A member of a cult group, Akobundu Mbah, has confessed how he and his members beheaded a rival cultist identified as Wabali Ebubedike and buried him in a shallow grave on a farm road in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Mbah, who is currently in police net, said he was forced into joining Icelander cult group by the leader of the group named Italian, who is currently at large.

The suspect explained that Italian had insisted that they (Icelander members) should capture Ebubedike alive for him because the deceased was challenging his authority.

Mbah, who claimed he was a farmer by profession, said the capture of Ebubedike by the Icelander cult group was accomplished in February.

“We were able to get Ebubedike. We caught him around Omaeke in Isiokpo. Like I said; we are members of Icelanders. Italian is the number one.

“Our boss, Italian, said we should search for Ebubedike for daring to challenge him (Italian). When we brought Ebubedike to our boss, he (Italian) beheaded him and we buried him in a shallow grave.

“We were not part of the beheading; we appealed to our boss not to kill Ebubedike but he insisted that he was going to kill him. We buried him somewhere in the bush in Isiokpo,” he added.

Speaking on the incident, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, confirmed that the gang beheaded their victim and buried him in a shallow grave along a farm road in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area.

He said the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Police Command, Dr. Paul Umoh, and his men swung into action and arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of Ebubedike.

Mysterious headache and stomach pains have killed 16 children and youths in Saburi 1, a village opposite Mopol Barracks along Kubwa expressway, Abuja. Saturday Vanguard on Thursday visited the palace of the Chief of the village, Alhaji Mohammed Yamawo who was said to have travelled out of Abuja for an urgent assignment.

Speaking to Saturday Vanguard on the development, the Son of the village Chief, Alhaji Halidu Mohammed confirmed that 16 persons whose ages ranged between 10 and 25 years had been officially reported at the palace to have died within the last two weeks. According to him, “families of the deceased persons came to the palace that their sons and daughters complain of headache and stomach pains and died just like that before they could reach Kubwa General Hospital or Garki General Hospital.”

“We do not have big hospital in our community except for few private ones that look more or less like chemists.”

“The chief invited some medical experts from town to come and uncover the cause of the sudden deaths but the Doctors could not pin the headache or stomach pains to any sickness or disease”

A father who lost two of his daughters to the cold hands of death, Alhaji Ibrahim Nuhu said the senior daughter, Aminat died complaining of headache while her junior sister, Aishat died four days after.
Nuhu told Saturday Vanguard, “My senior daughter Aminat complained of headache and we administered paracetamol on her thinking that it would subside after some minutes but it did not. We then decided to go to hospital for proper examination and treatment but before we got to the hospital Aminat died on the way.”

“We were gathered after four days for a prayer session for the late Aminat when her junior sister, Aishat, started complaining of a similar pain and she died almost immediately. It was a terrible blow on me and their mother.”

As to what could be responsible for the strange deaths, Nuhu said, he had no idea, adding that he left the whole thing in the hands of the Almighty Allah.

Another father who lost a 16 year old son, Mr Joshua Abuwata could not hold back his tears while narrating his ordeal to Saturday Vanguard. He said his second son, Dickson started complaining of headache which he initially thought was a minor thing, sent for paracetamol for him and ensured he took it before the boy went inside their apartment only to come out some hours later looking dunce and staring in the air.

Abuwata went on, “When he started staring into the atmosphere without uttering a word or responding to me, it dawned on me that something was indeed wrong. I held him, yet he did not say a word. He went inside the kitchen served himself food but he could not locate where his mouth was and therefore mired his whole face with soup.”

“At that point, l knew it was very serious, so I cleaned him up to take him to the hospital only for him to drop dead. I have never seen or experienced such death in my life.”

Some residents who spoke to Saturday Vanguard said government should help investigate what was going on in their village, arguing that neighboring villages were not experiencing such tragedy. They alleged that that the sudden death started happening five days after the village head carried out a sacrifice during which he went round the village with some of his people.

They further alleged that the 16 persons were just the ones that were reported at the palace, that the number of children and youths who lost their lives in that circumstance in the last 14 days were up to 27.

However, residents of Saburi 1 community called on the council authorities to build a primary health care centre in the community to relieve them of the difficulties in accessing medical services. The residents, who lamented that the absence of a clinic in the village constituted a source of worry for them, said the search for medical attention took them to distant places.

The village Prince said that the presence of a clinic in the community would be of great importance as villagers could easily access medical services anytime, lamenting that the
benefit has eluded them, even with the size of their population.

Similar deaths were recorded in Lagos communities where about 20 children lost their lives.

Cause of death was unknown until last Monday when authorities in Lagos confirmed the children died missiles.

Even medical officials and the media attributed the tragedy to mysterious causes. Now, Abuja community is experiencing same.

Police in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe are hunting for three women who abducted a man from a park and raped him before taking away his semen.

The suspected sperm harvesters are said to be driving a white Toyota Cresta.

The incident happened on February 8. The suspects allegedly offered a lift to a male hitch hiker along 6th Avenue. The man was travelling to Cowdray Park at around 8PM.

One of the women allegedly used a condom while the others had unprotected sex with him. They allegedly took his semen with them.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango yesterday said the suspects are still on the run. She said they would be charged with aggravated indecent assault once they were caught.

“They picked their victim at an illegal hiking point along 6th Avenue at about 8PM on Tuesday, February 8. “Their victim was travelling to Cowdray Park and while on the way they changed the route prompting him to inquire where they were taking him. They told him they were taking a short cut,” said Insp Simango.

She said the women stopped their car in a bushy area along Victoria Falls Road before taking turns to sexually assault the hitchhiker.

“One of the women used a condom while the others had sex with him without protection. They then took away his semen before dumping him,” she said.

Sperm harvesters made headlines in 2011 when they were pouncing on motorists along the Gweru-Harare highway. In 2011, three Gweru women were arrested after they were caught at a roadblock with 31 condoms that contained semen.

Rosemary Chakwizira, 24, Sophie Nhokwara, 26, and Netsai Nhokwara, 24, all of Mkoba Village Four, faced 17 counts of aggravated indecent assault but were acquitted due to lack of evidence.

Last year, a Gweru commuter omnibus driver Edson Nkiwane allegedly offered an 18-year-old vagrant accommodation at his house before collecting his sperm that he stored in a bottle, after performing MouthAction on the homeless man.

Three persons have been arrested by the police after a 40-year-old woman identified as Helen Peters allegedly died in their custody.

Uwadiegwu Henry, 25, Monday Ochonu 25 and Taiwo Adebiyi, 57, allegedly committed the offence at 36, Fashola Street, Papa Ashafa, Agege.

According to the Police, Henry claimed that he was the boyfriend of the deceased. He was also accused of conspiring with Taiwo, who happens to be a nurse to kill the victim.

Henry and Taiwo were accused of administering the Lagatine injection to incapacitate the victim so as to kidnap her and thereafter, extort money from her rich husband, which led to her unfortunate demise.

Taiwo was said to have supplied the injection that killed the victim, while the other alleged accomplice, Monday, tied the deceased’s hands and legs backward with a rope and also covered her mouth with a piece of cloth which suffocated her to death.

Their plea was however not taken..

The offences contravene and are punishable under Section 221 and 231 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

The Magistrate, Mrs K. A. Ariyo adjourned the matter till 31 March for (DPP) Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.

A six year old female pupil at the De-Emerates Nursery School, at highbrow Rijiyar Zaki Quarters of Kano State, was allegedly raped by two of her teachers.

The mother of the victim, said that she had taken her daughter to school on Thursday at 7am. When she returned later that afternoon, at about 1pm, she was told that her daughter had fallen sick.

According to the mother who spoke with SaharaReporters, “a female staff informed me that she was sick and cannot even stand on her feet.”

The young girl was then rushed to the Imam Wali Hospital, nearby her school, but was then referred to the general hospital due to physical damage to her private parts.

At Murtala Muhammad General Hospital the mother was informed that, due to the seriousness of injury inflicted on her daughter, a police officer or Hisbah Official must be informed.

The official and medical professionals then told the mother that her daughter was in urgent need of medical attention because of the severity of her rape.

When the little girl regained consciousness at the hospital, she told those present that it was “Uncle Bello and Uncle Sulaiman” in the morning who had told her to lie down and bring something out of their trousers and “put it here [referencing to her private parts].”

A journalist tried to speak with Hajiya Ruqayya, the school Proprietress, but she denied that the rape took place at her school and asked him to leave immediately.

The parents of the victim have reported the incident to the Divisional Police Office of Rijiyar Zaki Quarters for further investigation to unravel the circumstances that led to the unfortunate development.

Last Tuesday, a 25-year-old casual worker, Raphael Nwoye, allegedly went on rampage and stabbed his 33-year-old colleague, Ifeanyi Onuoha, to death, injured two others who tried to make peace in the Ajao Estate area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that 33-year-old Onuoha was stabbed in the neck and in the back at about 8am on Niyi Ogunbameru Street after the suspect claimed that Onuoha insulted, had been rude to his lover, identified only as Ngozi, on several occasions.

Nwoye, who was one of the casual workers who usually offloaded containers, had had an altercation with Onuoha a few weeks back over Ngozi and had warned the deceased to desist from insulting his lover.

It was learnt that on Tuesday, when Onuoha, also a casual worker, came into the area to see whether there were containers to offload, there was a fresh argument over Ngozi.

It was said that Nwoye, who had a knife in a bag he carried, rushed at Onuoha and stabbed him in the neck and in the back.

The deceased reportedly moved away while two bystanders, one of them identified only as Kenneth, tried to hold the suspect to prevent further attack.

An angry Nwoye was said to have allegedly stabbed the two peacemakers, prompting a resident to quickly alert the Ajao Estate Police Division to the bloody fight on the street.

Onuoha, Kenneth and the third victim, whose name had yet to be ascertained, were said to have rushed to the Isolo General Hospital. While Onuoha died before reaching the hospital, the two others were said to be receiving treatment. The suspect was thereafter arrested by the police.

When PUNCH Metro got to the area on Wednesday, most residents were not willing to talk about the incident.

A security man, Chukwu Ebuka, however, told their correspondent that Onuoha and Nwoye were friends and labourers in the area, until they became rivals over a girl.

Ebuka added that there was a third friend, Tony, who had tried to help the duo settle their differences.

He said:

“The girl in question is afraid. She has left this area since yesterday. Apart from Ifeanyi (Onuoha) and Raphael (Nwoye), there is a third labourer – Tony. Sometime in January, Nwoye had raised the issue that Ifeanyi was misbehaving with his girlfriend because he insulted her, but they settled the quarrel.

Yesterday, Tony had called Ifeanyi to come to the area as there were containers to be offloaded. When Ifeanyi arrived, there was a fresh argument over the girlfriend, and Raphael became angry and brought out a knife.

“After killing his friend, Raphael was about escaping when people stopped him that he must not escape. During that process, Raphael stabbed two more persons. They were also bleeding but fortunately, we rushed them to a hospital, and they are still alive.

“We do not know Raphael’s family. He is one of those men who do menial jobs on the street. He had been moving about with the knife in his bag for days before the incident.”

A factory worker, who declined to give her name, said she saw Onuoha writhing in pains as she came to work on Tuesday.

She said:

“I heard the man shouting, ‘He has killed me o, help help’ as I was coming to work. Blood was all over the place. Both of them do not stay on this street. They only come to work if there are containers they can offload.

“People were shocked that the fight over a girl degenerated into killing.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the case would be transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation for further investigation.

She said, “Nwoye was arrested for allegedly stabbing Onuoha to death. The deceased is of a yet-to-be-known address. He was stabbed in the neck and in the back, and he died on the spot.

“His corpse was deposited at the Isolo General Hospital Morgue for a post mortem examination, while the suspect had been arrested. He will be transferred to the SDCI for further investigation.”

A 16-year-old secondary school student, Raimi Fatai, reportedly died in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, following alleged administration of a liquid substance on him by three of his classmates during a ritual.

Vanguard gathered that Fatai and his classmates had embarked on alleged money-making ritual with one of them, said to be the son of a native doctor, giving the deceased and another the substance.

A source close to the students told our correspondent that they consulted the herbalist to seek protection charms and ‘traditional knowledge enhancer.’

However, Fatai, who later fell ill after taking the substance, was said to have died two days later while the second victim, who was also on the verge of death, was taken to hospital.

Policemen from Adatan Division were said to have taken the corpse to a mortuary and arrested the other students for questioning. Findings have shown that Fatai’s corpse was later released to his family for burial.

It was further reported that Fatai’s father, who was bothered about the sudden death of his son, approached the father of another student who led them to the herbalist’s den before the case was reported to the police.

Authorities of the school (name withheld) summoned a meeting with the parents of the entire student populace.

The principal of the school confirmed the incident to our correspondent but stressed that the incident occurred outside the premises of the school during the Valentine period, so there was little the school authorities could do about it.

When contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relation Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the command was investigating a sudden and unnatural death involving students of a secondary school in the state.

Adejobi, however, confirmed that the command had received conflicting reports on the case, vowing that the command would do a thorough investigation on the case.

It was a sad weekend in Ndubia Inyimaegu community in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State,
following reports of the death of one Jacinta, who was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, James Uguru,
over adultery.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, ASP George Okafor, revealed that the suspect had angrily beaten his wife to stupor when the
deceased stopped him from chasing after her alleged lover boy.

The Lagos-based Uguru was said to have become suspicious of the wife’s alleged promiscuity following rumours making the rounds on the matter in the community whenever he visits home to see his family.

It was learned that trouble started when the couple was discussing in the sitting room and suddenly a phone started ringing in their bedroom. As the husband made to go for the phone, his wife held his waist, preventing him from moving.

It was gathered that as he was being prevented from entering the bedroom, the wife’s alleged lover ran out from their bedroom. His wife’s insistence that he should not chase after the man made him vent his anger on her.

A source said: “He started punching the woman, who eventually collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.”

It was further gathered that the suspect, while in Lagos, had been suspecting the wife of having an extra-marital affair with the said lover before the ugly episode.

According the police spokesman, the suspect has been arrested as efforts were on to arrest the said lover boy.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old trader, Mallam Isiaka, for allegedly raping a nine-year-old boy in the Iju area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Isiaka was arrested and detained on Saturday by the Iju Police Division after the victim, Christopher, (pseudonym), complained about pains in the anus to his mother.

Christopher, a primary 1 pupil, who stayed with his. family on Coker Alhaja Street, Old Akute Road, Iju, was said to have opened up to his mother that Isiaka allegedly raped him through the anus at different times when she sent him to buy items from the trader.

Our correspondent gathered that the boy was taken to the Mirabel Centre for tests which revealed that the boy had been slept with through the anus. Further tests to ascertain infections were carried out on him.

The mother thereafter reported the matter at the police station and Isiaka was arrested on Saturday.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Christopher also told his mother that he could not open up on the incident because the suspect allegedly threatened that he (Christopher) would die if he reported anything to his parents.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, a neighbour, who identified herself only as Olawumi, said the parents first became suspicious when Christopher was sent on an errand penultimate Monday and he came back with his pants soaked after staying longer than usual.

She said, “Isiaka sells items across the road in his shop. The boy’s parents used to send him on errands to the shops. He bought household items like sugar, milk and biscuits from Isiaka. We call him mallam.

“It was on Saturday that the boy got the courage to open up on the incident.

The boy said mallam had been raping him in his shop anytime he ran errands for his parents.

“The boy said the mallam warned him that if he opened up to his mother, he was going to die. The mother calmed him that he was not going to die as the mallam threatened.

“About two Mondays ago, the boy came back from school. and he was asked to go and buy items from the shop. He came back with his pants soaked. He later confessed that the mallam had raped him about eight times.”

Another neighbour, who gave his name as Chukwuka, said, “The mallam is not known with any wife though he has stayed long in this area. The baffling thing is how he did it eight times and nobody caught him for once in the shop.

“The boy went to the hospital on Sunday and the tests came out positive that he had been raped.

“The mallam is still denying it, but the boy insisted that it was him and the tests had also confirmed the assault.”

Christopher’s mother, who did not want her name in print, said the boy’s anus was wider than hers, and if not for her persistence, her son would not have opened up as he was afraid of the mallam.

She said, “We have gone to the hospital and they have given him some drugs. We were supposed to go to the hospital again.

“If you see my boy’s anus, it is no longer like a child’s. It is wider than my own. Ordinarily, he is an agile child, but he suddenly became cold recently. If not for the Spirit of God, I would not know since he is not a girl. I would never think anyone could be raping my boy.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed Isiaka’s arrest, adding that the case had been transferred to the Isokoko division for prosecution.

She said, “The suspect was arrested for allegedly defiling the nine-year-old boy.

“The case is now at the Isokoko division where we have the Family Support Unit which handles cases of domestic and sexual violence. Justice will be done in the matter.”

Gbaramatu-Ijaw man, he is more than a leader.

“People can call Tompolo, the Ibe- ebidouwei of Ijaw nation (Someone who wants the good of Ijaw nation) criminal or somebody, who has eaten all the federal government’s money, but at home in Gbaramatu, he is still revered.

They (Tompolo and Federal Government) were business partners; they should settle the issue amicably instead of dragging everybody into it,” Gbenekama stated in the concluding part of his interview, last week, with Niger Delta Voice in Warri.

His words: “For me Tompolo is more than a Gbaramatu leader. He is a symbol of Ijaw struggle. He has tried his level best to attract development to our area. He is also standing in for federal government as far as vandalisation and crimes in the waterways are concerned. I stand in solidarity with him.

“That is not to say I condone illegality. He has made enemies in the course of fighting for federal government. If you have issues with him, sort them out amicably so that the people in Gbaramatu do not have to suffer. They can look for soft landing for him. That is what we are saying.

Gbenekama noted, “When these business transactions were on, I was no party to it, but I know that this young man made a lot of enemies so that what is happening could as well be the handiwork of those bent on getting their pound of flesh.”

According to him, “He (Tompolo) actually frustrated the economic lives of some people who were criminals; I stand in solidarity with him. He has also said he would respect the law under a due process. It is for the federal government to keep faith and make him believe there is no hidden agenda in this whole saga. Because what we find these days is somebody arrested for one thing, tomorrow, 1001 extraneous things come up and you are not given the right freedom.”

“Besides, any perceived success recorded by his (Ayiri’s) committee could not have been by his input alone. As far as am concerned, Tompolo has assisted every agency concerned with bringing sanity to the waterways and he is still assisting until tomorrow. It could not have been Ayiri alone.

“All of us worked to ensure peace and security reigns in that axis, I was born and have lived in that area; I have never seen any of these people claiming credit on security in the area come near our kingdom. I only see the aura and power of Tompolo ensuring that people were not stealing, kidnapping or cooking illegal oil arbitrarily,” he said.

On the current fate of the Nigerian Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko, does he entertain fears about the Federal Government’s Gas City project at Ogidgiben and Gbaramatu Sea Port, especially with the Ijaw/Itsekiri rancon, he said,

“The Gas City in Madangho (Itsekiri) and Deep Sea Port (Gbaramatu), two arms of the Export Processing Zone, EPZ projects are good to go.

“The Interface Committee for Ugborodo and that of Gbaramatu agree on how the stakes should be. Those fomenting trouble should be prepared for a backlash on any disruptions they are bringing into the project.”

15-year-old Latifah Smith-Nabengana from Ohio, USA claims Jesus impregnated her through the spirit. She said the visitation came in July 2015. According to World News Daily report.

President Muhammadu Buhari is billed to leave Abuja for Suadi Arabia and Qatar tomorrow to engage officials of both countries in talks for the stability of oil prices.

The president who would be away for a week will be accompanied to the journey by a high-powered Federal Government delegation, including the Minister of State (Petroleum) and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.

On Tuesday, president Buhari would fly to Riyadyh, the Saudi Arabia capital to meet talks with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and senior officials of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A statement by the presidential spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina on Sunday stated that the "Ongoing efforts by Nigeria and other members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to achieve greater stability in the price of crude oil exports are expected to be high on the agenda of discussions between President Buhari and the Saudi Monarch."

Similarly, the statement added that "Crude oil prices and market stability will also be on the front burner when President Buhari goes on to Doha on Saturday for talks on Sunday with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani."

The President is also scheduled to meet with leading Saudi and Qatari businessmen in Riyadh and Doha.

It is also expected that the meeting with the businessmen would eventually lead to investments in Nigeria’s mining, agriculture, power supply, infrastructure, transportation, communications and other sectors consequent upon an invitation president Buhari would extend to them.

Furthermore, President Buhari would also hold meetings with heads of international financial organisations and multilateral associations in Saudi Arabia even as he will also visit Medina and Mecca to pray for greater peace, prosperity and progress in Nigeria before going on to Doha.

49 year old Nigerian man, Muhammadu Igomigoh, a security guard, shot his Nigerian girlfriend, 44 year old Nnenna Ogbonna, a licensed nurse and then killed himself during an argument at their home in Middle River, Baltimore USA on Tuesday February 16th.

According to police report, Igomigoh and Nnenna had two children together but no longer lived together. Igomigoh
lived in the 300 block of Shagbark Road while Nnenna lived in the 700 block of Northrup Lane, where the shooting happened.

Detectives found that he had visited her home on the day of the incident and the two had argued over finances.

Igomigoh, who had a licensed gun as a security guard, shot his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.

The Olubadan-in-Council has in a letter, warned Dr Alex C. Alozie to stop parading himself as holder of the title of Eze Ndigbo of Igbos in Ibadan and Oyo State.

Meantime, Alozie yesterday protested against the letter.

The letter addressed to the President General, Ohaneze Ndigbo, marked LL8co/02/16 and signed by one Oladepo Abiodun Esq states that “Our instruction is to make it clear to you that your action and that of your group you purport to represent in Ibadan and Oyo State in general amounts to an act of insubordination, illegality and a calculated attempts to cause chaos and breed a state of anarchy in the state.”

But, responding Dr. Anozie said, “We had informed the whole world in the past of a high court judgment over the Igbo leadership tussle in Ibadan and Oyo State which favoured Dr. Alex Anozie and our association, ACDA, affiliate of Ohaneze worldwide.

Making reference to the letter from the council, he said the documents referred to were documents that featured between 1997 and 2010 when most people were confused by the deceit of his opponents.

While addressing newsmen at his ‘palace’ in Ibadan yesterday, he said. “the State High Court in Ibadan had ruled on the 18th of February 2014 which no other court has vacated, that only me, Dr Alex Alozie should be paraded as Eze Ndigbo of Ibadan and Oyo State.”

He further stated that “it is quite unfortunate that most people were confused through disgruntled individuals who go about deceiving people and parading themselves against the judgment of the High court in spite of the fact that the judgment of the High Court has neither been vacated, nor have they got any stay of execution against the case.”

He further clarified that the title of Ezendigbo, Onyedu Ndigbo, Onyeisindigbo or Ochiigbo all mean the same thing in Igbo expression and that not withstanding anybody or group is at liberty to refer to him as any of those mentioned Igbo titles.
