Canada does not deserve to be called a developed country.

As a first world with a very big country and large economy, why are they in mess? With just about 1m surge in population.

Canada is overrated abeg, nothing person wan tell me.

I say this all the time and some people don’t get it. Canada is overreacted coming from someone that have lived there for over 8 years. Things that common sense can fix, it’s a struggle for them.

These people keep tightening up their door day by day hmmmm

Hello good day

When did you submit your application and how did you track it.
I submitted since August 10, 2024

I tracked using this link https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.CIC.gc.ca/en

[quote author=TradeSunMoore post=132693564]YES APPROVED. Congratulations. Just wait to receive the request letter to submit your passport.. You are good to go.

How long does it typically take for the passport request letter to be issued these days? It’s been over two weeks since the study permit tracker showed everything is completed, but I still haven’t received the passport request letter.

A decision. Is made on your application, which seems to be a positive one. Register on the IRCC tracker, you should see a visa and study permit number in there .
You are right, I registered and saw study permit number and visitor visa document number. Both has expiry date of Jan 2026. Does this mean it’s been approved and they are waiting to post the letter and request for her passport?
Thank you so much

Post:

How long does it usually take to receive a final decision from IRCC after biometrics confirmation?

It’s been over two weeks since my biometrics were confirmed, but I haven’t heard back yet. Before this, IRCC asked for an additional document – my sister, who is my primary sponsor, needed to upload her bank statement to show her salary deposits matching her paystub. We uploaded it, and a week later, IRCC confirmed they received the updated document. A few days after that, I received a letter saying my biometrics are valid until a certain date, but still no decision.

Meanwhile, my school reached out to inform me they’re suspending the course I initially applied for, so I needed to pick another program. I selected an IT course, but since my undergraduate degree isn’t IT-related, the school is asking for a resume showing 3 years of IT experience. I only graduated in 2022, so I don’t have quite that much experience yet. I’m hoping if my visa gets approved, having over 2 years of IT experience by then might be enough for the school to reconsider. This IT course is the only realistic option available for the winter term; most other programs, including healthcare ones, are suspended until fall (September).

Now, I’m really confused about what to do next and worried that IRCC might be contacting my school about these recent changes. I was hoping for the visa approval so I could negotiate with the school or explore other options. Someone mentioned that if IRCC requested additional documents, it’s likely a positive sign, as they would have denied it already if it was a no.

For context, my tuition is paid in full, and I have a GIC with 21k CAD. My sister owns a home and my school is in the same city, so she is providing me with accommodation as well. This is my third application since my first two were denied as they were poorly handled by my previous visa officer (a story for another day, hopefully when this application is approved!).

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

With Limited pathways to PR assylum claims are increasing in canada..
Marc miller needs help grin intends to distribute assylum seekers from ontario and quebec to other provinces to ease pressure on ontario and quebec all provinces refused to take assylum seekers..
Alberta requested for increased PNP quota for economic migrants from 9,750 to 14,000 the feds refused, alberta reminded the feds about the refusal to increase PNP quota in the past, instead of increasing PNP allocations, they pushed assylum seekers to provinces which was halt..now is payback time to the feds..
Now all PNP is surged ,permanent residents admissions from abroad crippled.
I can never understand this, they make it very difficult for students, some of them highly educated and young and can quickly contribute to the economy bit rather take a refugee that can't speak English and keep them in hotels, paying them. Not that I don't wish the asylum seekers well but I can never understand Canada in matters like this.

I struggle to understand Canada and their immigration decisions. They make things difficult for students, many of whom are highly educated, young and could quickly contribute to the economy. Instead, their focus seems to be on the refugees who may not speak English, giving them money, putting them in hotels (all these at high costs). While I wish the asylum seekers well, Canada’s priorities in these matters are confusing to me.

Hello
Pls how did you do this GIC transfer from your bank to the Canadian bank account
I learnt the GIC accepts only a one time transfer into the account and Gtbank has a policy of transferring $10k per day...so that'll mean do 2 transfers
Pls let me know how you were able to successfully do yours

Anyone who has an idea or has done this GIC should pls let me know.
Thanks in advance
Hey, did you get a response, I am in the same situation right now. The bank won’t accept part payment and Access can’t send more than 10k in a day.

Has anyone been able to update their interview location... I wanted to select virtual since I am currently out of the country but can't find where to do that. I just saw the preferred interview location: Abuja. I believe I selected Abuja during the application period but I would really save money if I could do it virtually. Is anyone experiencing a similar issue?

Help with Drivers licence

My family recently got their PR approved and will be arriving Canada soon. To ensure my husband is able to go for g2 or even g(full driving licence) upon their arrival in Canada, he is trying to obtain his driving history but there is an problem: his name is not properly written in the right order on his licence; instead of XYZ (X is surname,Y is first name and Z is the middle name), the name is printed as ZYX, making his middlename look like his surname. Since I am currently in Canada, I have visited the transportation ministry here and asked them about this and was told that XYZ is not same person as ZYX even though the intl shows his picture and date of birth as well as the driver's licence. They advised that he obtained a letter feom from FRSC or embassy saying that ZYX on thr driver's licence is same as XYZ but the FRSC person he talked to said they cant write such letter.
A little background, this mistake was made when he got his licence the first time, he was told it will be corrected when he goes to renew it. He went to renew it 2months ago and yet the name change was not effected as the FRSC IT person office claimed there is embargo on name modification. The new renewed licence is bearing same wrong order of his name.

Now, we are a bit confused on how to resolve this and worst of all, we are running out on time as their flight is booked.

I will appreacite if anyone here can advise on how best to resolve this or give us contact of who to reach out to.

A friend suggested he go back and claim he lost his licence and request for reprinting and them ask for the correct order of his name but I wonder if they will effect the correction since there is an embargo on name modification.

Another voice said he should get an affidavit and take it to the FRSC office to be stamped with the same stamp that will be used to stamp his driving history, I don't know how feasible this will be since he is in Lagos and I learnt the driving history is written in Abuja, how will he meet the person that will stamp it.

A third person suggested that he get an international driving licence and while doing that, ensure that his name is properly placed that will allow him to drive in Canada for one year, I don't know if that is possible,i.e driving in Canada for one year with int'l driver's licence and also if he can use he can combine it with a driving history to go for his g licence here.

Another suggested that he go to Abuja at their headquarters and they will resolve it. He is currently in Lagos with the kids and travelling to Abuja is not what he can do that easily especially since we are running out of time.

Pls I am sorry for the wrong post but we urgently need help and I want to be sure that our situation is properly explained.

I really need him to be able to drive since we have kids and jobs to attend to, so, it won't be that easy if I am the only one driving, moreover some jobs here will even require valid driving licence.

Pls help a desperate sister.I don't know what's our best solution to the current situation.

Thanks all

Avidreader748:
1. Wes doesn't use intl passport. So they would rely on information they get from your results and would report what they saw on the waec. Whether it differs from the one on your degrees.

2. Some attach a sworn affidavit of their real age and send to Wes with a copy of birth certificate. WES favours OND/HND. You pay the same amount of money irrespective of how many certificates you have. And it comes out as two or more certificate.

Yes, NECO would suffice.
Thank you so much, please, the affidavit does it have to have a WAEC stamp or just an ordinary court stamp?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Duchynwa(f): 10:40pm On May 26, 2019
Hi All,

Please, I need an urgent help with the question below:

My friend wants to do her ECA and the date of birth (DOB) on her WAEC is different, i.e the dob on her WAEC is 2 years younger than her real age. Though she said she saw this at the point of picking up her certificate and complained, but, the process to get it corrected seems tedious and she just ignored it.

My QUESTIONS ARE:

1. Does it really matter to WES that her DOB on the intl passport is different from that on her WAEC since WES evaluation is actually on post-secondary degrees and I would expect that they ECA report does not report age.

2. I have looked for solution too but it seems WAEC no longer corrects error on DOB since some people falsify their age. I am wondering if any one have ever used "Comparative Education Service: University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies". They are listed as one of the authorised ECA by CIC for immigration and they stated on their requirement that secondary education is optional. We are considering using them but wondering if any one here can share his/her experience with them. Also, she wants to verify her ND and HND and they require double payment of $210 for each credential and that's $420.
WES will be cheaper for us, and am wondering if NECO will do, as NECO doesn't not print DOB on the certificate.

3. Please, I will appreciate if anyone can advise us on this ASAP.

Hello all,

pls I need help choosing my NOCC for Express Entry. Here is my situation:
I worked as a graduate assistant with a Federal University in Nigeria for 3years and 1 month and upon obtaining my masters in 2015 was promoted to Assitant Lecturer in March.Exactly one year from that day,I was promoted to Lecturer 2. 4months after I left for abroad for my PhD.

Now am confused which NOCC to choose,if I choose NOCC4011(applying as a lecturer) does this mean that my experience will be considered as 1yr 4months.If this could be the case, should I apply under nocc4012 as graduate assitant with 3yrs experience(2012 to 2015).
The thing is I dont know how his NOCC after crs points.

Urgent advice will be highly appreciated.
Thanks and God bless us all

I did an up front medicals in my first application and still used it in my second application. They did not ask me for a new offer letter.

Praise God!!!. How did you resolve those 2 reasons you gave, your advice is much appreciated. Congrats once again
Ok, so i informed the school where i was going and they sent a 'letter of confirmation of Funding Letter for Visa Purposes '
I had someone transfer 500k in my account as i had very little money and reprinted another statement of account. I called their attention to my sponsor(who was also my sponsor in 2015 during my visit to Canada) He had around 3 something million.
On the case of not returning :
I told them i was given a six months visa to canada last yr n I went n returned, i have family here who are not travelling with me n I can never abandon them here in Nigeria. I have a job and will be going on study leave with full pay so that am legally bonded to return to my job upon completion of my studies. (I included my study leave with pay approval letter and Bond letter which i did not include in the previous application).
Thats all the rest na God ooo
Hope this helps
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Duchynwa(f): 1:57am On Jul 04, 2016
I want to share my testimony here and thank u guys for the nice work u have been doing here. I have been a silent follower of this thread and I must confess that I am impressed by the selfless help being rendered well by you my wonderful people. Keep up the good work and may God bless us all.

I submitted my first visa application /study permit on January 31st 2016 with an up front medicals. On 13th March, I got an email that my processed passport has been dispatched to VAC office and upon collection, I was denied.

Reasons :
1)that I don't have enough money to pay my tuition fees without working in canada (by the way I was given a full Scholarship clearly stated in my admission letter) and,
2.that I may not return to Nigeria after my studies due to lack of assets here.

I addressed the concerns raised by the Visa officer and replied on 31st March (I was suppose to resume in May 1st, spring term).

To the glory of God who is ever faithful, the Holy Spirit my greatest friend and through the intercession of the Sweet Virgin, Our Lady of Perpetual Help whose Son refuses Her nothing,on 24th June, I got an email with a letter that the study permit has been approved and that my visa has been issued.
I also got very lucky, my supervisor approved deferment of my admission a day to the deadline before my admission will be automatically revoked.
So I will be starting this fall.

I must admit that the denial wasnt funny at all and the waiting was something else especially when I couldn't meet up with the Spring term n my supervisor refused to defer my admission because I have been denied visa earlier.

In all I give God all the glory.
For those of you who have been denied before, dont give up, dust it off n try again and for those who are still awaiting response from the embassy keep hopes alive and pray, the God that did it for me at the eleventh hr must surely arise on your behalf. Amen. It can only be God in whom all things are made perfect. I have be following this thread n have read stuffs people point out here as a case for possible denial but I told myself, my case is different if there are any lapses in my application, God pls perfect it. He did it for and will surely do it for all the hopeful here if you believe.

If anybody is going to Ontario this fall, I'll love if we hook up.
Thanks and God bless us all
