SavageResponse: The Internet is such a faceless forum where people spew what they don't know. To start with, l am not a farm hand, l am a holder of a Master's Degree with over ten years experience in managing agriculture investments. So l know what l am saying. I have both qualitative and quantitative experience. #5Million will give me such a cash flow over time. |
Mikocake:Every business has a risk assessment and mitigation. This will be well taken care of. The farm location is not in the herdsmen 'hotspot' and measures will be taken to safeguard investment. Despite the numerous security challenges in the country, farms are still doing well. You just have to get it right. |
Sirchiboy:I have hands on experience on crop production and processing. I will invest on three crops: Palm oil, maize and Cassava. I will buy 5 hectares of Farm land, cultivate oil palm plantation on it for a long term income and inter crop with maize and Cassava for short term/ residual income while managing the farm before the oil palm starts fruiting in the third year. The Oil Palm fruit will be processed locally for Palm oil. The five hectares of palm oil can generate an annual income of #30million naira for me for 25 to 30 years while creating minimum of 10 permanent employment for others. So you can understand while I said #5Milllion can change my life. |
In a trending video in a message by the Pastor Fatoyinbo of the famous COZA church, he said that the renown man of God died as a poor man with no inheritance to his children. He went further to say that his children are not happy with him and not serving God. The question now is: must ministerial success equate to financial success. Is wealth the measure of a successful life as a child of God? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72_7H-HGcKo?si=HbfFUB4N3BbYCxao |

Members of the Coach Rena Makama-led technical team also got $50,000 each. This was announced when President Bola Tinubu hosted the team on Monday evening following the team’s unprecedented fifth consecutive #AfroBasketWomen victory. Last week, the President conferred similar national honours and gifts on the Super Falcons for winning Nigeria’s 10th title of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco. In the final on Sunday, Nigeria edged out Mali 78-64 in a tense showdown, displaying resilience and composure to claim their seventh AfroBasket title. They have dominated African women’s basketball, winning their 29th consecutive game without a single loss since 2015. As with most of their early games in the tournament, Nigeria got off to a slow start. https://www.channelstv.com/2025/08/04/breaking-fg-rewards-dtigress-with-oon-each-player-gets-100000-flat/ |

Interesting times are here as the Nigeria House of representative moves to make voting compulsory for eligible Nigerians. A bill to amend the Electoral Act 2022 to make voting compulsory for Nigerians of voting age has passed second reading in the House of Representatives. The proposed legislation was sponsored by the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, and Daniel Ago. Leading the debate during plenary on Thursday, Ago said the bill aimed to encourage citizens’ participation in the electoral process, noting that voter apathy during elections would be addressed if the bill scales legislative scrutiny. Although the bill passed second reading, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party from Akwa Ibom State, Mark Esset, said enacting a law to make voting compulsory is not enough to sanitise the electoral system. “Let us not put something on nothing. If citizens have lost confidence in the electoral system, there is a lot of work to be done. “Many Nigerians do not vote during elections because they believe that their votes will not count. If we must make a law to make voting compulsory, we must also make another one to make their votes count,” he said. My people, what are your thoughts on this bill? Do you think this is necessary at this time or the government should thoroughly address the issues that causes voter's apathy during the election cycle. https://punchng.com/just-in-reps-move-to-make-voting-compulsory-for-nigerians/?utm_source=top-story&utm_medium=web |

Pope Francis, 88, the oldest pope in over a century, died Monday morning, though quiet discussions on who could succeed him have reportedly already begun. While any male Catholic could in theory be chosen to sit in the papal seat, historically, succeeding popes have been selected from the Sacred College of Cardinals since 1378, according to Religion News Service. Currently, there are 252 cardinals in the body who have been selected by the Holy Father to serve as his advisors and assistants. Here is a look at some of the most likely forerunners to serve as the 267th pope, according to public reporting. 1. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, 70, Italy Parolin, the Vatican’s secretary of state, is the highest-ranking diplomat in the Holy See – which is the governing body of the Catholic Church – and is believed to be among the cardinals most likely to be elected to the top position. His favor among cardinals in the Sacred College, who will vote on the next pope, is due to his politically moderate position and his career in diplomacy, reported The New York Post. Parolin, who spent part of his career in Mexico and Nicaragua, was appointed by Pope Francis in 2014 and would likely be seen as an extension of the current papacy. 2. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, 67, Philippines Cardinal Tagle is also believed to be a frontrunner among voting cardinals and serves as the pro-prefect for the section of first evangelization of the Dicastery for Evangelization, as well as president of the Interdicasterial Commission for Consecrated Religious. He has been dubbed the "Asian Pope Francis" particularly for their similarities when it comes to their more embracing position of the LGBTQI community than their predecessors. In a 2015 interview, Tagle said the Church’s "severe" position on the LGBTQI community, divorcees and single mothers was doing it harm. According to the Catholic Herald, Tagle "would be hailed by liberals, given the changing demographic of the Church." 3. Cardinal Peter Erdo, 72, Hungary There are several conservative cardinals who are believed to be top contenders for the papacy, including Cardinal Peter Erdo, who has been critical of Francis’ position on divorce and immigration. Erdo has argued that divorced or re-married Catholics should not be allowed to receive Holy Communion due to his position regarding the "indissolubility of marriage." The Catholic Herald pointed out that appointing a conservative pope following Francis’ tenure would "send a powerful message about the direction the Church would be taking." Erdo has also differed from Francis greatly on immigration and argued in 2015 that permitting refugees to resettle is tantamount to human trafficking. 4. Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo Besungu, 65, Democratic Republic of Congo Another conservative cardinal thought to be a serious contender is Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo Besungu from the war-torn nation of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Membership of the Catholic Church in Africa is growing faster than anywhere else in the world, according to the Associated Press. The 65-year-old Ambongo controversially rejected Pope Francis' blessing of same-sex couples by the Catholic Church. In a letter signed by other African priests, they said they refused to follow the pontiff’s declaration because such unions are "contrary to the will of God." 5. Cardinal Raymond Burke, 76, United States of America The Wisconsin native and former archbishop of St. Louis is considered to be the leading American candidate. The 76-year-old cardinal is also viewed as being from the conservative side of the Church. He is a proponent of the Latin Mass, and has been critical of Pope Francis regarding the Church’s new language around artificial contraception, LGBT issues and civil marriages. Burke was made a cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010. 6. Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, 69, Italy Zuppi was born in Rome. He is the president of the Italian Episcopal Conference and is viewed as an insider in Francis’ Vatican, having served as the archbishop of Bologna. The 69-year-old Zuppi is seen as being one of Pope Francis' favorites. He was sent on a peace mission in 2023 to Ukraine, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He was also sent to meet with President Joe Biden that same year. Zuppi was made a cardinal by Pope Francis in 2019. The Vote Of the 252 cardinals in the Sacred College, only 138 are under the age of 80 and therefore are permitted to participate in the conclave, the papal election process – though there are no age limitations for the candidate who would serve as the future pope. Following the death of a pope, the conclave then holds a vote, and will continue to vote, until a pope is chosen by a two-thirds majority. At that time, the ballots will be burned with a chemical that produces white smoke, as opposed to black smoke, to alert the world that a new pope has been chosen. https://www.foxnews.com/world/who-could-next-pope |

Jim Caviezel was warned by Mel Gibson that his role in the famous 'Passion of the Christ' film could cost him his career in Hollywood but he defied the odds and performed the role excellently. He faced a lot of challenges during the shooting of the film including being struck by a lightning on the cross scene. I believe this is worth reading. If you haven't watched the film, please go and watch it. It really depicted the suffering and crucifiction of Jesus. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/mel-gibson-warned-jesus-actor-passion-christ-role-could-cost-him-hollywood-career#&_intcmp=fnhpriver_3 |
Accept the new job offer and apply for a two weeks leave from your current office and use that period to go and see the new job environment. While in the new place, ask questions about work environment[ toxic or not], culture, salary payment promptness, boss attitude, career growth etc. If you find it acceptable, write your current employer you are resigning. |

Racoon: Honestly, l pray that our democracy matures to this level. Our election is like a war. The last election witness air force jets and helicopter flying over my city for recognizance and monitoring. There was palpable fear in the country. |
I am always intrigued by the high voters turn out in America's presidential election and the sophistication of their political system. For the 2024 Presidential election, a total of 161,420,000 Million voters were registered while 140,599,459 Million, representing 87% casted their vote (according to www.foxnews.com). The election was devoid of any public holiday, stoppage of commercial activities, deployment of heavy military or police presence in the polling booth and there was no ban on travelling from one part of the country to another. The Nigeria 2023 Presidential election has come and gone. The total number of registered voters according to INEC was 96.4 Million voters while a total of 24,025,940, representing 26% casted their vote. I begin to wonder: why is there a high voters turn out in the American Presidential election compared to Nigeria's own for similar election. Does it mean that Nigerian's are not politically alive or what? What's your thought on this please. I think that Nigerian citizens and the government has a lot to learn from the America political system. |
