AMINDA: Exactly. Tinubu won only 4 Southwestern states out of 17 Southern states. Elrufai and the North made him President. He is now desperate to consolidate his base come 2027 because he knows Northern votes are no longer guaranteed, having betrayed his helpers. Repeating the muslim-muslim ticket again will not amount to much. It has lost its potency. With Makinde withdrawing his support and Obi poised to sweep majority of the South, he may be constrained to only 3 Southwestern states. And consolidating his hegemony in Oyo State is worth pulling that stunt. The killing of two civilians and an unconfirmed number of security forces all in the name of staged kidnapping to sabotage Makinde's ambition. I concur. |
Politics › Re: Bayo Onanuga Slams Makinde Over Demand For UN Probe Of Oyo Kidnappings by drkrest(m): 3:35pm On Jul 14 |
AMINDA: The moves that Nigerians have seen from the incumbent does not support your assertion that they do not see Makinde as a threat. Someone is desperate to consolidate his home front and ultimately his region by becoming the only Southerner on the ballot. If Seyi Makinde was not a threat, a lot of resources would not have been expended in empowering Wike to destroy the PDP and prevent Makinde from clinching the ticket, even after Atiku Abubakar already left. Tinubu lost Osun and Lagos in 2023. The highest Makinde would have been able to achieve would be to win Oyo State, which is unlikely given ongoing permutations and current political landscape of the state. |

AMINDA: Only one person will eventually win the election. Are you insinuating that other candidates should be pressured to step down just because they cannot win? When Kwankwaso contested in 2023, his supporters didn't think he will win but 1.4m of them still exercised their franchise by voting for him. That's democracy. You clearly deciphered my message wrongly. Why would APC orchestrate the abduction of kids in Oyo State just to sabotage Seyi Makinde, a light weight politician. The stake is too high and the outcome isn't even worth it. In the scheme of things, APC at the national level does not consider Seyi Makinde as threat. It is illogical to assume that Tinubu and his cohorts planned the kidnapping just to frustrate Makinde. Insecurity was well documented in Kwara before the incident, what happened in Oyo State was a spill over of insecurity. |

Usmanovic95: 100% I support seyi makinde because how can someone declare intention to contest as president and the following day terrorists went to his state to kidnap children and teachers in droves and you expect him to shut up like an slowpoke. If he feels UN will probe it better, I don't think anyone should get triggered by his moves except a guilty character. It is visible to the blind that Seyi Makinde is not a threat; in the scheme of things, none of the major contenders will lose a strand of hair over Makinde's candidacy. Why should the presidency orchestrate a sham kidnapping to sabotage Seyi's presidential ambition? It is unarguable that Makinde won't even win the South West not to talk of Nigeria. How did we allow politics to trump humanity and our sense of ratiocination. The problem with some Nigerians is that they are not logical. Preponderance of you are so sentimental to the extent that reasoning becomes so difficult. Some groups of people believe that Jubril from Sudan was Buhari...how did we get to this egregious state of preposterousness. |

I can confidently conclude that it is over for Nigeria. To think that Peter Obi also fraternised with this man and would have remained in the same party with him if the permutations favoured him. The problem we have is not a leadership problem, it is citizenship problem. We are not ready for the change we desire and this is why these politicians keep taking us for fools. |

insidelife22: The whites will be laughing and rolling on the floor behind the scenes. She is always trying to play to the gallery Yoruba efulefu the compensation should be for colonisation not slave trade. To think that the West divided and shared Africa like a commodity then decided to exploit all our resources is shameful and unforgivable. That alone has left Africa with a gap that cannot be filled. Conversely, the West is now frowning at irregular migration. They have creatively put in strict immigration rules to deprive Africans. The question is; did they seek our consent before exploring and exploiting Africa? |

Femmymata2: The ruling was based on the constitution of Caf, Senegalese brought great shame on Africa by there walkout. We were all holding our breath while that show of debacle was going. This will discourage any team that thinks of doing such in the future I was one of the few persons that condemned Senegal despite the huge support they got from preponderance of football fans in West Africa, especially Nigeria. I have always said it that Nigerians are usually sentimental and less logical when it comes to assessing issues. Senegal denigrated the whole competition by discontinuing the game just to amplify their discontentment; a bad precedent just to say the least. To think that most Nigerians supported that act overtly reflects our sedentary thought process. I am an ardent football fan and that was the worse scene I have seen; I am glad that justice prevailed at last and common sense restored. It is illogical to fight injustice with injustice. Court! |

This is the simple maths; you are going to spend close to 40 million naira in total. You will only recoup the money and make more if you are only able to stay in the uk beyond your 18 month post study, which is not guaranteed. It depends on your risk appetite and desperation. If you were able to save 21 million naira in Nigeria, you are smart. Meanwhile, I reside in the uk and I can tell you confidently that it is not paradise. |

Next season when they play multiple matches it's then you can see your true Man United, for now enjoy the moment. Mancity won the treble a couple of years ago. Playing loads of matches helps you build and keep momentum and experiments. In case you don’t know, Arsenal is competing for four trophies this season and has been performing incredibly across those competitions. manutd is currently in form “new manager syndrome”. England football players get paid approximately £2,000 per match, though since 2007, they have donated this money to the England Football Foundation, which then gives it to charity. This means players do not receive the match fee directly. The amount is the same for both the men's and women's national team. The super eagles have the most important match of their careers and they decided to jeopardise this because of bonus. There is nothing like national pride. |

In the same vein installing a secret camera in a workplace without informing personnel who will be there is an invasion of privacy, this is why you will notice that in supermarkets and car parks where they have CCTV cameras they always put up signs informing people about the cameras. That is wrong. That is just for deterrence. CCTV is meant to act as a preventive measure. As such, they want you to be chary of your misdemeanour, hence the need to hint you about the surveillance |
