The position of the attorney general and minister of justice is a very sensitive position that any abrupt change may affect or delay ongoing investigations and other related matters that need urgent implementation. There are people who call for the immediate sack of Nigeria's Attorney General. They did not think of the negative implications of doing so especially considering the mass cases of anti-graft initiated by the minister against corrupt public officials. Mr Malami has already debunked allegations of being complicit in the raid carried out at the private residence of Justice Mary Odili. There is no basis for his dismissal.

After the raid on Justice Mary Odili's private residence, the attorney general issued a statement that he did not order the raid. This prompted the Nigerian Police Force to launch an investigation into the incident. Recently, five fake security officers who perpetrated the crime were arrested and detained by the police. It is baseless to call for the sack of the honourable minister even after the police arrested the suspects. More investigation is ongoing as earlier announced by Police spokesman Mr Frank Mba.

Our system of public prosecution needs guaranteed stability in order to work effectively. The system is burdened with a constant inflow of fresh cases that need urgent attention. This is why it is not advisable for the government to abruptly remove the attorney general from his position. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) liaise with the ministry of justice for deliberations or consultations.

Mr Malami is a high-level public servant with many responsibilities. Managing such a ministry requires resilience, dedication and strong qualifications. He led the federal government delegation to convince the UK court to stop P&ID from seizing Nigeria's international assets. The title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is given only to exceptional lawyers who excelled in the legal profession among other criteria.

The ambush led by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state has claimed the lives of five soldiers including a senior officer with the rank of Brigadier General. This is the latest onslaught of the insurgents against the officers of the Nigerian security forces. This calamity is a major setback for the war against the insurgency. This ambush will never be forgotten considering the gravity of the situation. It is about time the troops wipe out these insurgents once and for all. The operational capabilities of the Nigerian Army cannot be weakened by this ambush.

The military authorities have already acknowledged the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers. Their sacrifices for the continuous existence of Nigeria will always be remembered. Already, a more tactical approach is being deployed to prevent the reoccurrence of such setbacks in the war front as assured by the military. The Boko Haram terrorists take advantage of the rough terrain in the northeast to lay ambush on security convoys.

The menace of Boko Haram terrorists continues to gain momentum. This does not mean that the security forces will relent in discharging their duties. If you can remember, in a similar scenario, the troops have repelled attacks on the Askira Uba community where several terrorists lost their lives and weapons were recovered.

Many patriotic Nigerians continue to offer their condolences to the families of the fallen heroes. Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has also commended the sacrifice made by the troops and acknowledged the spirit of resilience, dedication and commitment of troops of the Nigerian Army in fighting insurgents and other security challenges across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Of course, the regrouping of insurgents across our national borders is worrisome. But this does not mean that the security forces are doing nothing to tackle their atrocities. So far Operation Hadin Kai remains active in the northeast and troops are relentless in their attempts to bring a sense of lasting peace to the region.

In the northern and southern parts of the country, the talks of secession have become so intense to the extent that people feel free to discuss it across various social media platforms. There are organisations or groups who openly call for secession but what they are actually after are, political influence, dominance and relevance in national politics. The call for secession is merely a cover for their true intentions. No region should be allowed to keep pressuring for secession because Nigeria's unity or amalgamation was not achieved until after extensive research, deliberations and consultations.

Nigeria's founding fathers know and understand our differences and diversity, yet they amalgamated the six geopolitical zones of the country because they realise the power of our unity. Nigeria becomes the largest economy in Africa and it is rapidly developing. All the regions have contributed immensely to national growth and development. The North is blessed with fertile agricultural land where animals and food crops are produced to be distributed to various segments of the country.

The South has rich mineral and natural resources which has become the main source of income for the country. The regions are interdependent on each other. Segregating the country may only lead to instability and chaos. What is happening today in South Sudan should serve as a lesson to other countries with issues of secession.

The Niger Delta creeks are made infertile as a result of oil spillage. This provided a kind of business opportunity for food crops dealers from the northern part of the country. Foods are transported to the region in large quantities. Those agitating for secession might have not considered the interdependence of the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Some groups of armed criminals have been attacking security formations and logistics in the southeastern part of the country. This tactic can never work in their interest because violence only breeds instability and destruction but never development. There is a need to embrace Nigeria's diversity and contribute to the country's economic growth.

I've noticed these acen-like spots on my face since around 5 years ago. Then, I didn't pay much attention cause I was erroneously convinced into believing it was caused by eating too much oil. Well, I cut down my oil consumption totally and those spots remain there.
