Ironbull: 9 years is too long. 8 years should be maximum does he want to become Mugabe or what?
Abeg make we see road.
He was a prime minister. As a prime minister, you can remain in office for life as long as your party maintains its dominance and continues to nominate you as the PM.
Only two celebs would freak me in this world; Michael Jackson and Ronaldo. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see MJ before he died but I was honoured to see Ronaldo at a very close distance. Funny thing is that apart from the goosebumps, I didn’t even lose my steeze. I also saw Taylor Swift last year. Instead of being star-struck, it was her performance rather than appearance that gave me chills. Once we start treating those celebs like humans they will start behaving like humans.
In the UK, football fanatics are obsessed with anything football. They go to the stadium every matchday and even canonize the football club they support, yet people don't blame them. It is wrong to chastise people for what they believe in.
TempleHouse: Africans are stupid to talk about errors in foreign language.!
Yet, they're happy to clap for Oyinbo people muttering their language in a ridiculous manner.
Imagine if an Oyinbo man was taught your indigenous language for at least 15 years. I am sure that he is going to own it and even reinvent it. That English is not an indigenous language is not an excuse for making avoidable gaffes.
For many Nigerians, it was a pick between two bad choices. and they picked what THEY FELT was the less bad choice
Living under bulaba to them is much worse
You need to come to the UK to see for yourself. The truth is that the west is quite receptive to immigrants, but they only want talented immigrants and that is why the UK is doling out global talent visa for talented individuals. I don't have issues with people emigrating, in fact migration is part of human history. However, I would hate to support migration that is similar to slavery. I have seen Nigerians in the UK downplay racial slurs, accept disrespect and other derogatory nuances all in the name of japa.
APOPTOSIS: Don't mind Nigerians always ready to insult people. People made their choices to relocate. Please leave them to their fate. What's wrong with doing that job? People pump tyres in Nigeria.. People do security in Nigeria People drive sewage vehicles in Nigeria Why should I insult them. You may need them one day.
Even when I was working in Nigeria, I wiped humans despite occupying the highest stratum in the medical profession. It didn't reduce me in anyway. Medical Doctors in Nigeria manually evacuate impacted faeces from patients. Has it reduced them? The insults from us are just too much. Too many proud folks these days. Lazy youths that wouldn't want to do anything besides disturbing the peace of others.
It is quite illogical to drop your academic qualifications and professional experience just to pick up a blue collar job. Most people in the UK that are into care and security didn't even make it to the university. It saddens me when I see former bankers, lawyers, risk managers in UK doing menial jobs. How do we plan to transform our own country when the professionals are constantly going on exodus to the UK just to wipe ass. The painful thing is that these folks were comfortable in Nigeria
danvon: Imagine a man will spend millions, abandon his family, his country, his culture, his dignity just to go abroad and be wiping asses of old white racist men and women - they deserve to be insulted.
It hurts to know that Nigerians abroad, especially in the UK have accepted to become subservient and accept the most demeaning jobs. People proudly apply for care jobs and still get insulted. The annoying part is that people who were doing well for themselves in Nigeria left everything just to accept this denigrating lifestyle all in the name of seeking greener pasture.
The strategy is to heighten public sentiment and create distractions, which would reduce public scrutiny of the case. They are just acting according to the plot. The whole case would die naturally soon.
It bothers me that after significant investments on your education, struggle to get a job or even start a business, investment on your body (fitness aficionados) and years to acquire properties, a guy will still most likely end up with a girl with little or no substance. I am an advocate of a symbiotic relationship. It makes no sense for any guy to settle for less. The truth is that the difference between you as a guy and a girl is the reproductive system. We need to start deconstructing the societal gender narratives, it makes girls lazy and overly reliant.
Rebelutionary: And unfortunately Nigerians who should know better fall cheaply every time abi? We will trend it with memes and witty lines and at the end they just read our comments caustic or not and laugh at our gullibility!
There are just few of you with solid ratiocination. Unfortunately, democracy is a game of number.
tinubu and his folks are charlatans. It is hard to fathom that this same Shettima wore sneakers to a major conference before the election just to generate controversies. Tinubu was also speaking in tongues and suffered multiple gaffes before the election just to distract us. Shettima miraculously transformed to "best dressed" and Tinubu regained his demeanor after they both won the election. They know that politics in Nigeria has nothing to do with substance. It has always been attack on your personality to gain cheap popularity.
Dynamicboss: Doha Hammad matched the hype. I was there last year and the magnificence of the airport is breathtaking and exciting. I arrived Lagos airport and realized that our airport is no different from pig farm.
The Doha airport is a sight to behold. International travelers wouldn't appreciate the beauty if they only transit through the airport.
This is why Oyibo are better , they try to study something that can help them provide a solution for the problems bedeviling them, not just getting PH, D in the name of certificate.
How will his Islamic laws help Nigeria or the north ?
my dissertation was on religion and community development. You wouldn't know that religion and development are inextricable until you delve into it.
question is how much should be expected and how often?
USA has both talented blacks and whites so they are meant 2 be the greatest at the olympics
and they are
There is a place for personal development too and the need for us to focus on events where we have comparative advantage. It is not compulsory for us to send a large number of contingents to the Olympics. In terms of personal development, the likes of Usain bolt expended time and resources for four years just to prepare for the Olympics. Some of our representatives are not even full time athletes. Despite winning over 20 grand slams, Djokovic rated his medal at the Olympics as his greatest achievement, which underscores that the Olympics means different things to different people.
It's clear our sports federations need correct reforms..seems many heading these Federations no really understand their job..they are just there to chop and believe insha'Allah in competitions to win...e no dey work that way..
Some will say Basketball tried because of D'Tigress outing...that will be terrible lie attributing the success of those ladies to the Federation, considering what we read about their planning and logistics..so, its more of the ladies determination to do their thing for themselves.
Going forward, we can pick positives from the way Minister of Sports responded to issues...he has been very active.
He will need to keep up this energy and touchlight all these Federations to ensure they do the right thing at the right time. For example, Athletes training allowances should be paid as at when due , so they can use it for Training..and not when they have reached competition
He has a lot to do...and the recent flashes shows the Minister can actually do it..if he wants to. He should give us good, efficient sports federations.
Apt. However, there is the place of personal development and talent too. Usain bolt, Biles, Michael Phelps were exceptional Olympic champions. Are you not surprised that with all the money invested on football in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, they are still far behind in terms of global achievement. It is time for Nigeria to resuscitate grassroot sport development, invest on national sports festival, University games and revamp the sports ministry. Talent acquisition is as important as having a strong sport ministry
Kukutente23: Of course they will. That's their stock in trade when not in power and the man there is not dancing to their tune like they want. The irony now is that Tinubu is the one giving them the ammunition against his govt. During OBJ, they used sharia During GEJ, they used boko haram Today, Tinubu's mishandling of the economy is giving them legitimacy for revolt
Kukutente23: You secured your region with nairaland likes and shares. You're such a clown. I have tears in my eyes reading your comedy.
If Tinubu was able to manage the economy, a popular protest such as this couldn't have happened. Stop diverting to one yeye region to hide your shame. You can't secure an ant not to talk of a region
the northerners would still have found another scheme to undermine Tinubu's government. It is funny how all the candidates promised to remove fuel subsidy, but the same northerners want Tinubu to reintroduce it.
and Shettima in or military takeover? I hope you and your family can afford to relocate abroad by the time any of this happens. What is oblivious to many of you folks is that some powerful individuals are itching for the situation to deteriorate. The plan is to hijack the protests, create chaos, and launch an insurrection. Have you asked yourself why the protests are so intense in the country's north? northern leaders who never wanted Tinubu to emerge as president are cooking something...the north is obsessed with power and would do anything whether democratic or unconventional to retrieve it. I hope that you folks won't throw caution to the winds. Political instability is further going to undermine the country's economic growth and development, potentially exacerbating the current socio-economic crises.
Felaincarnated: Ur mumu neva do? Is d economy of d country a joke to u?Wat oda objective u dey find?
I anticipated a preposterous response from you. If you struggled to decipher my initial message, isn't it obvious that you cannot organize a reasonable protest. When NLC threatened to strike, they highlighted their demands, which were the approval of a new national minimum wage and reintroduction of electricity subsidy. My point is, it makes sense to predicate any scheduled nationwide protests on a clear objective.
