The sky is your limit, Tinubu tells Fashola on august 19, 2015 at 7:28 am in news By Gbenga Oke & Monsur Olowoopejo LAGOS—The chilled political relationship between two former governors of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Mr. Babatunde Fashola came to the fore yesterday, when the mainstream of the state’s political class abstained from the launch of three books on Fashola’s stewardship of the state. Photo: Bunmi Azeez However, a testimony of Fashola’s credentials among technocrats was evident as the occasion had a surplus of professionals from various sectors of the society, who thronged the event for the launch. The anxiety that preceded yesterday’s book launch was aptly echoed by erstwhile chairman of Guaranty Trust Bank, Mr. Fola Adeola, chairman of the occasion, who described those who came for the launch as brave. The notable political players from the state present were immediate political associates of the former governor, former governorship aspirant, Mr. Supo Sashore, former deputy Governor, Alhaja Lateefat Okunnu, former commissioner for finance in Lagos State, Mr. Wale Edun, Senator Munirudeen Muse, Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Funmilayo Atilade and Mr. Joe Igbokwe, the spokesman of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Also present were the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Mr Gbenga Makanjuola, who represented Senate President Bukola Saraki, Mr Lanre Babalola, Jide Sanwoolu, Rotimi Oyeko, among others. Tinubu was represented by Prof. Tunde Samuel, a former commissioner in the state. Governor Ibikunle Amosun was represented by Otunba Bimbo Ashiru. Speaking at the event, Mr. Adeola said he considered those who attended as those who have the interest of the former governor of Lagos at heart. Adeola hails attendees for bravery According to him, “I believe everybody that came here today considers Fashola as a friend, brother, cousin, so I greet everyone and welcome them. I will also say some people are here just because they are brave and not afraid. The people who are here today are simply telling him that no matter what, they still remain his friend”. He went further, “I can tell you that with some faces I have seen here, I think I am fine. At least I can see Palace representatives and majority of our old friends, so for me, it will be a day to remember. I am so happy to be alive in my time that Governor Fashola happened and my prayer is that we will not wait for too long for another Fashola to happen”. “I was in Benin and somebody was talking about Lagos State and Fashola, I was surprised and wondered where they knew him from. Also, in Kano State during Governor Kwankwanso’s tenure, a young man was saying his governor is trying to replicate what Fashola is doing in Lagos in the state. So in my dictionary, Fashola represents every good thing,” he stated. My accomplishments not complete without people — Fashola In his remarks, Fashola said the success of his tenure was made possible because of the people who worked with him while in office. He also said the book launch was all about Mr Hakeem Bello who painstakingly documented the three books being launched. He said: “I think it will be wrong for anyone to believe today belongs to me but it is not. It belongs to Hakeem Bello, who painstakingly documented these three books. It also belongs to Dapo Adeniyi, who worked with him. And to all those who joined us in this event, what you have done is to join us in celebrating Hakeem Bello, a gentleman, family man whose passion for his work epitomises his fidelity in what he believes in. “We need to know that there are people who started this journey before me especially my predecessor in office, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. There are also men and women who served with me while I was n office for eight years. So, those achievements would not have been possible without these people who served with me who also include judges in this state.” The sky is your limit — Tinubu Tinubu, who was represented by Prof. Samuel in his message said Fashola’s rugged intellect to public service differentiated him from his peers while he was in office. “Fashola acquired a lot of apprenticeship in a wired political engineering and this further helped his actions while in office. I am happy that your ruggedness in office has shown Lagosians and Nigerians that Asiwaju took a very good decision when he made you his Chief of Staff and later two time Governor of Lagos state” he added. He however concluded, “We are happy about your success in office and we believe the sky is your limit”. Amosun, represented by Otunba Ashiru compared the challenges encountered by Fashola in his effort to improve infrastructure in Lagos to what late Chief Obafemi Awolowo faced when he was the Premier of the Western Region. The three books launched yesterday were The Great Leap; In Bold Print and The Lagos Blow Down. Moses Ogunleye. His words “What you have done in Lagos, the legacy will continue to remain forever. When late Chief Obafemi Awolowo decided to build the Cocoa House, there were several protests from Nigerians that the country was not ripe for such a structure, but he stood with the plan and today; it has remained in the annals of the country’s history. And for Fashola, look at the cable bridge between Ikoyi and Lekki, no one believed that it could happen. You have just left office but Nigerians still need your experience,” he said. Abegiii government of the Lying Liars, Lying since 1983...propaganda everywhere. Telling us how Corrupt GEJ and his aids were doesnt make news again. We want evidence. Investigate before talking ...Kukah. Beliving this administration and Apc is like beliving that Nigeria is not in West Africa.Lies everywhere you go. |
What kind of administation is this? If you direct the administration as an elderstates ,the party of the lying liars and there fanatic fans will find a way to put a hole on your reputation and drag you to the mud. What has kukah said wrong? He just said that the administration should investigate before making noise about probing...PMB is committing the samething he accussed Oputa panel in 2001...He is already insunuating that GEJ's administration was marred with corruption without any substantial prove. Read on. I remember when the Oputa panel was constituted and this same Hassan Kukah was a member and they invited Buhari to it but PMB refused to attend it because of his ego. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/1668858.stm If we don't stop this politics of destruction then there will be no Nigeria to live in soon God will never forgive APC for this nonsense they are bringing into our polity Wednesday, 21 November, 2001, 16:38 GMT General lashes out at Nigeria rights panel Nigerian troops Nigeria is coming to terms with decades of military abuse By Dan Isaacs in Lagos One of Nigeria's former military rulers has launched a vitriolic attack against the country's human rights commission. President Olusegun Obasanjo The president established the Oputa panel two years ago General Muhammadu Buhari also outlined the personal reasons for his refusal to attend the public hearings of the so-called Oputa panel. Three former military rulers - General Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, and Abdulsalam Abubakar - have repeatedly defied summonses to appear before the panel to answer allegations of rights abuses. The panel, established by President Olusegun Obasanjo two years ago, ended its formal sessions last month. Final request The Oputa group made one final request to all of Nigeria's former military heads of state to explain their failure to appear. But General Buhari, who led a coup in 1983 and ruled until he himself was overthrown two years later, wrote back reiterating his refusal to testify. He wrote in the letter that it would serve no purpose to appear since the panel had already roundly accused the military heads of state publicly as individuals. He said there was nothing remotely personal in the actions of his government. He also suggested the panel consider the failings of other governments, and not his own. Absent protagonists His statement speaks volumes about the level of responsibility that Nigeria's former rulers have been prepared to take over the human rights failings of their own administrations. General Ibrahim Babangida General Babangida also refused to appear before the tribunal The behaviour of the generals has angered human rights lawyers, most notably Chief Gani Fawihinmi. In his own furious letter to the panel published in Wednesday's press, he demanded the commission take much sterner action against those who virtually crushed Nigeria. The Oputa panel is seen by many here as a significant achievement in that it has led to open debate of the abuses of power over decades of military rule. But it has conspicuously failed in its ability to persuade key protagonists to testify. With or without the comments of the reluctant generals, the Oputa panel is expected to publish its final report by the end of the year. |
obailala:But obviously that is the truth. You speaking, are you not APC or Pmb's writer. The most important thing is the truth and fact. Forget who the writer is. He that goes to equity, must go with clean hands. |
He who goes to equity must go with clean hands. Buhari should probe all ,since the inception of Democratic government. He should probe Obj and Gej. Probing only Gej is unacceptable . |

Can a history teacher explain this ... Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both their wives lost a child while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on a Friday. Both Presidents were shot in the head. Now it gets really weird. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939. Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names are composed of fifteen letters. Now hang on to your seat. Lincoln was shot at the theater named "Ford." Kennedy was shot in a car called "Lincoln" made by "Ford." Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials. And here's the "kicker": A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe. AND...................: Lincoln was shot in a theater and the assassin ran to a warehouse... Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and the assassin ran to a theatre... Worth a share ...!! |

ay, 28 July 2015 LEAKED! Why Buhari Personally Apologized To Obasanjo Over Threat To Probe Past Governments LEAKED! Buhari Apologized To Obasanjo Over Threat To Probe Past Governments Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari’s threats to probe governance affairs of his predecessors has tumbled into a boomeranging breadth, prompting the General to personally send a plea with apologies to the former President and one of the targets of his proposed probe, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, International Guardian reliably gathered. “I didn’t personally know what was said or written, but to my understanding, PMB was only trying to diffuse rumors in the media about Obasanjo being ab target of his probe,” a source close to Buhari’s administration explained in a text message. Chief Obasanjo was already gathering a dossier which included documents linking President Buhari and key allies and colleagues in his administration to major fraud related to various affairs of the government, when he received President Buhari’s “es·prit de corps” plea for a common understanding and restraint. To further appease the aged former leader, President Buhari quickly announced a retraction of his threats, announcing publicly that he would not extend his corruption probe beyond the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. A worried President Buhari specifically indicated through his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Femi Adesina, that he would not waste time in probing the administrations of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdulsalam Abubakar, Sani Abacha, and Ibrahim Babangida. The retraction nonetheless created doubts among critics on the president’s credibility in fighting corruption as he initially swaggered. President Buhari, it may be recalled, had consistently vowed to investigate and bring to book, all persons who looted the country’s funds. Consequently, he made a threat to arrest and prosecute past ministers and other officials who stole Nigeria’s oil and diverted government’s money to personal accounts. The President’s request for collaboration with the United States, however, prompted an alleged reaction by President Obasanjo considered as one of Nigeria’s most corrupt past leader by most western countries. The United States has indicated it would help Nigeria’s new leader track down billions of dollars in stolen assets – a move that might expose previous fraudulent engagements in the Obasanjo’s regime. Atiku was implicated by a US Grand Jury which report detailed his fraudulent involvement with Congressman, William Jefferson to secure a business deal in Nigeria. Jefferson was sentenced to 13 years on November 13, 2009, the longest sentence ever handed down to a congressman for bribery.crumbly economy. International Guardian gathered that President Buhari’s backtrack from his initial plans for a comprehensive probe of public-fund misappropriation may jeopardize Nigeria’s request to the United States for collaboration on tracing missing funds. The United States government it was gathered, may not oblige to selective investigation of executive fraudsters and may not spare Buhari himself. It may be recalled that as the Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was implicated by a US Grand Jury which reports detailed his fraudulent involvement with Congressman, William Jefferson to secure a business deal in Nigeria. On August 5, 2009, Jefferson was found guilty of 11 of the 16 corruption counts, and was sentenced to 13 years on November 13, 2009, the longest sentence ever handed down to a congressman for bribery. From fraudulent privatization of state-owned enterprises; filthy oil deals; bribery associated with Halliburton, Siemens, and Transcorp, rushed terminal contracts, to personal loans for his farms business, embezzlement of Excess Crude Account, and Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF), Chief Obasanjo’s regime has been considered the most fraudulent in Nigeria’s history. “For Buhari to claim that he would not waste time digging into the far past, simply signals a red flag about his involvement in the whole thing,” confided a source close to Washington. Last week, International Guardian reported how President Obasanjo was the only one to rightly expose President Buhari’s negative past records of public accountability, revealing his readiness to hit the blogs with documents that would shock the nation. The story also narrated how Buhari as the chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) between 1998-99, failed to account for a missing 25 billion naira, confiscating all related documents and obstructing all investigative channels. Buhari’s alleged plea to Obasanjo, therefore, was timely. “When it comes to being vindictive, you know Baba does not waste time and Buhari should have known better,” a source close to the All Progressives Congress (APC) told our newsroom. |

Secret steps of high achievers... Have a clear intentions.. Positive expectations.. Take Action...Persevere on the action... practice law of attractions, and finally change your reference group to people that motivates you. Remember success is like knowing combination to a lock or having the recipe to a dish... It doesn't matter whether you are tall or short, handsome or ugly, black or white, from rich background or poor background... Quit letting these circumstances limit you. There is no limit to what you can achieve - believe in yourself. If you have the combination to a lock, you will always open it. If you have the recipe of a dish, you will always prepare it. It doesn't matter who you are . Therefore, if you know the formula for success, you will be successful. Conclusively, if you want more success in your life, do what successful people do. 13 Nigerians from the Niger Delta region undergoing commercial point training at the Lufthansa Flight Training School in Frankfurt, have been sent away because President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to release money for the required fees. buhari port.jpg According to VANGUARD, the Nigerian pilots who would have graduated from the prestigious aviation training institution, were axed last Friday due to their inability to pay for sundry fees stipulated in their training manual. The fees were for accommodation and training logistics. Also, six of the pilots who had already completed their training had their licenses withheld by the school. Two of the students sent home for non-payment, had only one test to complete their Programme for Commercial Pilot Licence, one was in his final stage of the CPL test while four had just started their type rating test and would have completed next month. An unnamed source at the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, claims that there is money in the account of the agency with the Central Bank of Nigeria but that there was no signatory to authorize the payment as President Buhari is yet to name a Special Adviser on Niger Delta, who doubles as the chairman of the PAP and is the chief executive of the agency. |

UNBELIEVABLE! Tinubu Loyalists cries out set to dump APC for… Lagos APC cries out... Following the perceived indignity meted out to the founding national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by power brokers in the party from the core north, himself, his loyalists are set to dump the ruling party. Already, his loyalist and the Interim National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande have inaugurated a pressure group within the party call the Action Group to defend and protect the interest of members of the party from the South West zone. The Action Group, AG was the political party led by late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the pre and post independence era. AG was an offshoot of Egbe Omo Oduduwa, a cultural group formed by Awolowo during the struggle for Nigeria’s independence. Nigerian Pilot Sunday gathered from APC South West members that they felt betrayed by the humiliation of Bola Tinubu by members of the party from the core North despite the critical role he played in the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the APC and the eventual victory of the party in the presidential election. The Tinubu loyalists were said to have critically appraised the recent development in the APC and came to the conclusion that the core North intentionally used Tinubu as ladder to get the presidency which they have been craving for since the death of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 2010. It was gathered that as the APC power brokers from the North gradually unfold their hidden agenda against Tinubu, members of the party from the South West loyal to him, held several meetings where they resolved to float an alternative platform in anticipation of their imminent defection from the party. The new pro-Tinubu group, APC-Action Group, made its public media debut on July 5 when they issued a press statement signed by its Spokesman, Segun Dipe, where they defended the position of Bisi Akande over the crisis in the National Assembly. Chief Akande had been criticised for his recent utterances with which he cautioned some party members, whom he accused of trading the party’s birthright and dining with the enemy with a bid to get choice positions. Specifically, he mentioned some northern elites and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members within the APC as those rocking the party’s boat with indiscipline and disloyalty. APC-AG recalled how Chief Akande had journeyed with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through thick and thin from the dark and lonely days of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, to the Action Congress, AC, and then Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, before arriving at the APC, only for them to be thrown into the dustbin after they helped the party to upstage PDP. Nigerian Pilot Sunday also gathered that members of APC Action Group are not particularly happy with President Muhammadu Buhari, whom they alleged set the stage for the humiliation of Tinubu during his inauguration when he said he belonged to everybody and belonged to nobody. They said those against Tinubu and the South West within the APC took the phrase as signal and presidential endorsement to opponents of Tinubu to unleash their northern agenda in the ruling party. Members of the APC-Action Group are also said to be suspicious of the role played by the President in the election of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, when he stood aloof and watched the agreed candidates of the party, Sen. Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, upstaged by Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara with the active support of APC leaders from the North led by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. Our source disclosed that Tinubu’s loyalists in the APC- Action Group are bidding their time to see if President Buhari “will correct the injustice meted out to Tinubu” when the election of the chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, is held on July 20. If Tinubu is compensated with the BoT chairman and at least four ministerial slot they, APC Action Group, will keep their plan to defect in abeyance and watch events unfold in the party, especially as some members of the party are already positioning themselves for 2019 primaries, he further said.
