We all had those class mates whose dreams were to be musicians, actors and actresses, photographers, painters, visual artists, footballers, lawyers, doctors and much more but Nigeria happened to them. Nobody is telling their stories Nigerians and the world at large don’t like those type of stories, we mostly prefer success stories.

It is not as if in abroad you can’t fail as a musician or you must “blow” but the difference is you have access to affordable quality studios, equipments, professionals, talent agencies, talent shows, auditions, schools for whatever talent you think you have or you want to develop. People spot them young in school you learn actual music from people who know what they are teaching not a music teacher who uses chalk to draw every instrument on a blackboard for you.

Yes there are people who will take advantage of you and your talent and ignorance all over the world but Naija own worse pass. The man know man alone is on another level.

Atleast if you fail as a footballer, lawyer, doctor, musician etc abroad you haven’t failed in live go and do something else earn your salary and continue your life.

I didn’t come to earth or to Canada to date an Indian girl, I never even liked Indian movies or culture.
Also this girl isn’t a typical Indian girl she’s taller than the average Indian girl by a lot.
In India she’s usually the tallest girl around she’s also not as traditional.

If I wanted to date a girl simply because of her race I would have dated the first white girl I came across or I would have asked every non black girl out.

But that hasn’t been the case; infact since I have been here I have asked out 2 black girls, 1 white girl, 0 aboriginal, 1 Indian girl.

Now the ball is in my court I say I wasn’t gonna kiss you (mainly thinking she was gonna reject the kiss before her demeanor let me know she expected the kiss) she looks a little disappointed then I said I’ve always wanted to kiss you since the first day I saw you not just today she told me that was when she knew she really really liked me, her face lit up again the night went on we get the exact same number of shots I said I am not drunk I’m from Rivers state my brain can handle an ungodly amount of drinks and we “people from my tribe” don’t get drunk she tries to follow me she gets drunk she says she can’t go home like this I offer to take her home make sure she gets in safe she says no and asks please can I stay over at your place I say yes I gave her the bed and was gonna sleep outside on the couch she says no she feels bad for taking my bed and making me sleep on the couch or the floor after all my bed is a queen size bed long story short we slept on the same bed but nothing happens. Earlier in the evening when we came to my place to change she said with a smile on her face “I won’t go up with you, I don’t trust myself around you something may happen”

So I know she wants me but I don’t think we should do anything just yet.

The next morning she asks what happened last night I explained everything I didn’t know then but she told me later that she was surprised to have slept with me and I did nothing I said well yes you were drunk and I wasn’t going to have segs with you in that state she said years later her respect for me went up📈but she wouldn’t have cared so much if we did something.

In my head I’m thinking why would I have segs with you in that drunk state I want you to be conscious and present so you know that the sweetness and enjoyment you are experiencing is 100% from me and what we are doing and not the alcohol.

So back to the story she knew the kind of person I was and when she had issues with her flat mate she left to stay with me, our relationship grew. We started dating.
After her experience what she’s been through with me why she’s experienced are you surprised she’s considering leaving $300,000 inheritance, her family disowning her, her friends abandoning her just to be with me?

lol 🤣 I think we are due for an Update.

Yes you are right. She broke up with me over a very long WhatsApp text talking about how she never wanted us to break up and she intended to come back to me and what not but after going back she’s had a third and fourth person perspective and our relationship is toxic because I do things to make her jealous and she gets very very jealous which she used to swear she was never ever jealous before she met me but with me she gets so jealous she started doing things she didn’t think she would do things if she saw in the movie she’d say this b!tch is crazy so I made her a crazy b!tch

Well long story short we are toxic and everyone wants us to break up, I also kind of reluctantly agreed because I know with 0 support any little issue we have we have no one to turn to anybody we turn to says break up even if it’s just a normal couple issue like deciding what to eat for dinner, assuming “I wanted goat curry and she wanted Jollof” and she told her friends or anyone the next thing they’ll say is you guys should break up, but when her sister was being beat up physically assaulted by an Indian man they’d console her sister and tell the sister to forgive the Indian man and stay to work things out🤣, and she stayed for a while till it became too much she was going to d!3, one day in their presence the man beat her up they had to separate them and he insulted the mom I can’t remember all the details now but it was serious that day, that was when finally they said Ok, she can leave the man (They weren’t even married yet) but with us the slightest inconvenience they want us to break up,

I personally don’t care what people think or say because for most of my life I wanted to please people, I tried but they were never ever pleased it was never enough if I get 3rd place in school they’d ask what about the 2 people ahead of you, if my nails were clean they’d ask what about your hair if that was done they’d ask what about your socks if you did all you had to do they’d say “And so what? You want a medal for doing what you’re supposed to do? 🤣” so for me people have never really cared about me, my opinions or my interests other than my mom and dad of course so I don’t care much about other peoples opinions but she does, she loves to please people especially her family. Her dad number one, her sisters, her mum, her uncles and aunts etc.

When she was talking about leaving I told her, distance makes the heart grow fonder, nostalgia can fool you into thinking something that was average of even bad was good. And everything I told her has now happened.

the first few days she arrived she told me everyone is Nice to her, they love her here, why did she ever leave. I didn’t want to spoil the moment by reminding her all the things she told me went down especially between her and her mom.
(Long story short her mom had 2 girls and wanted a boy some horoscope or family or poorly done gender test or whatever told her she’d have a boy to continue her husbands legacy but that child turned out to be a girl. And her husbands brothers all had boys she was the only one without a boy so Maybe she held a small grudge against that baby for not being a boy, she bought boy clothes, picked a male name, and even gave the kid male haircuts as a child. She and this child would have lots of disagreements and fights.)

So I told her chill, relax savour the moment you’re still an adult visitor in their eyes who came from abroad to visit bearing expensive gifts of course they’ll treat you with respect and adoration they haven’t seen you in more than 4years now wait 2 weeks and see how things go, you’ll become the normal child that left many years ago.

We started communicating less and less and stopped communicating entirely at a point, for a while things were rosy between her and her family… until the mom decided to arrange marry her to her friends son (which if you remember the mom promised we won’t arrange marry you till at-least 3 years or till you finish the program you said you want to do)
But at the back the mom had been planning with her friend promising her the girl is coming and is ready to marry etc.

But the guy she was to be arranged married to didn’t like the fact that she had friends and she visits the mall and she didn’t like the guy the way he was so opinionated/authoritarian and his views on women and their roles in the family and society etc. So they both tried to frustrate meetings and marriage plans But she told me she stopped communicating because of the whole arrange marriage thing going on, and since she wasn’t communicating I was giving back the same energy.

As if that was not enough the mom went through her phone one evening and found pictures of her at a friends place with weed aka mary Jane aka loud aka canna (it’s legal in Canada) but that picture was in India in India it’s not exactly legal at least not that I know off, but it’s easily available and accessible.

The mother also saw pictures and videos of her with me (no weed/mary J) (well they knew about me already) but the pictures were a little steamy, also she found some stuff about her ex who is a Muslim Bangladeshi (if you don’t know Indians and Pakistanis and some parts of Bangladesh don’t get along well, also Hindus and Muslims don’t get along well long story short allegations of forced conversions, marriage jihad, disrespect and discrimination both ways, cows being held in high regard by Hindus and not so much by Muslims to taunt Hindus etc etc) the mom freaked out and long story short she (the girl not the mom) sustained some scares and bruises from the mom.

It’s been under 2-3 months and everything had already gone downhill fast.
The whole family was watching a movie one evening and the mom slept off so she woke her mom up to go sleep inside, the mom decked her and shouted at her not to do that again, the rest of the family didn’t agree with the mom saying her actions were rash the mom became livid😡 saying that they were supporting the girl over her in her own home.

The mom is dramatic from all I’ve heard not just from the girl but her sisters and other people that night the mom even threatened su!c!de complete with a rope to the fan they had to rush her take it away they stayed with her all through the night, so things became extremely tense, so tense that she left the house that night with a few clothes and some essential things and no one called her or even noticed till 24 hours later.

Where was she gonna go? at the time no family wanted her to stay with them. When they got calls saying she’s not hear what they’ll say is “I hope she isn’t coming here I don’t have plans for her or space for her” So she went to an old time friends place for awhile then moved to a shared hostel.

remember this was someone everyone back home promised heaven and earth if you leave him and come back home you will add many years to my life - her dad, we will add you to the Will, we will forgive you, we will treat you better - her mom, we won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do - her mom, etc etc etc.

Long story short one day she calls me high/drunk and just kept crying and telling me she misses me and she wants me back and reminiscing on all our inside jokes and pet peeves and pet names all that but I didn’t know what to make of any of these because I’m thinking she’s just high/drunk and stressed, she calls me a second time the following day same time same type of talk and days later she calls and asks what’s going on and all that and she’s very sober this time after the call she ends with the same “I love you” she used in the other 2 calls and I’m like “hold on you can’t just slide that in there I thought you were only saying those things because you were drunk/high and she says no. I meant everything I said I was high but I wasn’t wasted, I knew what I was saying. Things got so bad she started drinking to cope back in Canada we bought a bottle of Champagne and other drinks the bottle and the drinks lasted us more than 1 year only visitors drank the drinks. I have also never had alcohol since she left, she was also on the same part to not having any at all even while around smokers and drinkers she had quit drinking entirely but now apparently at-least for those two days we spoke whenever she missed me she’d cry and drink herself to sleep

So as things are now she’s looking for a job, she’s starting some educational program and she’s trying to get back with me and convince me to come stay with her in India she claims housing and food won’t be as expensive as in Canada but my concern is Opportunities, life satisfaction and standard of living more than anything

‘Money coming in is more important than money going out’ if 100k is coming in and 80k is going out no problem, but if 0k is coming in and 2k is going out Big problem” she claims it’s be easier for me to get a job because I am more learned, more educated than she is, I’ve got more certificates than she does. And Indian employers love certificates. But I know they have 6 day work week instead of 5 and the working conditions I don’t think will be the same as Canada.

She says she’s got a few non-Indian friends from Canada going over to India in December and she’s arranging the entire trip itinerary for them and would like if I could come along. I’m like I would love too but that’s something you plan and save months ahead for. and I have no budget right now also since it’s all girls it may be a little awkward for me. She gets jealous easily and I have no sisters so… I don’t know from the little I know girls think and operate differently from guys. I’m more used to understanding and figuring guys out than girls.

One small example I had a Naija friend who had a white Canadian babe he has/had a situationship with and my Indian girl and this white Canadian girl used to always meet at our place so they also became acquaintances/friends, one day she (the white Canadian) offered me a ride to work, this was when I had no car, and I was running late so this friend told his girl to offer me a ride since we are going the same direction in my “guy with no sisters” brain I said yes thanks thinking that will save me time and money and save me from going late to work only to come back and was told by my girl at the time that the white Canadian girl said I’m the only guy who didn’t hit on her ‘actively’ and I’m like oh good but I didn’t hit on her at all, she starts to not talk to me🤣 I was forking confused till today I don’t know what I did wrong but I apologized.
During the ride not once did we talk anything love related I didn’t even look at this girl once, she told me about how long she’s been in the city all her friends had moved etc. I only said “nice car, oh, I see, ok, ahn-uh” and thank you, when she dropped me off. She was the one doing all the talking. About the outing she went with my girl, her car and the name she calls it, there was some long silence during the ride.
But apparently by her own female perspective this was “inactive flirting”. And by my own girl at the time her girl perspective this was “cheating”.
Well this was what she meant by we were toxic.

When we went to the club we always got compliments and girls usually approached me she used to get jealous When guys approached her I don’t get jealous I saw it as a compliment.

She would get easily jealous and I sometimes out of frustration of having to apologize over nothing would say things or show things that I thought was actual cheating or flirting and she’d be hurt.
There was always drama 🎭 but there was even more good times.

I don’t know maybe I’m wrong but I also saw her jealousy as love, I thought the reason she gets so jealous is because she’s really in love. She also said she wouldn’t be able to do long distance relationship when we first met but now from what she’s been saying and suggesting she wants us to try it.

When we first met I told her you’ve never been in love before, many women never really have and most women will never really be in love.

She said the idea of sex & the act scares her and she hates it, she used to claim she was a Les to not date guys and when we started hanging out I asked her about it she laughed and told me she wouldn’t say she is she just tells people that to not get approached but she would say she’s bi. But even that was a lie as well. Not that I even mind but I told her you’ll be certain about yourself when you find someone you love you will enjoy the act and you will like the person.

The third most important thing is ‘access to Capital’ or loan to start the farm and purchase or rent farm equipment this capital or loan is not wheel barrow or shovel and hoe and a bag of seeds 🤣 as our politicians love to do not even 100,000 naira not even 1 million naira. In Nigeria a tractor costs 6-20 million naira. Government can subsidize farm equipments or build factories to produce them in Nigeria so the price goes down.

As a farmer depending on what you’re farming and the size of your farm You need a tractor, a combine, a tiller, a plough, a truck/van, a farm hand, an agency to forecast about the weather every year (what crops will be best to plant and when to start planting) sometimes planting season changes by a few weeks or even months so you either plant earlier than normal or later than normal because of an El Niño weather event or other such occurrence that are beyond your control you need some specialist to observe the soil and weather to explain better to you)

Where I live now I see REAL FARMING with good equipments, government agency gives the farmers free yearly reports on what to expect concerning weather, heat waves, hailstorms more than usual downpour, wild fires, tsunamis, drought etc.

All the farmers are tax exempt so when they buy certain things like car batteries for their tractors and farm machines and even vehicles they use and register to their business they pay less they don’t pay Provincial or state tax.
So they buy those things cheaper than you who is buying it for personal use.

These people here can only farm 5 months in a year due to extreme cold weather snow covers the ground for the remaining 7 months
They also have fewer arable land than Nigeria but yet they produce more food and export more food produce than Nigeria that has more arable land and can farm 12 months in a year

To be honest with you sometimes I think God purposely handicapped this people by giving them these limitations of weather; excess snow, extreme cold and extreme heat and only allowing them to be able to farm for 5-6 months a year because imagine if they could farm for all 12 months in a year.

They can only farm 5 months yet they farm enough corn, millet, sorghum etc to be amongst the worlds largest producers of these crops and Nigeria with ability to farm 12 months a year imports shamelessly from them.

lol 😂 she cooks okro soup well and Jollof rice as well, she also loves Rema and Burna Boy but Rema is her number one, she also loves Shallipoppi, she has tried alot of Nigerian food and snacks and she likes them she was learning to make alot of different stuff but she’s good at Okro soup and Jollof rice. She loves puff puff as well they have something similar they call Gulab Jamoon but she loves puff puff more than their own version of it and I like their gulab jamoon
