I got to the embassy some minutes before 6:30AM, I was surprised at the numbers of people I already met there, it was a bit crowdy. Someone told me last night about the hustlers around the embassy telling you print unnecessary documents from them so I was just walking with a straight face, I no even give anyone eyes

Me- I'm going to the US to study my undergraduate degree in Accounting at Southern Arkansas University which I'll study for the duration of 48 months
VO- How many schools did you applied to?
Me- 3 schools, Dixie state University, Southern Arkansas university and University of Indianapolis
VO- And you were admitted to all?
Me- No, I was to Southern Arkansas and Dixie state university, University of Indianapolis denied me
VO- Why SAU?
Me- I chosed this school because it has a corporative and experiental educational program which integrates classroom experience into real life world connecting me with the experts in my field of study and also it has a structured curriculum which aligns with my career aspiration with the aim of developing me with the technical, analytical and concepted skills to become a globally attuned leader in my profession ( the VO was just typing and not looking at me)
VO- Why Accounting( stopped typing and looking at me)

Akpos went to American embassy for a student visa, and the process of his interview with the white lady goes thus: VO: what is your reason for going to the USA? Akpos: I want to go and study there. VO : which city, school and course do you have in mind? Akpos: Chicago, economics and statistics maths. Here are my admission documents. VO: but the are many universities in Nigeria that offers this course. Why do you still want to travel as far as the USA to study the same course? I doubt your genuine intention and therefore can't give you the entry visa you have applied for. Akpos: (in anger) please give me back my passport and let me get out of this place. What do you the USA has that is not in Nigeria? Do you think the USA is in any way better than this country? If you USA is better than Nigeria, why have you choose to stay here in Nigeria instead of your country? Please how long did it take CSU to send you your i20, note I have already submitted all necessary documents and I have accepted the admission. Thanks

when were you given the Admission? I just did my i20 pick up this week. They will let you know when your i20 is ready for pickup or they will ask you if you want them to send it through the regular mail of the school which usual takes months before it gets to you. So, it's better to do a pick up of the i20. I think it's $60 with UPS courier service. You will be given a tracking number to track your i20 till it gets to you.

Spring deadline for international student is November 1

that's the general application deadline which is November 1. Application deadline for programs differs. For instance the application deadline for Masters in Electrical engineering at CSU is September 15 which is today. So, check the application deadline for your program to be sure.

they accepted it. You can look up the school and might have a change of mind. Their application process is quiet easy and no too many admission requirement.

Why do you really want to study Civil Engineering and Why Cleveland State University. I admit the first question is easier to answer because it is very personal to you. You are the one that have the best answer to that. I suggest you get a pen and paper, sit down and reflect on your past studies and experiences so far and write up two or three sentences that will answer that.

On the second question, you will need to find out what is unique about CSU and also their Civil Engineering. Usnews.com allows individual schools to provide content on their strongest uniqueness for readers. It is under the heading School Mission and Unique Qualities. That would also help you to answer your second question.

I have B.sc civil engineering and applied for Masters in occupational safety and health technology at MURRAY STATE UNI in 2015 but was denied and also in 2016.
I have another admission now for Masters in civil engineering at CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY.
My question now is what would or should be my response if I am asked by the VO,
Why civil engineering now? And why cleveland state uni now?

September 15 is the Admission deadline for international student at cleveland state university . Some of my friends applied there for spring 2018,they have got admitted and their i20s are on the way. Resumption and classes should start 2nd week in January 2018.

Go to the website and check for their application deadline dates. Most universities do send out the letter of acceptance or denial towards the middle of December.
