I'm not surprised

Start with the wheel balancing and alignment first.

Okay, thanks man. I'll find time to go for that in the course of the week.

Check your wheel balancing bros.

Break disc problem is like this... Breaking from top speed your steering wheel vibrates but stops when you take your leg away from the break pedal.

You sure say your disc bad b4 selfgrin

okay thanks for the input.

Lol, yeah the brake disc was bad mehn...there were traces of cracks n some part broken. So when I use the brake, I hear notice. In fact, that particular leg brake pads tends to finish on time before others coz the surface was also not smooth.

You will feel the vibration on the steering if it's from the front wheel.

Meanwhile, when you press the brake, dies the vibration stop ?

I felt vibration on the steering but looked as if the whole car was vibrating it. I'll try n pay attention to it again.

Yes, when I slow down, the vibration tends to reduce n later stop since I'm not driving fast.

What vehicle are we talking about here? If the vibration is not under braking, I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the work done.

Go for wheel balancing and alignment. If there's anything wrong with your tires or wheel they will tell you.

Its Honda Accord.

I guess I'll try to go for wheel balancing n alignment.

Funny thing is that my tyres are relatively still new. Bought them last year all brand new. Although since I changed all four tyres (did the changes in phases though, 2 tyres each), I haven't done wheel balancing n alignment. Only for me to change brake disc n start feeling the vibration.

Does the vibration come from the back? If it's not from the back, I'm not sure it's because of the work done.

Mehn, it's really hard for me to tell if the vibration is from the back or not since I was on top speed. Pls is there a way I could detect if it's from the front or back?
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by dTransporter: 1:37pm On Jun 05, 2022
Guys,

Please, I recently changed my brake disc for my left back leg. I haven't driven fast since I changed it on Wednesday. Only to realise yesterday when the road was free that once I'm on top speed, say 80-100, my car starts to vibrate.

Could this be an issue from the brake disc? Coz before changing it, I dont experience such even when on top speed. What else can I check?

Appreciate your inputs.

Honestly, brake disc n pad is a simple fix that shouldn't warrant going all the way to Ladipo, the stress nko? Change your mechanic if he is truly ripping you off.

If you insist, The earlier the better, before no space to park.

There's always a designated space managed by the parking touts for such. I think it's ₦1k for parking, for the whole day.

Go to where the parts r sold, sample like 3 sellers, don't allow anyone lead you to any part seller. Refuse to be assisted. Go on your own. have a fair price in mind.

Ask the part seller to recommend a good mechanic that can fix the parts for you. Take the mech to where you are parked.

After installing your stuff. Check it. Pay mechanic, Pay tout 1k for parking. N you r on your way out.

Appreciate your feedback.

Thing is, I want to be sure I'm getting the right one, hence me going there with the car so that they can loose n change it sharply. Plus I dont want my mechanic to be the one to get them for me.

I actually intend going there on Saturday being tomorrow all things being equal.
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by dTransporter: 11:02am On May 27, 2022
Abeg guys,

How una take dey go ladipo market? Need idea on how to go about it coz my mechanic don chop me finish. So, I wana start going to the market to do little things myself.

My fear is where to park before entering the market and getting someone to fix the stuff. I intend changing my brake pad n disc for one of my back leg.

Also, are there any risk involved doing this kinda thing ?

Appreciate your honest feedback.

You see, that's one of the things I'm saying... Doing a stop without putting it on Boot app self is a no no for me let alone asking me to take a congested route. I'll ask you if you want to have a stop or not.

No be so two guy ordered a ride from VI to phase1 and they said they want to stop by Chicken rep to buy food the first thing I told them is "I don't allow eating on my car" 2ndly, did you guys added this stop because I don't seems to see it here. One responded in a polite manner, no problem but I won't take long.

Got to MRS and pull over, parked and turned off engine. The other was left in the car in front seat with me.

I took my phone and was reading updates... The guy in the car then said but you're not supposed to out off the car and ac since you're still on a trip. I just looked at him and responded by saying, do you even know that I'm not being paid for this time you guys are wasting here because it's not in your stop. Even if you include it as a stop I'll turn off my car because it's not good for the engine to stay running. I turned off my car in a stand still traffic.

He then said, I'm an engineer so you can't tell me that. I then told him good! Since you're an engineer you should know better why then are you stressing me. Leaving engine to run on a standstill for too long reduces it life spam, I myself I'm an engineer as well...

His friend walked in and we left.

By and gone those days I'll be pampering riders because of 5 stars.

Genuine tokunbo or new shock will surely outlast a gassed one, but there's high chance of you buying gassed one as a tokunbo in the market so it's better to gas it yourself unless you have a sure tokunbo plug

Thanks for the input man.

I actually dont have a sure tokunbo plug hence my reason for asking. I may try the gasing to see how far it goes. At least now I have an idea of how much they gas the stuff.

Una sabi me na I did an intensive and internship during my rental days with about 5-6 partners so I learnt a lot from owners partners, mechanics and from personal experience as a car owner as well before venturing into the business.

Dmechy have stated it here b4, most tok shocks are gassed. Remove yours your mechanic will pick them, gas them and sell to spare part dealers then they will sell it as tok back to you.

To me provided the iron in the shock itself is not bend, gassing is recommended, although, not every technicians know their onion well enough. Again, the genuine tok shock how guaranteed is it? Most of these parts are from buchered vehicles who can tell the state of it? So it's a 50:50 chance.

Getting a new and genuine shocks can break one's bank account or make one bankrupt or even run into dept. The China made parts are also not reliable. So if I can extend the life span pf my shocks by regassing b4 either selling the car or buying a genuine one why? The choice is yours to decide

Thanks for the input man. Much appreciated!

1st, this ur mechanic workshop fine ooh chai!! grin

na so me too revamped my front suspension last week Tuesday I spent 20k

2 Lower arm bushing 6k
Pressing and others 1k
Stabilizer linkage 3k
Gasing of 2 front shocks 4k (I free my mechanic to chop my eyes on that cos me I know say e no reach like dat)
Workmanship 3k
Bear n fish 1k grin

D job is no more profitable, in fact nothing is profitable again in Nigeria every where don burst.

APC has ruin Nigeria

Please, is it better to gas shocks or just to replace it? Which last longer biko?

My mechanic mention about gasing my shocks but wasn't sure since I dont know how that works.

I would never understand these girls thought process.

This minute they want a cool calm and quiet driver, one that will get to pick up, exchange greetings; if there's any and drive to destination without saying anything all through. End ride get, paid and move.

Next minute, they want the talkative, hoodlumic driver.

.....I am always the calm and minding my business type.

So I picked three girls from Wole Olateju Lekki to Ogudu. After the greetings and drove straight to destination without giving them face. Close to destination, one from the back said ' this our driver sef just bone us, not even a word since.

Another one goes..'imagine you carry three fine girls and you are not talking to us, OGA why?.

In my usual manner, i smiled and said what do you want me to say you? You don't expect me to go all chatty with you guys.

One said at least ask us how we are doing bla bla bla. cheesy

Different day different Wahala

Problem everywhere...e no dey finish.
