When I got to the building, I told the security man @d entrance dat I was goin to Admin and that I came to submit my CV. He den directed me inside d building. Inside d building,at a cubicle like a reception, I told d woman dia d same tin. She asked which of the companies(Shoprite,Foodco etc). So, I replied shoprite. She den told me wia to submit it....nt actually far from d cubicle. Just ur CV,dat's all (cos I intentionally asked d guy dat collected it from me)

THE PEOPLE THAT WERE LAID OFF HAVE BEEN WITH THE BANK FOR UPWARDS OF 30 YEARS! YOU LOT SHOULD NOT COMMENT ON STUFF YOU ARE NOT INFORMED ABOUT.

THEY ARE NO LONGER ADDING ANY VALUE.

SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR THIS DAY TO COME.

1 HEAD, CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GIVEN #9.3M FOR HER 25 YEARS SERVICE TO THE BANK. SOME GOT AS MUCH AS #12 - #20M.

UBN IS UNDERGOING A MASSIVE TRANSFORMATION. LOTS OF YOUNG PEOPLE ARE BEING EMPLOYED. EXPERIENCED BANKERS ARE ALSO CROSSING OVER FROM OTHER BANKS.

THESE ARE HARD FACTS.

I HAD TO TYPE IN CAPITALS FOR MAXIMUM EFFECT.

Abeg, when are they going to recruit new staffs?

Education / Exclusive ASUU-federal Government 2009 Agreement by Dudecollins(m): 8:05am On Oct 22, 2013
On the first day of July this year, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, began an indefinite strike that has lasted till date and may run deep into the future.
According to the union, the strike followed government’s inability to keep to an October 2009 agreement reached by both parties.
The agreement was reached after two years of negotiation between the lecturers and a government team appointed by the then Education Minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili.

ASUU Chairman, Nasir Fagge, could not be reached to confirm how much of the agreement have been implemented.

Career / Re: Did You Recently Quit Your Job For Another One? Let Us Share Experiences by Dudecollins(m): 12:24pm On Oct 12, 2013
naturalwaves: Having stayed jobless for almost a year after service, I eventually picked up a meantime job in one of the old generation banks as a Teller on a contract basis. I never liked the job because;
1)It wasn't the kind of job I wanted, I studied computer science.
2)It never gave me time to do anything, not even the time to spend the salary.lol. The most painful experience I had was during the last Nations cup. I missed almost all the matches cos most were played during work hours and they didn't switch to the match playing channel.
3) I was being overused....I take cash lodgements, pay cash, confirm cheques through calls, update customers info at weekends and so on.
4)The old generation bank lacks organisation and the whole work load falls on you at the end of the day. If you can't balance the accounts, that's another problem.
5)The work environment was so hostile and I was never appreciated even though I did my job perfectly. Infact, there was a day my Boss who was a Vault Teller said that the problem I have is that I always try to be too perfect instead of complimenting me for a job well done cos I aleays use a maximum of 20 minutes to balance the accounts for the day after closing to customers.
6) The job was a risky one as the appointment could be terminated at any time.
7)Anytime I want to write an Aptitude test for another job, it is usually a tug of war. If my exam is in two days time, I will pretend like I am sick and won't come to work on the day of the test. Sometimes, I rely on sick leave to do that.

God so good, I got another job with the Lagos state government as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) instructor in one of the secondary schools and I am enjoying the job so much.
I have enough time to myself, time to do personal studies, time to do Masters and IT certifications, time to develop and to cap it all, the job is a PERMANENT job so, if I want to switch, I will know that I still have a job no matter what.
My dream is to be a lecturer someday, infact, a Professor and my new job is very close to making that a reality. A teaching platform before lecturing is a good one, teaching is so much fun!

Which bank is dat pls? I'm asking to knw if I'm bout to be in da same ish and hw I'm going to cope wif the associated challenges. 10x
