freeze001: They attempt to score cheap points on how they're not like previous administrations that would dip hands into the national treasury yet keep mum on funds already generated for political party activities especially through sale of forms for governorship elections.
Is it not foolishness that they generate funds yet are unable to prudently deploy them towards common, legitimate bills? Is it not an even worse problem at the centre where they cannot think of ways to beneficially generate funds yet even that which is available they fritter away and cannot manage same? u dey mind dis akara sellers d ghost nature of their secreteriat is a graphic representation of crisis, growing discontent n anger ova spoils of war. d only tin keeping dem silent for now is their ruling party status - hope n possibility of getting a bite from d national cake. |

dealslip: To be quite frank, Buhari has not started work at all and he has squandered all his goodwill. It would be difficult for him to get back the overwhelming support he enjoyed before now. Apart from Abiola, no other Nigerian has enjoyed the overwhelming support of Nigerians in an election like Buhari had last year. This goodwill has diminished significantly and is fast sliding into hatred and exasperation. Buhari hasn't shown any intelligence or objectivity in his handling of many issues like economic direction, social political issues and empathic responsiveness to the plight of Nigerians. To make matters worse, he has had more gaffes than all Nigerian politicians put together making us doubt that he is in full control of his mind.
He has continually ignored the demand of Nigerians and even his party members to comment on critical issues like his nepotism and handling of Fulani herdsmen menace yet he comments on issues like Yemen - Saudi hostilities yet he hasn't commented on the resurgence of Boko Haram in the last one week. He has become a recluse and a hermit. Nigerians barely hear from him now. Could it be true that he has lost control of the mandate given to him last year to his cousin and uncle ?However one thing is certain he has successfully heated tension and gross anger in Nigerians, he wouldn't go to far with it. The Nigeria of today is quite volatile and at the edge of a revolution. No amount of propaganda will hide the impending crisis in the Nation. He who has an ear let him hear what the nation is saying. buari is not hia to serve. he's on a revenge mission. pipul like buari on revenge mission don't end well in history. |

How does that translate to Igbos being their worst enemies?? Igboland is an egalitarian society, we will not tolerate shortchanging of the masses by a small elite cult because that is the problem with nigeria at the moment. Igboland is not backward, we reject any arrangement of creating an elite enclave while the rest of the region perish in abject poverty correct talk. |

Do they think IMF and co are taken in by that insipid, seemingly simple look of supposed integrity which masks nothing but a black heart and thieving plans?
This is what sane, sensible and decent Nigerians have been saying even from the campaign era but all zombies will say is 'In Baba we trust, he has integrity, Baba cannot steal and once he is in charge no other person can steal'! Simple commonsense, they have to be told. Is it surprising though when they will travel and be moping at meetings, no notes or records to even attempt to appear serious if not intelligent.

I just hate a country where a supposedly central government will keep pursuing ethic and sectional interests to the detriment of others, even actively destroy others and nothing is done! This unitary nonsense has got to die and unfortunately, SE reps and leaders have gone to sleep while the people struggle under self help without more. No meaningful projects or infrastructural development underway...crazy really! in sane climes wia things work, states ar responsible for their resources while they contribut a small percentage of their earnings to d center. but hia in d cess-pit, d reverse is d case. too make it worse, northern states ar going about their illegal minning business without any form of harrasment while niger deltans ar harrased with military invation ova illegal refineries. honestly niger delta is d most cheated region in nigeria. |

freeze001: All these issues will be resolved the moment the regional leaders resolutely demand restructuring for resource control and fiscal federalism! Congratulating him or not is just superfluous cos it won't change anything.
They should come up with a comprehensive blueprint for development with short, medium and long term targets and make it clear that they need more autonomy to achieve this! I expect that if this happens others will sit up, start lookin inwards and do similar things for themselves. That is how they promised Ogoni cleanup with so much fanfare but after that it's d usual stories meanwhile they scored political points of how fulani man has come to do what their son could not do...typical blackmail! dat ogoni clean up was a political scam by d dullard to bully dem from agitation after his useless comments. i just hope dat d elders will not settle for anytin less dan resource control. |

gidgiddy: Tony Elumelu is an Igbo man, for that alone, it is better for him to stay as far away from the Nigerian presidential elections as posdible. The presidency of Nigeria is a poisonous and worthless office and every body who ever held that office turned out to be worse than who they took over from.
Nigeria an unworkable entity full of incompatible people and warring sides. An Igbo man should not tarnish his reputation by seeking to be president of a country built on fraud and deciet. A country which is actually an enforced union of people.
Let the Yorubas and Northerners keep that office and us Igbos take a front row seat and watch them continue their destruction of Nigeria like they have been doing for the last 50 years.
May an Igbo man never be president of the British colonial creation called Nigeria, there are more important things for us Igbos to aspire to totally agree. |
