Now, this is one of the advantages of a modular system. I doubt you would have made this progress in diagnosing the issue if you used a hybrid inverter with inbuilt CC. I hope you get the issue resolved soon

the must inverter is an hybrid inverter with in-built cc

I jst opted to get a separate CC to it so can par with the felicity battery..that's just the difference .

At this point I might as well get a felicity inverter so It can all be same..

Thing is. It has to spoil just at a period where funds are so low .

I've opted to manage gen for now till I'm able to sort it out or prolly get a small one to manage...

Must inverter has humbled me..

You should totally isolate the battery (disconnect the inverter from battery) and see if the battery can come on by itself - check the battery voltage with a multimeter at the battery terminals to see what reading you have.

Do you have solar via a separate CC? See if the CC can charge the battery - you are trying to find where or which component of your system has issues.

If battery reads fine as per voltage and the external CC can charge it with no issues then you can narrow down on your inverter as the likely device with issues.

If you do not have the required skills and tools, let your trusted installer have a go at it.

so you are saying I should check if the CC if it's charging now? Well it's not since the back[battery]isn't on.. it's showing red also

the battery does have a light that comes on when a button is pressed then the surge at the back to basically turn it on

I did turn it on

It powered the inverter as it came on..

Bt it was still displaying a red(fault) from the inverter when I turn it on

Then I notice a smell of burn at the end of the battery..like a wire smell

Initially like I said it was coming from the inverter itself (ie the smell) now from d back of the battery.

This is jst where the issue is

My installer is quite far from me .and I wanted to know what was wrong that's why I come on nl b4 I make a move to call him to come immediately..

It may well be that Thor the god of thunder and lightning passed through your neighborhood and decided to check in.

You should start with trying to wake up the battery - was it drained too low and is there any burnt smell coming out of the battery pack? If the battery pack works or can be woken up with a charge then you can figure out what happened to the inverter - it seems something shorted out or you experienced a surge

You may need to call your installer for help. Once you have repaired all broken parts, please be sure to install suitable voltage and surge protection as well as making the required sacrifices to the gods (bury copper rods deep in the ground and bring the connection via cable into your power service).

Most electrical failures due to surge or internal component failure would be milder if the equipment had been properly earthed so that fault currents had a place to go.

this happened in the night by 3am,no rain been here for days..

So now I turned on the switch from the back(the battery)

Den I perceived a smell of wire burning from the connection at the back of the battery

Ealier on I said the smell came in from one of the fan inside the MUST inverter itself then the battery trip itself off from the back[felicity 15kw has some surge switch,that was what went off] ..
NB: it came when I was using my gen to charge it as we had very cloudy weather.had to use the gen to charge it..


Now the inverter came on but has error red light on

As soon as I got to switch the surge from the battery smell now came frm there.

The battery was showing 2 bar (ie 50%+)

So I got closer to d inverter it has a burning smell in fan vents side of my MUST inverter.

I was using my 6.5kva generator to charge it.

It's not turning on now...

I checked the back of my lipo battery it already switched itself off ..like a surge or something

Depends on the rated input. I use an axpert mks clone called ipowerplus to handle my second array made up of 4 x 540 JASolar panels configured in a 2S2P. The out put is quite decent even though the array faces West and by the time it is ready to really work, the east facing array has done most of the work.

One thing to note though, the axpert mks 5kw 48v and it's related clones are best used in a 2S configuration. Even though it can handle 3S technically, it is actually designed to optimally handle 115v. Go over that and you would experience losses. The source for this information is from people who actually decoded the axpert charge Algo. Same people wrote a custom firmware which fixes some serious charging bug with the inverter, a bug which as the potential to ruin a battery by leaving it under charged. Don't have the source ATM but when I do I will update this post.

there's a lot of technical terms reading used here I am jst an end user...this is what I meant..

1. I use a felicity 120A charge controller connecting 8 300watts to it..

2.now I want to get another separate panel and connect them like a different separate connection this time from the charge controller inside the hybrid inverter (MUST brand).

So my question is it possible to do this thereby linking them to a battery[15kw felicity lithium].
.My installer said it is very possible I jst need more experts analysis from yall b4 embarking on it.

I use same charge controller and get over 2kw with 8*340w panels

that looks like a felicity controller.

I do not think it gets accurate reading though .

I use a 8 x300watts panel and I get not up to 1.6

BTW guys I was thinking of doing a separate connection to my must 5kw hybrid inverter,this time I'm looking at getting original Canadian solar panel 600watts x2[when money comes]

I'd like to know guys if this hybrid can take another 2400watts

It's 2022 no one does this anymore,simply use what you are cool with and go with that .In my case I use both and I can say they all have thier perks, apple offer more streamline fluid experience with respect to its amazing ecosystem[ if you get a hold of its macbook,watch and others], it's way better in video too..on the other hand android are for the geeks cus it gives you access to a many gimmicks and mods that can help tweak your phone to what you want..

So I'll just simply say

So guys I’m torn between buying 15kw from felicity or for local coupling.

Do know felicity will offer at least 2-5yrs warranty on theirs and the coupled one well I’ll have to be forcing the person to help me should incase issues arises with the battery.

Someone posted here that felicity does not offer actual power of what Dey claim to be the power

But I asked a frnd and he told me yes it’s true for his 10kw bt his 15kw offers actual value for it.

Question now is . Is he right about that and those that claim to say felicity doesn’t offer it’s actual power have any tested the 15kw own.

Want to give a good advice to my uncle with respect to what will work for him best.

On must hybrid 5kv inverter(I don't know if you know it) it showed 52.8 for 4 220ah batteries it didn't go higher than that..I then added the water as I type its at 54.8
