Business / Emulating The Eagle, And Slok Since 1987 (1): By Dr Orji Uzor Kalu by DrUche3(m): 7:34am On Jul 10, 2017
I find it really interesting whenever I encounter young bright minds who always seem to be inquisitive of business and entrepreneurial growth process. They tend to be highly aggressive towards acquiring knowledge necessary for success with the youthful energy they possess. Such bright minds will most likely have a whole lot of questions for God on the last day. Questions concerning his mystery and things that have baffled the human mind, and even confused science.
However, I recently encountered one of such who continuously flooded my email with questions that would require several pages for a satisfactory response, and which I consider worthy of sharing.
Actually, this is not the first time I am getting various questions through mail, ranging from the secret of the success of my business empire, to my advice, and requests for business tips for a successful and exceptional business growth. The numerous questions have prompted me to dedicate some columns in my weekly leadership series to business and entrepreneurship affairs.
This particular mail from one Mr Johnson Chukwu reads: “Good day Your Excellency, I am your fan and admire you mostly for your business acumen. I learnt that you started business at a very young age and that in 1979, you were the only Nigerian who had same car with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Can you tell me your motivation and secret of successful business?
Which year did you exactly build your conglomerate?
And what was your earlier drive?
How did you make it happen and is such obtainable now considering the current economic situation of our country?
I want to be an entrepreneur and I want to know if there is any hope for us, the youths. Do you think that you could have made such youthful wave in this current dispensation in Nigeria?
When establishing your company, did you truly envisage it will turn to a conglomerate years later. Do you think…?
The questions were actually very much, but through it, I saw the sincerity of purpose in it. I saw his genuine desire to learn, one I would give full attention to, and satisfy his inquisition. In the past, I have always tried to respond to all such questions mailed to me, especially that which concerns the youths. The youths are the future of our great nation and teaching them the right attitudes, skills and proper orientation is an investment into the future that can never be too expensive to make.
This singular question reminds me of my days as a young entrepreneur: I was highly inspired and determined to succeed. Hence, I have taken upon myself the responsibility to direct many Nigerian youths in particular, as well as African and global young enterprising minds in general.
Prior to my gaining international recognition as a businessman, I had this uncommon curiosity towards knowledge and business growth. In the cause of my career pursuit, I had been friends with many global reputable figures and was privileged to romance ideas with them. George W. Bush (Sr) remains a towering figure in the US and was among the nearest person I had in those days to someone you would call a mentor today.
He was a successful businessman who joined politics to become the 41st US President. He invested in the oil business and was a dollar millionaire by the age of 40.
He would often say to me, “Emulate the Eagle. Live to add value to humanity because it is the primary objective of man.”
I recall how deeply those words moved me, especially for its vast and rich content.
I kept on pondering why I should emulate the Eagle?
Can I really add value to humanity with nothing?
I also recall his kind responses to issues which were always measured and significant.
Today, the eagle he said I should emulate is the same eagle I urge Johnson and all youths to emulate.
An understanding of the eagle’s lifestyle and attitude will help one to survive in every situation, be it business, one’s career, or any other area of personal endeavour.
The Eagle is a visionary bird, it connotes strength. Little wonder it’s on the coat of arms of many countries. An Eagle’s vision is said to be eight times stronger than the human vision, as an eagle is able to sight its prey from more than one mile away. It is able to see very far ahead to be able to take the appropriate sites on objects that lie ahead.
The growth of an eagle is quite interesting as every eagle begins its journey as an eaglet. The father eagle goes to hunt for food, while the mother eagle stays in the nest to watch over the eaglets. When food is brought, mother eagle tears up the food for the eaglets to eat, and this practice continues only for three weeks. After the third week, the eaglet is expected to tear up the food by itself when it is brought in.
Also, within the first three months of an eaglet’s life, it undertakes the first flight and is expected within six months to be able to go out by itself and hunt for its own food.
In the Eagles growth cycle, no matter the condition or environment, it has to meet up with the expectations of its growth stages if it hopes to survive in the wild.
Therefore, your primary goal should always be to conquer any environment you find yourself.
The eagle’s lifestyle holds that change is constant . As an individual and youth, you need establish yourself gradually such that, on each stage, you are already equipped , even if not financially, but with creative ideas that will change your life and hopefully change your earlier situation, and also extend it to the world.
Achievers relish economic challenges and use them profitably. The society is increasingly becoming knowledge –driven and does not have room anymore for the person who cannot think or be innovative or master the odds. And make no mistakes about it, the odds will always be there.
Again, in order to remain air-worthy, each year, an eagle’s strength must be charged and renewed in order to maintain its colour and glory. It must subscribe to the demands of an annual renewal of strength by shedding off its old feathers and growing new ones, ready to fly better and higher in the successive year.
Likewise, in order to successfully pursue your vision, you too must occasionally need to shed off old habits and items that burden you without adding to your life. And come out with new ideas, perceptions and practices.Perception and creativity is a common denominator in the pursuit of vision.
The wind and storm that is capable of destruction gives the eagle a colourful flight. The eagle is capable of soaring to unbelievable heights and it does not hide from the storm. It struggles against the storm while riding on it, and takes advantage of the storm for a sweatless flight.
I had a vision to contribute to humanity and be an employer of labour, and that was why I formally built the Slok Group in 1987. Today the testimony of that vision has become global. You must have vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacle is. If you maintain that, you are on your way to success.
The vision must be big and focused. A big, focused vision will produce big result.
To be continued…

First your decision should properly address the following:
1. Which do u have more passion for?
2. Which is more predominant in ur proposed site?
3. Do you have adequate skills for either of them?
4. What's the demographic cultural pattern/behaviour of your proposed site?
These and many more are questions u must answer with all sincerity before setting the ball rolling.

I doubt that person referred himself. in fact he used to warn people from referring themselves and that they should get back to him for his referral links. from what he said, he said they stopped paying after 20days and told him it was due to 2-week sectional upgrade. This is the same excuse given to others which leaves us with no thought that to say they are technically scamming people
Hmmmmmmh... very true!
I recall vividly and would wonder why on earth he'd do that. Seriously this drama is getting more interesting.

Guy, I am Tonyrollsroyce, the man that started this Thread. I am nicknamed Tonyrollsroyce by friends because the only brand of vehicle that I use is Rolls Royce. Actually, I am Tony Ceramics. I am an importer of Ceramics products from China and Spain. I own Shops in major Towns in SW, SS, and SE. I am not a Boy. I am a man with MEANS acquired legally and legitimately. Any major distributor in the Ceramics industry knows me very well...
Yes, back to PMC. I challenge you or anyone to do google search on PMC and you will see where the Admin or someone posted it on Jacobian. Jacobian was my first place of sighting PMC. I tried it, and it worked just Fine. I pumped over 250 million naira in buying several Business Membership Units, and they have been paying me daily, even till today. Having been convinced about PMC, I was encouraged to start this thread so that some one out there can also benefit from PMC.
Yet, you have the temerity to call me or other people who have given their own testimonies as bunch of scammers and rogues... Well, I do not blame you. I will only hand you over to the Law of Khama. You will only reap what you sow. For calling Innocent people scammers and rogues, someone someday, in the nearest future, is going to accuse you of more heinous crimes that you NEVER committed. The Law of Khama is coming after you, and it will not depart from you until it has fully actualize itself in your Life. That is the only way for you to know how it hurts when someone do to you what you have done to other innocent people...
Finally, over to the Law of Khama to have Its Way in your Life......
.....
....
Mr Tony, you didn't have to sound that hard to convey your message sir. Though it feels really bad from your explanation but that young man is obviously a victim of the upgrading stuff and he as well as no one else will be happy about it.

You're an acclaimed "old man" in the system, sounding nice would have encouraged him and other potential investors sir or don't you think so?

I just got a feedback from someone that also invested with them, that person is very vocal here on the thread. The person was even at a time teaching people what to know about pmc and how to register. He said they stopped paying him after 20days and told him they are doing sectional upgrade like they tell others but I'm surprised he hasn't uttered any word here.

let's be cautious with pmc here, the selective payment is really a big cause to worry about.
when I have spare 150k and hear they have paid those they are owing, I will try them out as I still wish to.
I think I know who you're referring to sir.

My issue is why will someone deliberately refer himself/herself and still come here to say "they've stopped paying me..."?

Some others claim they didn't break any hedge yet got bitten by the serpent!

The whole drama playing out here is only making potential investors skeptical as no one is willing to loose their hard earned money.

Right now I'm just sitting on the fence!

He could be right about not being paid and not referring himself to warrant such development, but his claim that people that testify registered on NL almost same time is false, while some of them registered in 2017, some registered in 16, 11. I took my time to check some of them.
Let's stop false claim or attempting to paint people as scammers. May be those being paid are lucky, May be those not being paid are unlucky or violated PMC rules, we don't know.

Follow your discretion and mind to invest if you want to. i'm still battling with my mind whether to invest or not, but I'm most likely to do that soon.

Note: I'm not a PMC subscriber.
My bro, I think we share the same school of thought here. I've signed up for some months now but have not subscribed to some units. I'll try and do so shortly.

Politics / Emir Sanusi: The Problem Of Nigeria (Youths Wake Up!) by DrUche3(m): 3:21pm On Jun 12, 2017
EMIR SANUSI BARES HIS MIND ON HAUSA, IGBO AND YORUBA… THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA….. A MUST READ !

The former Central Bank Governor, and Emir of Kano His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sanusi the second , surprised guests present at the Muson Centre for the launching of the book of Sir Olaniwun Ajayi.

Below is his unedited speech.

“Let me start by saying that I am Fulani (laughter). My grandfather was an Emir also fulani my uncle and guardian was also the immediate late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero and therefore I represent all that has been talked about this afternoon. Sir Ajayi has written a book. And like all Nigerians of his generation, he has written in the language of his generation.

“My grandfather was a Northerner, I am a Nigerian. The problem with this country is that in 2009, we speak in the language of 1953. Sir Olaniwun can be forgiven for the way he spoke, but I cannot forgive people of my generation speaking in that language.

“Let us go into this issue because there are so many myths that are being bandied around. Before colonialism, there was nothing like Northern Nigeria, Before the Sokoto Jihad, there was nothing like the Sokoto caliphate. The man from Kano regard himself as bakane. The man from Zaria was bazazzage. The man from Katsina was bakatsine. The kingdoms were at war with each other. They were Hausas, they were Muslims, they were killing each other.

“The Yoruba were Ijebu, Owo, Ijesha, Akoko, Egba. When did they become one? When did the North become one? You have the Sokoto Caliphate that brought every person from Adamawa to Sokoto and said it is one kingdom. They now said it was a Muslim North.

“The Colonialists came, put that together and said it is now called the Northern Nigeria. Do you know what happened? Our grand fathers were able to transform to being Northerners. We have not been able to transform to being Nigerians. The fault is ours.

Tell me, how many governors has South West produced after Awolowo that are role models of leadership? How many governors has the East produced like Nnamdi Azikiwe that can be role models of leadership? How Many governors in the Niger Delta are role models of leadership? Tell me. There is no evidence statistically that any part of this country has produced good leaders.

You talk about Babangida and the problems of our economy. Who were the people in charge of the economy during Babangida era? Olu Falae, Kalu Idika Kalu. What state are they from in the North?

“We started the banking reform; the first thing I heard was that in Urobo land, there will be a curse of the ancestors. I said they (ancestors) would not answer. They said why? I said how many factories did Ibru build in Urobo land? So, why will the ancestors of the Urobo people support her?

“We talk ethnicity when it pleases us. It is hypocrisy. You said elections were rigged in 1959, Obasanjo and Maurice Iwu rigged election in 2007. Was it a Southern thing? It was not. “The problem is: everywhere in this country, there is one Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba and Itshekiri man whose concern is how to get his hands on the pile and how much he can steal.

Whether it is in the military or in the civilian government, they sit down, they eat together. In fact, the constitution says there must be a minister from every state.

“So, anybody that is still preaching that the problem of Nigeria is Yoruba or Hausa or Fulani, he does not love Nigeria . The problem with Nigeria is that a group of people from each and every ethnic tribe is very selfish. The poverty that is found in Maiduguri is even worse than any poverty that you find in any part of the South.

The British came for 60 years and Sir Ajayi talked about few numbers of graduates in the North (two as at independence). What he did not say was that there was a documented policy of the British when they came that the Northerner should not be educated. It was documented. It was British colonial policy. I have the document. I have published articles on it. That if you educate the Northerner you will produce progressive Muslim intellectuals of the type we have in Egypt and India. So, do not educate them. It was documented. And you say they love us (North) more than the south.

“I have spent the better part of my life to fight and Dr. (Reuben) Abati knows it. Yes, my grandfather was an Emir. Why was I in the pro-democracy movement fighting for June 12? Is (Moshood) Abiola from Kano ? Why am I a founding director of the Kudirat Initiative for Nigerian Development (KIND)?

“There are good Yoruba people, good Igbo people, good Fulani people, good Nigerians and there are bad people everywhere. That is the truth. “Stop talking about dividing Nigeria because we are not the most populous country in the world. We have all the resources that make it easy to make one united great Nigeria . It is better if we are united than to divide it.

“Every time you talk about division, when you restructure, do you know what will happen? In Delta Area, the people in Warri will say Agbor, you don’t have oil. When was the Niger Delta constructed as a political entity? Ten years ago, the Itshekiris were fighting the Urobos. Isn’t that what was happening? Now they have become Niger Delta because they have found oil. After, it will be, if you do not have oil in your village then you cannot share our resources.

“There is no country in the world where resources are found in everybody’s hamlet. But people have leaders and they said if you have this geography and if we are one state, then we have a responsibility for making sure that the people who belong to this country have a good nature.

“So, why don’t you talk about; we don’t have infrastructure, we don’t have education, we don’t have health. We are still talking about Fulani. Is it the Fulani cattle rearer or is anybody saying there is no poverty among the Fulani?”, he said.
LESSONS FROM THIS MESSAGE

Tribalism is not our problem. Tribalism and religion are artificial problems created by selfish leaders for their own personal interest.

There are only two major tribes in Nigeria. The Elites and the Masses. Once you make lots of money, you belong to the elite tribe. When you are a commoner or suffering, you belong to the tribe of the masses. If you are an elite, and you need more power, or elective position, you sow seeds of tribalism and religion among the masses, so as to sway their emotion for your personal victory. This happens at both the national and state level. Unfortunately, after the election when they have won and joined their “sworn enemies” to drink and party, the gullible masses continue to fight each other.

Even smart people who belong to the masses, sometimes will sow seeds of tribalism and religion among the masses, and then the masses will carry them up until they belong to the elite class. It is a classic strategy used over 3000 years ago in the art of war. A commoner who aspires to sit with the elites, could stir up powerful tribal or religious sentiments, such wave if properly utilized either by shedding blood or destabilizing the elites, carries the commoner to the elite class. But once there, he immediately mingles and makes peace with the elite tribe, and turn his back on the same masses that helped him get there.

Youths are the worst victim of this powerplay, they kill each other, call other tribes unprintable names, do terrible things and sometimes, even lose their life, thinking they are fighting for their right, not knowing that they are fighting for the personal welfare of someone, whose own children are probably safe in America or London.

So youths, don’t hope on the government. If you don’t have a job, create one. There is abject poverty in the south as well as the north, whether Ogoni or Maidugri. At the same time, there is massive wealth in Lagos, Onitsha, Nnewi, Aba, Kano, Abuja, irrespective of zone.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it well and never remain idle. No job is too low for an idle hand, or else the devil will find work for you. As you become independent, and grow your capacity, do not lose hope in Nigeria. We are the largest economy in Africa and soon the world will fear us. Western powers, don’t like big economies that threaten them, America will do anything to break China, but China is wise to resist that. China has 1.6 billion people, we have only 170 million, and we are talking of breaking.

China has 5 major religions which are Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Islam and Christianity. Nigeria has only 2 major religions, Christianity and Islam. Yet we claim that religion is our problem.

America, the strongest economy is comprised of every tribe in the world, since they accept anybody from any part of the world. Yet they are united and extremely patriotic. Nigeria has only 3 major tribes, and we claim tribalism.

Think clearly and deeply, and you will realize that empowering yourself is the best course of action, not fighting each other. And once the youths are empowered, they can begin to take back their future from the hands of the old and corrupt generation that has been blinding Nigerians with hatred, while looting all her resources. Sani Abacha’s loot is still stashed away in Switzerland, did he use it to develop the north? Those that stole billions under GEJ stashed it away in foreign banks, bought expensive toys, jets and foreign homes, are they using it to develop the south? Now the ones stealing currently, including the “grasscutters”, are looking for Ikoyi apartments, abandoned houses, and pit toilets to hide it, are they using it for the youths in their tribe? NO!

Youths shine your eyes ! Don’t always fall for this tribal, religious sentiments over and over again. Nigeria is bigger than these corrupt elites. They are the problem, not the poor masses.
