The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has described mercy of God as one of the major purpose the country has not witnessed another civil war amid the challenges confronting Nigeria.

Adeboye, who spoke during a special programme for the country, held under the theme, ‘Free Indeed,’ at the national headquarters of the RCCG in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, said that despite the frustrating circumstances in Nigeria, the country is still united due to God’s grace.

The cleric said it was possible for a country to witness freedom while its citizens would still be in bondage.

His words: “It is possible for a country to be free, but its citizens are not. Nigeria has been free for 55 years, but many of us are not free. If not for God’s intervention, Nigeria would have been in another civil war. Without His intervention in this land, we would not be experiencing peace. We should keep praying for His peace to reign.

“We should also keep praying for the President and the Vice President so that in the next one year, in a way we cannot explain it, Nigeria will be celebrated among the nations of the world. We should also pray for all states in Nigeria so that in the next one year, all of them will also be celebrated.”

It was really a celebration time on saturday in the camp of the All Progressive Congress(APC) as party members feel elated and rejoiced over the removal of Governor Wike..

The Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal had sacked Mr. Wike as the GovernorofRivers State on the grounds of irregularities and ordered a fresh vote within 90 days.

The tribunal, which delivered its ruling in Abuja on Saturday ordered that a fresh governorship election be conducted in the state.

Justice Suleiman Ambrosa, of the election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja, said the court was satisfied with the complaint by APC candidate Dakuku Peterside that the April 11 election was fraught with violence, voter intimidation and ballot fraud.

Corps members have been urged by the office of the National Youth Service Corps to tweet live events in their various camps.

The directive came on Friday, October 23 through the official twitter handle of the NYSC, advising that corps members posted to different camps across Nigeria should tweet events as they occur in their orientation camps.

Postings for the 2015 Batch B corps members came out on Thursday with thousands of recent university graduate deployed to various states to complete the mandatory one year youth service.

Corpers were also advised to promote co-existence and peace among fellow corps members during their stay in camp and after.

They were also advised to report early to camp on the first day of its opening to enable the corps members complete their registration and avoid long queue.

Also, it was noted that corps members who made first class will be posted to universities.

“Note: First Class Graduates will be posted to universities to teach,” NYSC said.

The corpers are expected to report to camp on Wednesday, October 28 for their orientation.

Camp activities include some para-military engagements like marching, parades, endurance trekking and cultural activities.
