Tsarbomba: The EAGLES have landed. No id!0t born of a woman can stop this protest, them no BORN you well. This will be the MOTHER of all protest, it will sweep like a hurricane accross african countries against bad/oppressive government. The youths have finally awaken from their slumber to TAKE BACK their country into their hands, and no amounts of paid zombies on nairaland can stop or quench the fire that is burning in them Unlike the Kenyan protest which was triggered by proposed taxation, what is the sole goal protesters aim to achieve with the scheduled nationwide protests. I am 100 percent in support of the protest only if there is a specific objective the protesters aim to achieve. It is obvious that these protests will likely be driven by diverse motives ranging from ethnopolitical to socio-economic issues. If this is about putting an end to governance, reducing oil pump price to NGN 100, restructure the country and all, it is definitely going to evolve in sustained violence, potentially disrupting the fragile economic landscape of the country. From my experience, most Nigerians are emotional rather than logical when it comes to issues like this. |

We don't care how many years the contract has been signed! It can be revoked for the interest of the nation and the people, to h*ll with ethics if it doesn't favour the country and it's populase! How do you advised the NNPC that is is currently owing international oil suppliers over USD 6 billion and Afreximbank over USD 500 million. The truth is that Nigeria is broke. We exaggerate our financial strength which is the underlying reason the country has failed to exploit its numerous resources creatively. |

strangest: Another rubbish talk... So it's now a Nigeria for other countries first.... Not a Nigeria for Nigerians... They are protecting their source of income My sincere apologies for engaging you in an intellectual discourse. To simplify this, let me come down to your level. If your mother took a loan and promised her debtors to pay them monthly with her firewood supplies, do you expect her to use the firewood to prepare dinner for your family first or pay the debt she owes? Your answer to this question will prove my doubts about your brilliance. |

strangest: Rubbish talk... You attend to your family first... Stop talking rubbish Let me school you. The author is 100 percent right. NNPC currently owes international oil suppliers over USD 6 billion. The corporation also owes Afreximbank at least USD 500 million. These loans are usually services by what is called crude oil swap, which is an exchange of crude oil for loans. The existing agreement indicates Nigeria is unlikely to make any substantial gain from future crude oil sales. When people argue about the country's current economic condition and conclude that violent protests or Tinubu are the cause of the persistent economic challenges, it only exposes the fragility of their ratiocination. |

Jman06: So, all your little brain could think of is that I support Boko Haram? Much as I don't support Boko Haram and their violent ways, I also understand that they are fighting to correct one of the negative sides of Western education and civilization,,,which is the destruction of the traditional family system.
Every right thinking individual understands that education, especially women's education, tends to destroy the traditional family system. Women who are empowered via education and employment would still want the men to be the traditional men who are seen as the sole providers yet these women would not stick to their own traditional roles of being submissive to their husbands and taking care of the children and the house generally. This is the reason why many men are not interested in marriage these days.
Or are you not seeing the alarming number of unmarried men and women in the society Don't you realize that such situation threatens human existence on earth
Western education and civilization are good but we have to work on maintaining the family unit. If women know that they're not ready to change their mindset from what they think a man's role is in the family to the mindset that aligns with the current reality of women empowerment, then it is better to stop all the hue and cry about gender equality, girl-child education and women empowerment. We must then withdraw our women from schools and work places so they can go back to their husbands' houses and become that submissive traditional wives for whom traditional men paid dowry and catered for. The Taliban did it in Afghanistan, so we can as well do it here. You don't expect to eat your cake and still have it. There is no moral justification for violent extremism. Extremism itself is a threat to human existence. The truth is in a liberal world, you have copious of choices to make. In this western world, there are submissive women who deliberately chose not to succumb to the societal norms. I will choose an evolving liberal world over your 'traditional' society. |

That's the new oil
Is petroleum engineering a viable course to study in big 2024? I don't think so.
But since time revealeth all things, we shall know 5 - 10 years from now. You are spot on. Shell's decision was influenced by the emerging global energy transition i.e. shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. It is projected that that low carbon emission will replace fossil fuel by 2040. Shell is famed for strategic foresight and scenario planning, the company understands that non-renewable energy will become less lucrative in the near term. In the western world, electric vehicles are literally replacing PMS-powered vehicles gradually. |

After that carryover grade in the course, I said to myself that I must have a perfect semester to atone the dent, that is, a semester with all As in my courses. To me, this will be the only way to makeup for that CO. I tried all I could from my 300 level, up till my 500l first semester, I couldn't achieve this, closest I was was 4.92. I lost the zeal to further pursue this.
Second semester 500l known for being highly eventful, excess thesis written and defenses left and write, I wouldn't bother on this promise I made to myself again, I would read normally becausethere was no stressing myself again. Wrote all my papers later that semester, they wouldn't let us see our final semester results normally, just a graduating list when it is ready to know our fate. I got my transcript after our convocation, I found out that I actually wrote 5.0 in that final semester, I got a sigh of relief and I could forget myself for that 200l carryover. yours was even. superCleanworks: so i am not the only one who noticed how the story SWITCHED from the unknown location of the aide to WE ARE NOW SAFE OUTSIDE NIGERIA The aide is still in DSS' custody, there is nothing elusive about it. The aide was simply arrested because of his affiliation with the pastor. My point is that the pastor is now in the UK while his aide is probably being tortured. You have no idea the kind of public outcry that accompanied his arrest. The moral lesson is that humans only care about survival. Sunday Igboho also escaped only for DSS to dehumanize his followers consequently. El Zazaky saw shege in the hands of DSS, that is the kind of leadership I would commend. |

TheNiceGuy: This is what we're saying about rumour mongers.
It has been on space in the last 20 hours that Binani as won while collation is ongoing.
Even US envoy share the rumours.
This was what transpired during Presidential Election when Obidence after rigging Alaigbo for Obi, they began to give over-bloated figures to Obi across States.
By the Time INEC concluded collation of Results and announced winner, Ashiwaju Ahmad Bola Tinubu, they began to cry on internet that they were shortchanged of their IMAGINARY mandate.
How? Which mandate?
You don't have 8% in northwest that has the highest numbers of voters. You don't have 30% in Southwest that has the second highest numbers of voters, North Central and North East.
You only performed well in South South and over had over 90% in South East that has least registered voters.
How was your mandate stolen? Can Alaigbo mandate make Obi President? Social media is likely to set this country on fire if countermeasures are not implemented in the short term. Funny how a particular political party has weaponized the creative use of social media to people rumors and propaganda. |
