anemia and resulting in a lack of energy or appetite, weight loss and fatigue.

The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, has denied ordering the humiliation and banishing of one of his chiefs from the kingdom.

A video emerged online during the week showing some chiefs forcing a half naked man identified as one of the chiefs out of the palace for allegedly disrespecting the Oba.

The Oba has ordered an investigation into the alleged manhandling of the elderly man.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Desmond Agbama, the Oba dismissed the claim that the man was a Benin chief.

He also said that though the elderly man was found with “abominable objects,” he (Oba) never ordered him to be manhandled.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the man in question is not a chief in Benin Kingdom as has been ascribed to him.
“The man came to the palace in the company of those who had issues to resolve at the palace but he violated the norms of the Benin custom and tradition and was found carrying on his person abominable objects forbidden by Benin custom and tradition,” the statement read in part.
“At no time did the Oba order the man to be manhandled.

“The persons who escorted the man out of the palace may have over-reached themselves in their efforts to protect the tradition and culture of the Benin people and the sanctity of the palace. However, the Oba of Benin has ordered a full investigation into the incident,”‎ it added.

A TEENAGER was rejected for a job because her potential employer realised she was engaged to a black man after looking on her Facebook page.

Chiara Del Gaudio, 18, from Turin, had been looking for a job and was shocked when a shopkeeper contacted her on social media to comment on her fiance, who comes from Nigeria.

The teenager posted a series of screenshots of their conversation, where he said the serial killer the Monster of Florence would be a more suitable boyfriend.

The man wrote: “As far as I’m concerned, you can go out with the Monster of Florence, but allow me to not entrust the safety of my store to those who share their life with an African.”

The young woman rebuffed the shop owner, who she claims later had to delete his Facebook profile because he was being threatened.

Chiara told Corriere Della Sera: “He contacted me by saying that he was interested in my resume, but after seeing my Facebook profile he told me that he did not like me and even advised me to remove photos with my boyfriend.

“Don’t worry, if by just looking at my profile you think I’m not the right person for the job, I can understand that you are a very superficial person so I would not accept it.

“He could tell me that my curriculum was not good, I would have accepted it, but I did not think I could be a victim of racism because I was engaged to a boy of colour.”

Locals reacted to Chiara’s claims with horror and the president of the Torino Union of Traders, Maria Luisa Coppa, condemned the actions of the shopkeeper.

She told La Repubblica: “Respect and integration are values that animate our activities. Episodes such as the one reported do not belong to our culture.”

Singer, Kenny Saint Best, doesn’t seem to joke with her two teenage kids, even as a single mother, she has so far, made sure she took good care of them.

Her daughter is gradually growing to become a beautiful damsel and when asked what age she would allow her teenage daughter to have a boyfriend, the singer hinted that it would be when she attains the “penis envy” stage.

According to Wikipedia, ‘Penis Envy’ is a stage theorised by Sigmund Freud regarding female psychosexual development, in which young girls experience anxiety upon realisation that they do not have a penis. However, the singer said that her Philosophy lecturer in school defined it as a stage in a young girl’s life when she realises that she attracts the member of the opposite sex.

In a new interview KSB noted that she started dating when she was 15 years old so she would be a wicked mother to deny her child from dating a man at that age.

“When I was in the university, I took a course in Philosophy and they taught us that there is a particular age that girls start dating and they call it the age of ‘Penis Envy’.

It is not that the girls are necessarily looking for sex, it is just a stage in their life whereby they realise that they are pretty and they can be attractive to a guy.
For me, once my daughter is 15 years old then it is okay for her to date. It is not that they would be walking around holding hands but it has to be a civil and responsible relationship.

I am not a regular parent, I feel it is okay for a female child to be aware that she is attractive to guys and she should also know that the guy would woo her. That was the age it happened to me and I would be a wicked mother to expect that at the age of 15, my daughter would not have someone wooing her or telling her the usual lies guys tell ladies.

“So for my boy, if he is 17 and I notice that he is always talking to someone on the phone and always smiling, it is okay. It does not mean that they are going to be practising sex; it just means that they are understanding matters of the heart and love apart from the love they get from their parents,” she said.

Bianca Ojukwu’s sister, Ambassador Lilian Onoh, was today, 10th August 2017, received by the President of Namibia, as Nigeria’s ambassador and High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia.

The ceremony took place at the State House at the Nations Capital,Windhoek. Prior to this engagement, She had been Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner to Jamaica.

Ambassador Lilian Onoh is the sister of Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s former ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

Jonathan Goodluck Oberia defied all odds and risks to stage a one man protest at the Abuja house in London to ask the presidency to disclose the health status of President Buhari who has been out of Nigeria for 92 days now.

It was really double tragedy for a housewife who cohabited with a lover as husband and had five children without knowing the man’s place of origin.

Her husband died last week, the woman was unable to take him home for burial and she consequently dumped his corpse at an undisclosed mortuary in Lagos. She then asked his family members to go there and carry him for burial.

She now has to face the pain of losing her husband and at the same time being accused of causing his death. The man’s family claimed that her refusal to bring down the corpse to his village for burial was because she caused his untimely death.

The late Boye who hailed from Delta State met her lover and wife, Joyce in Lagos and they lived together as husband and wife and had children.

The couple lived at Fashola Street in Ejigbo for 12 years before the late Boye passed on after a brief illness.

It was learnt that all through the years they lived together, Joyce did not know his family members except the ones she saw in Lagos and had never visited Boye’s village to know his parents.

P.m Express learnt that Boye did not also travel to the village to see his parents neither did he take Joyce to them before he died.

It was learnt that the family wanted Joyce to bring the corpse home and explain to the family why she seized him for those years and eventually killed him. But Joyce got wind of the possible attack and arrest, and decided to dump the corpse at the mortuary.

When our correspondent visited the bereaved woman, she confirmed his death and said that Boye fell sick and died.

She narrated that when her husband was alive, she tried severally to get Boye to take her to his village to see his parents but he refused.

She maintained that she cannot be blamed for what happened, that even her late husband did not visit her own family in Anambra State before his demise.

It was not certain whether the family will go to the morgue to carry Boye’s corpse and take custody of his children, as their late brother did not properly marry Joyce by paying her bride price.

According to their tradition, since the late Boye did not pay her dowry, the five children belongs to the woman’s family which was seen as additional gain to the family.
