we all need to wake from our Slumber instead of always claiming spirituality. |
IS NIGERIA GOING THE WAY OF TURKEY? •Turkey is in the present day Europe and partly in Asia minor. •Apostle Paul was a citizen of Turkey because Tarsus exists in Turkey. •Christianity existed in Turkey for about 1,023 years while Christianity has only existed in Nigeria for 172yrs starting from when Rev. Birch Freeman came to Badagry in 1842. •The seven churches Jesus spoke to in Revelations 2&3(Ephesus,Smy rna,Laodicea,Ph iladelphia, etc) existed in the old Turkey. •The disciples were first called Christians in Turkey(Antioch) •Turkey once had the largest Christian auditorium in Europe called Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. •Mary the mother of Jesus was taken to Turkey by Apostle John and till date, her room has become a tourist centre. TURKEY TODAY •Present day Turkey now has 96% muslims&0.02% Christians(less than 130,000). •The Hagia Sophia(once largest church in Europe) was taken over by muslims and converted to a mosque for over 400yrs and later used as an Islamic Museum WHYCHRISTIANITY COLLAPSED IN TURKEY •Emphasis on doctrinal differences weakened the Turkish church. •Rivalries amongst denominations •Petty politics in church coupled with ethnic biase •The Turks were building big cathedrals instead of building men. HOW IT HAPPENED •Osman Ghazi discovered the disunity amongst Christians and used it to fight a Jihad that led to a mass genocide of the Armenians, the Hellen and Turks of that day. Infact, the weapon of war used was designed by a Turkish Christian. •Many Christian women converted to Islam to save their lives and some were raped. •Osman Ghazi started the Ottoman empire which gave muslims political post and made it a religion of the state. IS NIGERIA HEADING THE WAY OF TURKEY •Virtually all the mistakes the church in Turkey made, the Nigerian church has made it. •We are building Cathedrals at the expense of discipling men. •Disunity amongst churches •Ethnicity in the church •Denominational rivalry, etc. •Sharp division along doctrinal lines MORE FACTS •The spiritual foundation of Turkey is stronger than that of Nigeria and Christianity existed for over 1000yrs in Turkey unlike ours which is just 172yrs but Islam Radicalism uprooted it. If it can happen in Turkey, it can also happen IF we are not careful. •The menace of Boko Haram has destroyed a lot of churches in the north and it may take another 200yrs to evangelise Borno state alone. •There is a secret agenda to Islamize Nigeria&other African nations as contained in Abuja declaration of 1989. DON'T SAY IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE, IF WE DON'T RIGHT OUR WRONGS AS A CHURCH. SOLUTION •HEART-FELT Intercession •Aggressive evangelism- the terrorist reached out to the youths in the norths first and gave them AK-47 and bombs, if we had reached out to them on time, they'll be carrying BIBLES today. •Mission support:-God is holding the church responsible for Boko Haram, yet we are blaming the government .If we had supported missions and missionaries, we would have those insurgents to Christ long ago. •Unity of the church is key in winning this battle. The last but not the least christians should be actively involve in politics. Enough of these muslims political office holder with islamic agenda ARISE CHURCH & LETS DO THE NEEDFUL |

Now we are wating for the explanation ofthe CBN which I known would be covered up by those in authority. |
WHEN the Australian negotiator, Dr Stephen Davis, alleged that an unnamed top official of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was among the sponsors of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria many people took his words with a pinch of salt as he had also named a former Chief of Army Staff, retired Lt Gen Azubuike Ihejirika, and former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has added his voice to this allegation, affirming that his own independent inquiries showed that the same individual is indeed culpable. He went on to say that the name of the person has been made available to the highest authority in the land. The question on the lips of Nigerians is: who is this person? What is so special about him that he cannot even be named? Why can’t he be brought out for the public to see the person who has helped in sending thousands of Nigerians to their early graves while the nation is faced with the greatest threat to her unity since the Nigerian civil war nearly fifty years ago? Why has the CBN remained mute about this issue, since its name is being dragged to the mud? Why hasn’t the CBN seen it fit to tell Nigerians what it knows about this matter? Happily, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), a social crusader organisation, has taken up the gauntlet and given the CBN a fourteen-day ultimatum, based on the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. SERAP demands information about the persons involved in the money laundering and sponsorship of Boko Haram sect. A statement from the group said the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, is required to explain the exact nature of any such transactions. We commend SERAP for wading into this matter clinging to the force of the FOIA. We are waiting patiently to see how the CBN under a new manager, Emefiele, will respond to this challenge. It will be a major metric for measuring the seriousness he attaches to his work and the need to keep the Bank clean of scandals. We are greatly worried that the Presidency and the security agencies have chosen to keep the Nigerian public in the dark about the truth or otherwise of this individual’s involvement. Although the very thought that an individual in the top echelon of Nigeria’s ultimate Bank and regulator of the financial system will become a bankroller of our enemy, yet it is only such a high level conspiracy that can make Boko Haram to grow into the monster it has become. When this fellow is identified, tried and convicted, we will expect him to face the full wrath of the law. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/exposing-cbn-boko-haram-sponsor/ |
I dnt known what tfpe of president we have in thes country |
ABUJA—President Goodluck Jonathan promised yesterday that by next month, the security challenge posed by members of the Boko Haram sect who have engaged in massive killing and wanton destruction of property would change drastically. This is just as the troops have killed 60 of the insurgents. Speaking yesterday at the 66th National Executive Committee, NEC of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Jonathan who admitted that the nation’s greatest challenge was that of insecurity, stressed that what obtains presently in Nigeria has gone beyond terror, but plans to secede where members of Boko Haram want to install their own leadership. Commiserating with victims of killings in Kaduna and Kano states, the President disclosed that he would be attending the United Nations General Assembly summit on Global Terrorism which all the super powers would attend. He said: “Nigeria is having an unfair share. Terror is a global problem, and Nigeria situation is going beyond terror. When terrorists think about holding ground, attempting to install leadership, it is no longer terrorism, it is almost like going into the line of succession. Between now and October, things will change. He appreciated the Senate and the entire National Assembly for their statement and joining the government in this regard, promising to bring it to an end. Meanwhile, following the regrouping of Boko Haram terrorists and a second attack on Konduga town by the insurgents on Wednesday night, the Nigerian Army said another 60 insurgents were killed in the battle that ensued. After the confrontation which lasted from 4pm to 8pm, several military hardware recovered from the insurgents included 13 AK-47 rifles, five RPGs, two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs) and one anti- aircraft gun. Two Ford Ranger pick-up vehicles that could be used to mount anti-aircraft attack ordnance were also recovered. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/boko-haram-thingsll-change-next-month-jonathan/ |

A new CRK teacher, transferred to a JSS 2 class during the mid term, wanted to know how well the students understood the syllabus so far. He decided to start from the last topic the previous teacher had taught, "Hello class, who broke down the walls of Jericho?" There was a full minute of absolute silence. All the students just stared at him blankly. The teacher then pointed at the students in the front desk to answer the question. The students began responding. Amos: "Sir I'm a new student here, I just started this school last week." John: "Sir the day the walls was broken, I didn't come to school, I swear" MARY: "Sir I only passed by the walls of Jericho, I didn't even touch it, as it was already broken when I passed it." Rufus: "Sir, I didn't even know the walls had been broken, until you mentioned it now." The teacher became so shocked and infuriated, "What!!!" He screamed. The Students began murmuring amongst themselves that the new teacher is so mean. The teacher, shocked by their ignorance, stormed to the principals office to tell him what happened. The principal kindly responded, "Sorry about that. You know how mischievous these JSS students can be? Always destroying things and later denying it. But be rest assured, this matter would be fully investigated. Just write down the total cost in fixing the said wall, and at the next PTA meeting the issue would be discussed" Who is more stupid, the students or the principal? |

Nigerians have been assured by the Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii that some drugs and vaccines are likely to be discovered soon to contain the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). A statement handed to newsmen in Abuja by the Director of Special Duties in the agency, Dr. Abubakar Jimoh quotes Dr. Orhii as saying: “We have some Nigerian remedies that we are looking at very closely and after investigation we hope that they will be able to contain the Ebola virus, so Nigerians do not need to panic.” He clarified that the deadly virus is not a death sentence in Nigeria as the Federal Government, through the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health has managed the situation effectively and halted the rampaging spread of the disease. Dr. Orhii who recently returned from an emergency meeting of health Authorities of member-nations in Geneva convened by the World Health Organization (WHO) to stepped up the global efforts for the discovery of vaccines for the cure of the deadly Ebola, asserted that there would soon be a lasting solution to the deadly virus as some vaccines are clinically being evaluated with very high prospect of combating the disease. He said Nigerians were full of commendation and appreciation to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu for effectively containing the Ebola virus through prompt deployment of adequate funds, material resources and personnel to strategic locations. The NAFDAC boss informed that many countries are now learning from the methods and strategies adopted by Nigeria in combating the Ebola menace. He enjoined Nigerians in the diaspora to feel free to visit home as the threat of the deadly disease has been effectively contained by the government. Dr. Orhii, however, requested vigilance from Nigerians as some unscrupulous elements have started taking advantage of the Ebola virus scare to market counterfeit test kits and sanitary products. dailypost.ng/2014/09/11/nafdac-dg-says-nigeria-close-discovering-local-remedies-ebola/ |

Australian negotiator Stephen Davis, who has recently provided a series of scandalous allegations regarding the Nigerian sponsors of Boko Haram, gives another interview on the issue narrating how Shekau hijacked the Islamist group and revealing he had not been actually hired by the Federal Government. In a recent month Davis, allegedly hired by the Nigerian federal government to negotiate fro Chibok girls release. has made a number of breaking claims. He insisted that Chief of the Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika and the former governor of Borno State Senator Ali Modu Sheriff were among the major sect sponsors , which information he was given by Boko Haram commanders themselves. Moreover, the Australian disclosed the scheme according to which the insurgents were passing a substantial amount of their funds through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with the help of its top official. This weekend Stephen Davis gave interview to Vanguard making clear some information about being “hired” by the Nigerian authorities and speaking about the sect leader Abubakar Shekau. “The Boko Haram we see today is not the Jama’atu Ahlul Sunnah Lih Da’awa wal Jihad (JAS) that was operational under Yusuf – former JAS leader killed by the police in 2009… Shekau formed Ansaru which he used for kidnapping and beheading victims. This behaviour was a major departure from the original mandate of the JAS which was to purify Islam and return it to the exemplary life of the Prophet. Many among the JAS leadership are no longer active and others have been killed.” According to Davis, it allowed the terrorist to take up more extreme action, including abduction, bombing and mass killing. “What we see now is not the Yusufiya which wanted very much to settle a score with former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. It is Boko Haram as a partner to ISIS and Al Shabaab.” “I was not hired by the Federal Government” The Australian did not deny the fact that he had not been hired by the Nigerian, authorities, which the latter had claimed in the official statement . Davis admitted that he came to Nigeria in April to facilitate the release of the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram, but denied that he was engaged by any party. “I was not engaged by the Federal Government of Nigeria, any state government or any other party. I went to Nigeria in late April in an effort to facilitate a handover of the Chibok captives after discussing such a possibility with former commanders of JAS (Jama’atu Ahlul Sunnah Lih Da’awa wal Jihad otherwise known as JAS) and others close to Boko Haram.” Speaking again about motives of the insurgency sponsors, Davis warned the politicians involved that they would not be able to stop the militants like they might think: “Therein the sponsors assume they can undermine any efforts of the current government to be re-elected in 2015… Should the sponsors of Boko Haram win government in 2015, they will likely find that they cannot turn Boko Haram off or that Boko Haram will demand control of at least Borno State in return for reducing their attacks. Borno State may be just the beginning of an expanding caliphate.” Davis didn’t speak with real Boko Haram leaders – Nigerian negotiator In another development of the allegations saga, there appeared a Nigerian negotiator, who pleaded anonymity, saying that Sheriff and Ihejirika could not have been Boko Haram sponsors as the two men were actually sworn enemies of the Islamist group. The source, who was said to have been aiding the government to put an end to insurgency in the country, even told Vanguard that Sheriff was one of the three most wanted enemies of the sect. “I can tell you that the group has not forgiven Sheriff over the killing of its leader, Mohammed Yusuf, who was arrested and killed during his tenure as governor.” The source narrated that Davis had come to Nigeria on his own to secure the release of Chibok girls abducted on April 14. However he said that the Australian never met the real commanders of Boko Haram but depended on information from a member of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Amnesty for information on the activities of the sect . “We can say with all amount of seriousness that Davis did not meet the leadership and main commanders of Boko Haram during his visit to the North-east. If Davis insists that he met with any senior commander or leader of the sect, we challenge him to mention their names and ranks.” Meanwhile the ex Borno governor threatens Davis with the legal proceedings over the allegations. Reacting to the threats, the Australian dares Sheriff to sue him saying that in that case Sheriff would not be able to escape from the truth. At the same time the Nigerian Department of State Security (DSS) is believed to have started investigation over the allegations provided by Davis however it was mentioned that there were no plans to prosecute “any Nigerian” based solely on the claims of the Australian expert. The death of the celebrated journalist and Vice-Chairman of Sun Newspapers Limited, Mr. Dimgba Igwe, in the early hours of yesterday threw the media industry into mourning. He was 58 years old. According to earlier reports of his demise, which went viral on the social media by noon, and which was later confirmed by a statement signed by the Managing Director/ Editor-in-Chief of Sun Newspapers Mr. Femi Adesina, the deceased died by 10 a.m. as a result of injuries suffered in an accident caused by a hit-and-run driver as he jogged in his Okota, Lagos neighbourhood. The statement reads: “Mr. Igwe passed on today (Saturday) around 10am at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) of injuries suffered from a hit-and-run driver, as he jogged in his Okota, Lagos, neighbourhood.” It explained that “First aid was administered to him at St Raphael Hospital, Ago Palace Way, before he was moved to LASUTH for surgical emergency. He did not survive.” The statement quoted Chairman and Publisher of the Sun Newspapers, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, as describing the development as “tragic, shocking, and a dark day in the annals of journalism in Nigeria. “Dimgba Igwe was too much of a gentleman, fine brain and mind to die tragically like this,” he added. Meanwhile, reactions have continued to pour in over his tragic death, which President Goodluck Jonathan described as very painful and tragic. A statement by the president’s spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati said the deceased would always be remembered as a hardworking and dependable professional, who through his various writings as columnist, author and public speaker, demonstrated a special ability to convey the truth and his convictions in lucid, compelling prose, and in a style that was shorn of cant and foppery. “As they mourn him, the president enjoins Mr. Igwe’s family, friends and associates to be consoled by the knowledge that he put his God-given abilities to the best possible use in a very purposeful life that was wholly devoted to the defence of truth and the public interest, as well as the promotion of the highest standards of his chosen profession of journalism,” the statement said. On his part, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, in a condolence message to the widow of the late journalist, said the death is a sad loss to the journalism profession in particular and the literary world in general. A statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Hakeem Bello, quoted the governor as describing the late Igwe as a trail blazer, who along with his age-long friend and partner Mike Awoyinfa, pioneered a refreshing brand of newspapering with the Weekend Concord, the Governor recalled the vibrancy which late Dimgba Igwe brought into journalism with his inimitable writing style and comments on contemporary issues as well as the stimulating biographies which he has authored. In his reaction, the Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko described Igwe’s death as shocking, tragic and a colossal loss to the pen profession, the literary world and the Nigerian nation. Mimiko, in a statement issued by the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, said the columnist of repute bestrode the journalism profession as a colossus winning many professional awards and distinguishing himself as a worthy practitioner of the Fourth Estate. According to him, the late journalist took his job as his passion and his passion as his job. The Nigerian National Committee of the International Press Institute (IPI), in a statement signed by its chairman, Kabiru Yusuf, said the deceased will be long remembered and celebrated as a well- rounded journalist who distinguished himself as a reporter, writer, columnist, editor, media manager, author and publisher. In his condolence message, Gov Liyel Imoke of Cross River State, according to a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita, said he received the news of Igwe’s death with shock, pain and deep grief, saying it is saddening and regrettable that he died in such a gruesome manner while jogging. Recalling the late journalist’s incisive commentaries in his popular and well-read column, “Side View,” Governor Imoke noted: “He was a seasoned and consummate journalist who used his column, ‘Side View’, not only to inform but to deplore the socio- political ills in the society.” On his part, the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji described the late journalist as one of the very best of media professionals to ever come out of Africa. In a statement signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rotimi Adebayo, Ikuforiji declared: “The sudden death of one of Africa’s best professional media practitioners, in the person of internationally acclaimed Dimgba Igwe, is a national tragedy. All Nigerians had wished, never happened.” He therefore urged the relevant security agency to “Do everything possible to bring the killer of the late Dimgba Igwe to justice without delay. However, Adesina, who is also President of Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Adesina said, “It is very sad; it is a colossal loss to journalism; he was a very dedicated journalist; a General of the Guild and an impeccable writer. At our last conference in Kastina, he contributed a lot and was one of the discussants in a paper. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Adesina said “To hear that he is dead one week after is indeed devastating; Nigerians in general and journalists in particular will miss him. Do farts carry germs? It’s probably something you’ve never thought about, but now that you’ve heard the question, we bet you’re sort of curious. But be warned, this isn’t going to be pretty. “It all started with an enquiry from a nurse,” said Dr Karl Kruszelnicki during his science show on the Triple J radio station in Brisbane, Australia. “She wanted to know whether she was contaminating the operating theatre she worked in by quietly farting in the sterile environment during operations, and I realised that I didn’t know. But I was determined to find out.” According to the Seriously, Science blog at Discover Magazine, Kruszelnicki investigated the question by getting in contact with Canberra-based microbiologist, Luke Tennent, who helped him design and carry out an experiment. The aim was to discover whether or not the wind emitted from a human was filled with germs or just simply smelt bad. Kruszelnicki explained what happened next: “[Tennent] asked a colleague to break wind directly onto two Petri dishes from a distance of 5 centimetres, first fully clothed, then with his trousers down. Then he observed what happened. Overnight, the second Petri dish sprouted visible lumps of two types of bacteria that are usually found only in the gut and on the skin. But the flatus [gas] which had passed through clothing caused no bacteria to sprout, which suggests that clothing acts as a filter.” Kruszelnicki and Tennent noticed two types of bacteria in the second Petri dish - in the centre were the bacteria caused by the subject’s fart gas, they said, and a ring of different bacteria around the edge of the Petri dish "was caused by the sheer velocity of the fart, which blew skin bacteria from the cheeks and blasted it onto the dish”, reports Seriously, Science. The good news? The bacteria that grew was not in any way harmful. The other good news? Scientific evidence for why you should never, ever get naked and fart near your food. You're welcome.
